The house was spacious and had lovely historic details w/ modern accents. It was very convenient for walking to a market and restaurants, as well as very quick drive to the downtown plaza and the Cal Poly campus. We got right on and off Hwy 101 to go exploring. We'd definitely stay here again.
Such a comfy and cozy Craftsman home. It felt like it was our home. Relaxing atmosphere, well equipped, perfect for our girls trip. Location was great. You can easily walk to downtown Arcata. Just a lovely spot.

Great location
Was a great location and had a parking spot that was off the street which was key for the location. The bed was extremely comfortable and was super comfortable home in general. Had some mishap when trying to adjust the dates by adding a date but once I was able to reach the host it was smooth sailing.
This was a great place to stay for myself and my aging parents. It would have been wonderful for kids too. Location is great. House feels comfortable, welcoming and easy. It’s pure Arcata.

Nice home needs cleaning, noisy, limited dishware
Nice home has had some nice work done and nice touches. needs work. No screens. Lot of windows painted closed.
Only 4 cups, 3 mugs. No bowls for eating, just large serving bowls. A few plates. But stocked with cookware. Check if dishes before you go if you plan to cook. We had to give up on that.
Not sure they use a cleaning service as floors, kitchen and bathrooms need it. Bedding was clean.
Musty smell and noisy street. Lots of cars. Will impact sleep if noise bothers you.
This was such a restful stay, we loved being within walking distance to a fabulous health food grocery. Beds I think are full not queen. Couches super comfy for reading. Kitchen well equipped, I especially appreciated the ceramic plates. Not all windows open but we were able to prop several open during the day to air it out. Overall loved having so much space for an affordable price and getaway.
Host was incredibly gracious in lending us some chairs and some space to store luggage before our flight home. House had everything we needed to sleep comfortably. Laundry was nice to have. Didn’t cook but there looked to be all the basics to make a meal. TV had all the usual apps. Heating worked well. Adequate blankets and towels. Very well located

Older property with lots of charm. Plenty of space and sunshine. Well equipped kitchen. Very comfy beds. Host is communicative and accommodating. Check in was simple and convenient. Grocery just a couple of blocks away. Easy access to 101 and only a short drive to Eureka and McKinleyville. Walkable to Arcata Plaza.
Clean and lovely craftsman home. Convenient location for college visit. Third bedroom looks to have been converted from a possible laundry room. Ended up being too small to use. But otherwise a great location.
Check in was so easy- and the hosts made sure to let us know they were available if needed and were right around the corner. The place was just as expected, it was full of charm and welcoming. We enjoyed it. Would recommend.
This gorgeous craftsman home is spacious, comfortable, sunny, and gorgeous. We hosted our student for dinner in the large kitchen, we walked to campus, the arcata farmer's market and more. I highly suggest staying at this home.
This was our second time staying here and we'll be back. It's spacious and perfect for family of 4-5. Walking distance to downtown and campus. Close to restaurants and market. Very enjoyable stay.
Amazing location! Travelled with our two kids ages 15 and 12 and there was a room for each of them. Very walkable to downtown Arcata and several restaurants. About 30 minute drive from the south entrance to Redwoods NP. The home is spectacular with tons of early 20th century craftsman details throughout. Would absolutely stay here again without reservation.
We had such a nice time in this wonderful house. Beds were comfortable, there is plenty of space, and it’s an easy walk to the square and to campus. The proper owners are super nice and very helpful. We’ll definitely be back.
Had a great time at Sam's house. It's located just a few blocks from the downtown plaza and easy access to campus. We could walk to pretty much anything we needed. Nice market a few blocks away, new ramen shop a block away, plaza is 7 blocks away.
House is a really nice older house. I have a soft spot for old houses, and like their quirkiness. House is laid out very logically. There's a nice office in the back and we used the smaller third bedroom as a quiet reading/hanging out room. Sam was very communicative and easy to reach. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip if it's available.
Very comfortable house. Old school hard wood floors, trim, and kitchen. Plenty of space. Walking distance to downtown square and campus. Really enjoyed staying here. Will def stay here again when visiting Arcata.
We stayed here for a family wedding and was ideally located near the main Plaza as well as a local market, coffee shops, and a couple local restaurants. My father has a little trouble walking but commented that he liked the hand rails down the hallway to the bathrooms and in general was easy for him to get around. The place also had lots of charm and was very clean. There is definitely pride of ownership there. Two nit-pik items to be aware of are: 1. it is on a loudish corner with some traffic and the occasional college students walking by in the evenings. If you are sensitive to that, it could be an issue. 2. one of the two bathrooms is functional and nice, but very small. Over all, it was a great place and would stay there again without hesitation.
We had great time at this property!
Centrally located with everything within walking distance.
The house itself is charming; my family enjoyed the stay and hope to go back to visit beautiful Arcata!
We could walk to so many local shops and restaurants with ease. The house was a cute old bungalow with plenty of space for cooking, visiting, and playing games with the family. Look forward to another stay.
