About this property

Sunrise Cove Lodge- Lakefront with Dock and Canoes/Kayaks!

Welcome to our charming lakefront rental home in the heart of Maine's Lakes Region, a true gem with over a century of history. This cabin strikes the perfect balance between rural Maine charm and modern conveniences, making it an ideal retreat for large groups seeking a serene getaway. Our idyllic property offers a taste of classic Maine living, where the natural beauty of the lake and surrounding wilderness takes center stage. If you're seeking a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life, you're in the right place. Here, you'll experience the rustic charm and simplicity that comes with staying in an 100-year-old home in a rural area. With a variety of sleeping arrangements and hang-out areas, including 2 kings, 2 queens, 2 fulls, 2 twin beds, 2 TV areas, and 2 lounge areas, this cabin ensures that everyone in the family can enjoy quality time together.

The main floor features a bright and open floor plan, perfect for gatherings. The great room offers ample space for dining, listening to music, and enjoying picturesque lake views. For those who prefer to stay on the main level, there's a convenient king bedroom with a large closet and very few steps to enter. Upstairs, you'll discover three cozy bedrooms (1 queen and 2 Fulls), a child's loft area, and a master bedroom with a king bed and bunk beds, along with a dedicated TV area equipped with smart TV and surround sound speakers for an immersive movie-watching experience. Venture into the fully finished basement, where adults can unwind while taking in stunning lake views. This space boasts a dry bar, Foosball table, record player, comfortable seating, and a 65-inch SmartTV. There's also a queen bedroom in the basement. The attached garage has been transformed into a game area with ping pong and pool tables, offering hours of entertainment for all ages.

Outside, you'll be surrounded by over an acre of lush lawns, beautiful perennial gardens, hand-built rock walls, charming bridges, and even your very own waterfall and Lilly pond. Down by the water we have a year-round permanent dock that gets an extension added to it from Memorial Day to Columbus Day. Bring your own boat and keep it on the dock, or rent one in town and come pick up the rest of the crew right from the house! We also provide kayaks and canoes for your enjoyment from Memorial Day to Columbus Day. When the sun sets, gather around the lakeside firepit, the wood is on us! Nature enthusiasts will delight in the regular visits from loons, deer, and bullfrogs.. as well as a wide variety of biting insects and the occasional rodent- This is northern Maine after all! Adventurers can explore nearby trailheads for the Appalachian Trail.

If you decide to venture out, the quaint town of Oquossoc is just 5 minutes away, offering a small grocery store/deli, a tap house, a museum, boat rentals, and a sporting goods store. A short 5-minute drive further leads to the larger town of Rangeley, where you'll find a variety of shops, bars, restaurants, and even a bowling alley with live music.

Sunrise Cove Lodge offers an exceptional opportunity to experience the best of Maine's Lakes Region, combining natural beauty with the comforts of home. We invite you to make lasting memories in this idyllic retreat.

However, there are a few things to consider:

-Summer rentals (July/August/First half of September) are week-long from Sunday to Sunday.

-The boats and dock extension are only available from Memorial Day to Columbus Day. The weather gets real in the area! We hire winter/summerization and lawn maintenance out to a company that just comes and does it when they can, so you may encounter them. We do not have a say about when they cut the lawn.

-The interior stairs may be challenging for some guests, but both levels have exterior entrances that are easier to navigate. Additionally, there's a large bedroom on the main floor with minimal steps to enter the house.

-This home is dog-friendly, but it should be noted that it is a challenging environment for dogs. The stairs inside are steep and narrow making it very hard for them to navigate. You can walk them around the outside to access the upper and lower levels, but leaving them unattended on the main level tends to lead to them scratching our wood doors- which will be noticed and charged to repair. Plus the allure of digging in the gardens or chasing the frogs in the man-made pond (with an easily tearable liner) can be too much for many dogs to resist. We are willing to allow dogs but before bringing yours please ask yourself if this is a good environment for your dog to not cause any damage to itself or our property.
-We have a general rule of not more than 100 lb "worth" of dogs with a maximum of 3. This means you can have three 30lb dogs. Two 50 b dogs, or one 100lb dog - But you cannot have three 100lb dogs.

