The property had a gorgeous view from a wide comfortable porch. It’s an older, well maintained house with a fully stocked kitchen. Communication with the host was easy with quick responses.

This is a fantastic place to soak in the beauty of NC and enjoy the “quiet” at Bears Rest. The wraparound porch and comfortable outdoor furniture that makes it very nice to see the sunrise and sunset while sipping on a cup of coffee. The home has comfortable indoor furniture and the beds are very comfortable and easy to sleep in. The kitchen is well supplied with any utensils or cookware you might need with a large refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The host communicated very quickly and answered any questions we had and she made sure we had everything we needed. We had no trouble getting there on the road in, but I would not recommend arriving there in the dark the first time. You are not too far from lots of hiking trails and waterfalls. The location is 15 minutes to Brevard and about 30 minutes to Cashiers. Our favorite restaurant was the Jordan Street Cafe. We tried the Square Root, but felt the place was overrated. For breakfast I would recommend the Smoky Sunrise on Main Street. We tried Morning Social but had to wait 45 minutes and then the food was below average and the coffee was cold. All in all we rate Bears Rest 5 out of 5 and would definitely recommend this place to everyone and would most definitely stay there again! This is truly a special place!!

One of the best spots I've stayed in. The mountain view is spectacular. The house was clean, comfortable, cozy, and well-stocked. The property is quiet and private. My minivan didn't have any trouble with the road. The host communicated expectations and recommendations well and was responsive when I had questions.All in all, the weekend stay was ideal. My wife and I were already planning to come back while driving away.

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING about this home was beyond awesome! The hosts have done a wonderful job of making this a place where guests are comfortable and not lacking for anything. The views --- OMG stunning. Once you master the drive up the mountain, it becomes a fun adventure. If you haven't been, and are checking out the reviews - this is another one to add to the YES, BOOK IT!

The location of the house was not at all where I thought it would be based on the map in the listing/description. It was 15 minutes further away. That being said, the views were amazing, house was clean & wifi good.

You can't get any more mountain top than this house. The view was impressive. The house was clean, the beds and living room furniture were compfortable. The pictures are accurate to the listing. The first half of the drive up the mountain was pretty easy, but the second half is pretty narrow and steep. It would be pretty tight if you encountered a vehicle coming the opposite direction. Luckily, by the time you get to where the road narrows, there is only one or two other houses.The host was very responsive to questions. We would stay herer again.
