Our cabin is 20 years old. It was built by the original owner who was a carpenter and the owner of a mill. His attention to detail and craftsmanship are over the top. If you appreciate woodwork you’ll love our cabin. Fishing on the lake offers pike, walleye, perch and bass to name a few. A couple of years ago someone caught a 47” inch pike (at least this is what I’m told.)

We got away for a long weekend. It was so peaceful! The sauna was so very relaxing! Sat on the bench and watched the snow fall to cool down. Couldn't have asked for more. Thoughtful host had all the "little" things on hand that made things so much easier. Would love to return someday.
The cabin was very clean and easy to find. The small beach area was perfect for our kids to fish from. Close and convenient to everything we wanted to see. Will stay again if ever back in the area
This cozy cabin is a peaceful getaway. It’s well maintained and tidy. The sauna on the water adds to the charm We enjoyed our time there and look forward to returning
My family (husband, 3 kids, parents, and father-in-law) loved our stay. This property is relaxing, beautiful, and good location. We were content to stay and enjoy the games, fire, water, kayaks, and walks.
Would recommend it to others!
Amazing place, great for some get away from it all time yet close to everything from hiking to restaurants. We always enjoy our time here and wish we could extend when it’s time to leave. Very responsive host.
A beautiful northern cabin getaway nestled in the woods.
We love this property. It is the second time we've stayed here and just love the location and cozy feel of this cabin. They've made some nice furniture upgrades since our last stay. The location is absolutely beautiful and the cabin is all cozy nestled in the woods overlooking the basin. The kids loved the sauna!
Beautiful cabin and property with private beach, kayaks and canoe. Easy to Lake Superior, Marquette, trailheads and Picture Rocks Lakeshore. Could sleep 8 adults comfortably but just one BR takes some short term planning.
The kids all decided they were moving in, for good....they never want to leave.... and that was after just walking in the door! Plenty of space for 3 different age groups to spread out, yet still had a cozy feel. Amazingly clean, very comfortable!

Perfect Location!
We had a great time at this cabin! It was spacious and the amenities really made us feel at home! It seems like you are in a secluded area, however, it's only 15 minutes from downtown Marquette. We actually wanted to spend time at the cabin instead of going out all of the time to enjoy swimming, campfires, fishing, canoeing, and the sauna. The weather was PERFECT and the area is beautiful! Couldn't have picked a better place to stay!
Beautiful cabin. Lots of great equipment for water and other outdoor activities. Great outdoor setting. Wifi did not work well. Some of the screens also need updating. Otherwise a great stay.
A wonderful Cabin. We kayaked the river and enjoyed the stars at night. It was too hot for the sauna since we got mid 80's weather in early October, but the sauna is always a nice option. Many hiking and eating options are close to the cabin, so it's really a nice base depending on whether you want to explore the eastern part of the UP or the western part of the UP. Super clean cabin with all of the essentials.

About the host

I own a film production company that specializes in commercials in Chicago. I’ve produced independent movies as well. I’m married to a school teacher and we have two kids. When I’m not driving kids around I coach my son’s soccer team in the fall, always a good time.
Why they chose this property
We live in Chicago and my wife is from the area. We wanted a place of our own to stay when we visited family and friends because we had children who were 4 and 2 at that time. We figured that the cabin would help us build memories to cherish as we all got older. In fact during our last visit my wife and I overheard our kids talking to each other about memories of the first pig roast we had at the cabin. That really brought a smile to our faces. Beyond this we loved the location. While it’s nestled in the woods on a lake we are close to relatives, shopping and more importantly a Starbucks. If you go in the opposite direction you go deeper into the woods where you can find fishing streams and waterfalls. All the properties on the lake have an acre of land so you have separation from the neighbors. It’s a very quiet getaway.
What makes this property unique
From the minute you step out of your car you smell the clean air of the U.P., a distinctly woodsy smell. Rarely do you see planes flying overhead. Once inside the cabin you’ll marvel at the view of the lake. As I always say, “the view alone is worth the price of admission.” With each passing day you’re able to sleep in a little longer because the area is so peaceful. There is even a nesting pair of eagles that live on the basin.
