The perfect Vineyard getaway. Situated in a nature preserve within minutes of a private beach - the best of both worlds. The home itself is full of character and seamlessly blends the charm of an older home with the amenities of modern life. Owner and caretaker were very responsive; rooms were clean; kitchen was well-equipped - and they even provide bed linens! 10/10 would stay again.

Katherine's family was so great! Lovely people and we hope they come back!
We loved staying here-- the grounds are breathtaking, the house is spacious, and the location is very convenient for many parts of the island. The host was very communicative and easy to get in touch with throughout the trip.

Ohhh, thank you so much, Nitin!! You guys were GREAT!!! We'd love to have you back anytime!!
Wonderful 10 days with family and friends close to Vineyard Sound and the Sanctuary. The house was very clean and adequately stocked for any need. Plenty of bathrooms with good water pressure and expansive kitchen. Cooked and grilled many meals and played croquet and paddle daily. Private and nicely landscaped. Very comfortable especially with the air conditioning.

Harish and his family were lovely guests. We hope to have them back next year!
Truly a fabulous week at Megan's beautiful, quiet and relaxing property. Everything was perfect - full kitchen, gear for the beach (which is a very short drive to a secluded location), immediate help with questions, great activities on site (pickleball, basketball, hiking, beach, etc...). We brought two families: 4 adults and 5 kids and everyone really had a great time! Highly recommend this property! 5 stars!!

We loved having Karen and her family! They were absolutely wonderful guests and awesome to host! They were so appreciative of our 1800s farmhouse and I hope we get to host them again. Whoever gets to host them next on their travels is super lucky! They're the best!
We had our first big family vacation here and couldn’t have been happier with everything. Great communication and good vibes by both the owner and the caretaker. The home and property came exactly as advertised and even exceeded our expectations. Located conveniently to beaches and food. A real gem. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Tamar and her family were wonderful!! Can't wait to have them back for their annual big family vacation again next year!!
This was the perfect place to call “home” for our week on Martha’s Vineyard. The grounds of the house and the association beach were favorites for our children (ages 4-9). We couldn’t have asked for better responsiveness from Megan and Amanda. Overall, it was the ideal place for our group of 9 to enjoy a multigenerational family reunion. We will be back!

Ravi, you and your family were a fantastic crew!! You're welcome back anytime, but hopefully much sooner than you annual family reunion! Make it Christmas! Thanksgiving is better yet! Thank you for staying with us!!
Our group of three families loved our stay! The location was perfect; quiet and private but not too far from the towns. Being near Cronig’s was very convenient. The private beach was ideal for our young children. The house was beautiful and even nicer than the pictures. We had everything we needed, and having the property manager Amanda next door was so nice. We’d definitely recommend it for large groups or family reunions. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out and come together for meals. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Relaxation & Fun in a beautiful West Tisbury location
Enjoyed a wonderful week on Martha’s Vineyard at this charming, comfortable, clean, and well stocked farmhouse in West Tisbury. Our location was quiet and peaceful, with morning hikes through Cedar Tree Sanctuary to the beach, and afternoons and evenings spent exploring the unique MV sights, restaurants, beaches, shopping, sailing, biking and overall fun! Highly recommended. Homeowner and caretaker always available and helpful!

Joanne and her family were awesome! Great communication and so fun giving them Vineyard recommendations. Left the house spotless!
We stayed 5 nights in this beautiful home for a family vacation. This is a gorgeous property that worked perfectly for 4 couples and an infant. It is down a rural road and set on beautiful acres of grass and gardens. We were met by Amanda, the property caretaker. She was so welcoming and always available if we had any questions.
The home is supplied with everything you could ever need. The kitchen was beautifully outfitted and had lots of dishes, pans, etc for family meals. Each bedroom is separated nicely and the upstairs provided a lovely suite for our son, daughter-in-law and 2 year old grandson. Several family members loved using the outdoor shower.
There is a lovely private beach down the road ( 3/4 mile walk) with several walking trails in a sanctuary adjacent to it. Sunsets on this beach were gorgeous.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone. Megan, the owner, and Amanda were always available and proactive in anticipating our needs. If you want peace and quiet on MV, you really can’t beat this beautiful property.

Susan and her party were the best renters ever!! Susan even baked cookies the first day in our home and brought them over to our caretaker, Amanda...such a lovely, thoughtful gesture! If Susan and her family could just stay all summer that would be heaven...or at the very least please come back every year! :)
About the host
Hosted by Megan Kenney
We’re excited to be sharing our unique home with friends and visitors. My parents, both hard working veterinarians, summered on the Vineyard since the early 80s and eventually bought this house, embarking on a major renovation that took several years to complete. The house is filled with my mother’s original art who is a lifetime artist in addition to her career as a veterinarian.
Why they chose this property
The central house was built in the early 1700s, making it one of the oldest homesteads along the North Shore. The house, known as “The Shack on the Hill”, was owned by several generations of the Luce family, one of the earliest immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard. Ship captains owned it in the 1800s before it was eventually purchased in the 1940s by an architect from New Jersey. He preserved and maintained the original footprint of the home and gradually stabilized and added on to it over the years. After another owner, my parents bought the place and did some extensive renovations, bringing it up to modern living standards (no longer the shack on the hill)!