-This is not a party house; considerate behavior is expected out of respect for nearby and full-time resident neighbors who value their peace and quiet.

.:. COVID CANCELLATION POLICY .:.
We understand that COVID-19 is affecting travel plans less and less these days, but we do still have people who want to cancel right before their trip due to a positive test for a member of their party. Although we respect and support any attempt to not get others sick, we do not believe we should bear the full financial burden of this. So in the case of a last-minute problem, we have established the below cancelation policy if a member of your group has COVID and you no longer want to stay.
-Over 7 days out from the beginning of the reservation: We will issue you a full refund.
-Between 7 days and 48 hours from the start reservation: 50% + any amount over that we are able to re-rent the unit for.
-48 hours from the start of your reservation: We will only refund you what we are able to re-rent the home for.
-We suggest testing to where you get your results 7 days out and quarantining from there.
-We require an official (from the doctor) positive covid test with a name on it and a matching ID. A picture of an at-home test does not qualify.
-We suggest purchasing travel insurance.
- Please cancel as soon as possible after providing the documents, also please note cancellations must be done before 4pm otherwise it will count as a day.

New Years Eve Stay
I stayed here over New Year’s Eve with friends and had a great time. The living room and dining rooms have beautiful views of the lake, the bedrooms are comfortable and cozy, and the kitchen is well stocked with dish and cookware, We hope to come back to experience the lake in the summer sometime!

We had a great experience staying here! Such a nice house with lots of space for everyone. Just a drive to downtown! We spent most of the time swimming and hanging out on the dock. We would recommend to large groups!

Another Great Albeit Rainy Vaca!
This is our second year at Sunrise Cove. We love the enhancements to the doc area. A little sad to see the old fireplace go, but enjoyed the fire pit just as much. It rained several days, but the house was large enough to accommodate fun times with the family playing games, cooking, eating, playing pool, sitting by the window looking at the beautiful lake. The kitchen is well stocked with every size pot or pan you need and plenty of utensils, etc. Again, we highly recommend.

Guaranteed Enjoyable
Beautiful property. Situated in a little cove so you can enjoy the lake even if it’s a little windy or choppy. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of cooking utensils, pots, pans etc. Lots of space for sleeping and chilling. We had 10 people and weren’t crowded at all. The side room off the main floor was great for the grandparents to sit and look out the window in a recliner (me too!) and we all had fun in that side room doing puzzles. We took our own two kayaks, plus the two there and canoes .. worked out great! Lots of towels. Nice fire area outside where the original cabin was. Overall, we highly recommend. One note of advice … Rangeley is awesome but if you haven’t been there before, take food because there is just one grocery on the other side of town and it’s a little pricey. Lots of local produce and fresh meats/seafood but places close early and many aren’t open M-T-W. The small local store again is great but pricey and limited hours. So no issues but just be prepared. Thumbs up.

Perfect Week in Rangeley
Thoroughly enjoyed our vacation week on the west shores of Rangeley. House was as pictured and described. Our group of eight adults and three kids ranging in age from 1 - 3 found plenty of space to cook, gather or get some quiet time in. It was convenient to be able to leave our small boat on-site at the dock (after launching at the state park- 5 mins away) and we made ample use of the canoes, kayaks and floats. Our kids loved the pond and waterfall and would run from bridge to bridge to see she water flow down the stream. We used five of the six bedrooms and found all to be comfortable. Oquossoc is a couple miles down the road and we made several trips there to enjoy the playground, ice cream and general store. Downtown Rangeley is 15 minutes away and offers more amenities and dining spots. Would highly recommend this house for any similarly-sized group!
