Incredible Lake Michigan Home with over 1/2 mile of public beach and amazing views of Little Sable Lighthouse. This gorgeous custom built home is built among the soft sand dunes of Mears Michigan and designed to take advantage of the beautiful views of Lake Michigan as well as the views of Little Sable Lighthouse across the street. Home is engineered to recreate the homes frequently built to house the light keepers for lighthouses built during the latter 1/2 of the 1800's along the shore of Michigan's Great Lakes. Enjoy over a 1/2 mile of soft, sandy Lake Michigan Beach that is literally directly across this quiet dead end street. Utilize the amazing powered beach wagon to effortlessly transport all your beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, food, ice cold drinks and even your kayaks and paddle boards from the home to the waters edge. Toes can be from the door to the water in 4 minutes and buried in the sand dunes right off the amazing wrap around deck. Whether you are relaxing on the deck, enjoying a gathering around the fire pit, entertaining in the living room, enjoying a movie and games in the walkout basement or hanging out in the 4th story crow's nest, you'll enjoy the most amazing views of one of Michigan's most iconic lighthouses from nearly every room in this quality home.
Little Sable Lighthouse was constructed in 1874 and is among the top 5 tallest lighthouses in Michigan at 107 feet. Visitors can stop by the small gift shop located in the public parking lot of the lighthouse to purchase a souvenir or pay a small fee to climb the internal staircase of Little Sable and get an amazing panoramic view of Lake Michigan and the surrounding dunes.
Enjoy a truly unique experience at Silver Lake Sand Dunes state park which is only a few miles north. This is one of the few locations in the united states which permits 4x4's to ride on the dunes and it has the added bonus permitting vacationers to pull their 4x4 up to an amazing Lake Michigan beach that is only accessible by 4x4 drivers and their companions.

The house and the views were exceptional! The house was very clean and exactly as described and looked in the pictures. The walk to the beach was a little more challenging than expected but the beach was beyond what we could have dreamed. Nothing beats Lake Michigan.

Our time at the Beachin’ Lighthouse Villa was amazing. This was our family’s first real vacation, so we are new to Vrbo and weren’t exactly sure what to expect. Well, our experiences there were beyond our expectations. There was SO much to do in the area, the house was beautiful and had a great layout for my family. The owners seem very kind and welcoming, and I definitely over packed, as they really had everything we needed. We made a lot of priceless memories at the beach, climbing the lighthouse, riding the dunes, having fires and s’mores, playing games, grilling and eating, going to Michigan’s Adventure, etc. My children were in love with the crow’s nest—it is so cool! I really hope we can work it out to return next year and make it an annual tradition.

Location was awesome, wish we had known the area closes down mid Sept. Was hoping to use the electric wagon to take things to the beach, but we managed. The views are awesome especially at sunset.

The rooms were comfortable and accommodating for everyone. The beds were beds and pillows were comfortable. The host was a wonderful resource for offering activities in the area or for suggestions for dining out. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials for cooking, making coffee or making espresso. The dining area has a huge table that could accommodate a crowd. There was plenty of things to do in the house if it rained. There were many games, puzzles, an arcade area with a magnetic dart board, and a pac man machine and a bar. The house was a lovely venue for watching sunsets on the large wrap around deck. The views inside the house were spectacular. In many of the rooms you could see the lighthouse and sand dunes. It seemed like it was in the yard beside the house. The house was surrounded by wild flowers and a huge lavender bush that attracted beautiful monarch butterflies. The surrounding wooded area was a natural habitat for wild animals. We saw three deer, black squirrels and beautiful butterflies. The crows nest was a good place to chill and view the lighthouse and Lake Michigan. This was our fourth stay enjoying the house, the views, nature and long walks on the beach. We are planning our return for next year with hopes of returning for many years to come.

Excellent vacation rental

We loved the house, all its amenities and the location. It was perfect for our family of 11. The children loved the games, video games and close proximity to the lake and many activities.The owners were welcoming and responsive and seemed to have thought of everything to make our stay wonderful.

Family Vacation

So thankful I came across this property while doing my search for our family vacation. The house was beautiful and location was wonderful. The view was amazing. We had storms go through in the evening while we were there and my kids enjoyed watching it come across the lake from the crows nest. Thanks for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home!

Why they chose this property

I spent my early childhood in St. Joseph Michigan, where my father and mother raised my siblings and I to appreciate the majesty of Lake Michigan in our 19’ Mercruiser tri hull boat. We moved to Brighton when I was 7 years old and when I grew to my adulthood, I was drawn back to Michigan’s west coast. I purchased a small 16’ Bayliner and took my wife and daughter to Lake Michigan several times a year.
I frequently dreamt of owning a little cottage on Lake Michigan some day. After we lost both my parents, both my in-laws and my brother within a few years span, I convinced my wonderful wife Sue to take the plunge with me. With our limited finances and the ever rising cost of properties near Lake Michigan, we decided to try our hand at renting our place out as a short term rental. We love sharing our home and providing the backdrop for so many great memories for our renters and their families. We have more than one amazing property now and we are still hoping to expand a bit more by finding incredibly unique and beautiful locations for our rental base.

The most amazing views of one of Michigan's most iconic Lighthouses with the home custom designed to take advantage of it's proximity to the Littles Sable Lighthouse and capture incredible views from the cathedral ceiling in the main living room to the lighthouse literally in your face as you step out of the master bedroom/bath and the unique view of the lighthouse from the 4th floor crow's nest. If you love walking through Michigan's dunes, you'll find so many options here as this home is literally built on a sand dune with great dune exploring on the state park directly across the street and many trail options within walking distance. Finally, you have the amazing Silver Lake Sand Dunes where you can drive your personal 4x4 on some of the most unique terrain in the country as you test your vehicle's muscle and your driving skills on the infamous Test Hill or drive your vehicle to Lake Michigan's water's edge to a beach only accessible to 4x4 owners.
