The lemon haven in Arcata

This charming, historic home overlooks Arcata. It is a pleasant walk to downtown, where you can enjoy the numerous restaurants, farmers market and festivals on the Plaza. You can spend the day exploring, perusing the shelves of books at the Tin Can Mailman, checking out Sci-Fi night at the Arcata Theater Lounge or going to explore the majestic redwoods and wild coastline. It is just a short 2 block walk to Humboldt State University, where you can watch great shows at the Van Duzer Theater. The Arcata Community forest is only 3 blocks away with miles of hiking trails through the redwoods.

Our home has a spacious rolling lawn for bocce ball, or relaxing outside with a cold drink under the tree in the back yard. There is a large, fully equipped kitchen for cooking delicious meals for two, or the whole family. You will find fun dishes for all occasions in addition to a rice cooker, crock pot, blender and so much more!

There is a luxurious king size bed in one bedroom. The second bedroom has two extra long twin beds for separate sleeping, or if you would prefer to have them together, they make a second king bed. The yard is full fenced for your four legged friends, so come on out and find all the comforts of home and much more in our charming lemon haven!

This is a wonderful family-friendly and pet-friendly home and property. The house is charming, well furnished and roomy. The back yard is fabulous, and we used it many times during our 2-week stay for grilling shrimp to eating pizza to just hanging out and visiting. The yard is fenced so our CA family could visit with their two dogs. Mary is a superior host in every category of hosting! We've stayed at her other properties over the years and have never ever been disappointed. Thank you, Mary!!

Lemon Haven was wonderful! The house was cute, clean and in a great location - easy walk to town and HSU. If it wasn't raining, we would have taken advantage of the cute yard. I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a cozy place to stay.

This place is adorable. It has everything you need. Beautiful property. Nice back yard with BBQ and seating. We didn't use the house to it's fullest extent, but we wanted to live there permanently. The location is great. Walking distance to town, but your away from the congestion of downtown. Excellent VRBO experience. Thank you.

When the house key wasn't where it was supposed to be the host picked up (their phone) and was able to resolve the issue quickly. The property was well maintained for its age, spacious for a family of 4 (including teenagers!), and included many extras (cooking utensils, soaps/toiletries, books to read, games to play) to make our stay comfortable. Lots of electric plugs to charge devices and get ready to explore Arcata, Eureka, and beyond. Beds were comfy and having two rooms for sleeping was very nice for the price point. Would definitely feel comfortable bringing a doggo next time. The house location was convenient and while close to Humboldt and off a major street, it was quiet and felt safe. The window shades were great once you figured out how to use them and having a mudroom/entry was nice to drop off things up-front. All-around an excellent stay!

Cozy and Great Location

Perfect home to visit Arcata with our fur-baby and teens!! We explored campus and town all walking from this sweet home! We baked cookies, made cookies, enjoyed the cozy living room, slept well in the nice beds, and enjoyed.

Excellent, cozy accommodations with comfortable beds, a well functioning heater for the cold nights, and all amenities, including a paella pan we put to good use. The backyard was huge. The shower was modern with a hand held device and rainfall showerhead. We walked into town every day; great location for leaving the car at home. Mary, our host, was quick to respond, helpful & understanding - 5 stars for her alone! Would definitely stay here again when visiting Arcata.

Convenient location for North Coast

Excellent location for accessing the University, walk around town, drive up the coast to beaches and redwoods and south to Eureka. Wonderfully equipped kitchen. Mary, the manager, very kind and accessible.

Cozy, convenient Arcata home

Wonderful, well-appointed & maintained home with large fenced yard that was perfect for my husband and me. Our doggie loved it too! Was close to the Humboldt campus and yet set in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. Was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting relatives for Thanksgiving. Would return again in a heartbeat and recommend highly.

Perfect Place

We really enjoyed our stay in this quaint, clean, and well thought out property! We had everything we needed and slept great. The fully fenced backyard was huge and perfect for those traveling with a pet. We loved the proximity to the college, the community forest, and even downtown. Everything was a short walk away, although an uphill walk back from the plaza. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will return!
