About the host

Host profile image
Hi! My name is Kathryn. My husband and I have lived here in the mountains of North Carolina for just over a year, and we’ve absolutely fallen in love with the peace, beauty, and sense of community in this area. We’re passionate about sustainable living and creating cozy, welcoming spaces that invite people to slow down and connect—with nature, each other, and themselves. Hosting allows us to share a little piece of that magic with others. Whether you’re here to explore nearby Asheville, enjoy the hot springs, or just relax under the trees, we hope our yurt becomes a special part of your stay.

Why they chose this property

Our yurt sits on our dream property, about 38 acres of peaceful, wooded land just outside of Marshall. We chose this area because we were drawn to the natural beauty, quiet pace of life, and the creative, artsy spirit of the Marshall community. Living here allows us to enjoy privacy, fresh air, and stunning mountain views, while still being close to town and all that Western North Carolina has to offer. It’s a place that feels both grounding and inspiring, and we love being able to share a piece of it with our guests.

What makes this property unique

What makes our property unique is the sense of seclusion and connection to nature you feel as soon as you arrive. Set on 38 acres, our yurt offers a rare opportunity to unplug and unwind in a setting that feels completely off the beaten path—without sacrificing comfort. You’ll have views of the forest, starry night skies, and likely some wildlife sightings, but with cozy amenities like a climate-controlled space, a composting bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchenette. It’s a peaceful retreat that blends rustic charm with thoughtful touches, making it a special escape for those looking to recharge and reconnect.
