Updated and renovated Hideaway Apartment with brand-new kitchen! Charming!

Tucked away from the noise and busyness of everyday life, is a quiet hideaway located just a few miles outside the quaint little Village of Intercourse, PA. Many Lancaster County attractions are nearby: Kitchen Kettle, Strasburg Railroad, Dutch Wonderland, Amish Quilt Shops, Rockvale and Tanger Outlet Malls, Sight and Sound Millenium Theatre, Shady Maple Restaurant/Smorgasboard and other Restaurants with Amish Cooking, Buggy Rides, Hot Air Balloon Rides.

The apartment (over 850 sq. ft!), tucked in a cozy space beneath an extension of the owner's home, is warmly decorated and peaceful. Renovations in 2023 include a new kitchen, freshly-painted walls, enhanced lighting, and new furniture. It offers a comfortable featherbed, flat-screen TV/DVD, seating area with fireplace, dining table and stocked kitchen (sink/refrigerator/stove/microwave/coffee maker.) A small stackable washer and dryer can be used for small loads of laundry. There is a separate parking area for our Hideaway guests. The spacious backyard features a large gazebo, perfect for picnics, and you are invited to stroll through perennial gardens bursting with color during the summer, or relax on the swing or in the hammock.

The Hideaway well exceeded our expectations. It was impeccable as far as cleanliness. The kitchen and bathroom was well stocked with whatever a guest would need during their stay. The location was very convenient to many shops and restaurants. The host, Fran communicated well and made sure all was ready when we arrived and departed. A place to stay!!!

Very clean and nice apartment close to the beautiful Amish countryside. The Hostess was attentive and communicated well. Their coffee shop is adorable where you can get an excellent cup of coffee. My daughter loved the mocha frappes! We enjoyed our stay.

Our family has lived on this same property for over 35 years and we raised our four children here. It is in a rural location, surrounded by Amish neighbors and acres of lawn, as our property sets adjacent to soccer fields which belong to our local school. Some years ago we added a new addition to our Cape Cod house and left an unfinished lower-level to be renovated in the future. In the Spring of 2010, the dream was realized and the little guest apartment hideaway was completed! Since then, we have continued to update the space, as well as the exterior gardens and yard.

Why they chose this property

"This corner of earth smiles for me." It's one of my favorite quotes because it describes how we feel about the space we get to call HOME. The memories of having raised all of our children here, and now watching our grandchildren play on the same property, is a gift we do not take for granted.

What makes this property unique

Although we live within a short distance of many activities, and are located within several hours of some of the largest cities in the Northeastern United States, our home is nestled in the quiet countryside of Lancaster County's Amish community. It truly is the best of both worlds!
