The unit was very clean, great for our dog, the mini kitchen was well stocked with coffee, creamer etc. The unit was very nicely laid out for the small space. Location was in a quiet neighborhood very close to Beech Mountain Resort. We would definitely recommend this unit to any couple with a dog or child. Thanks
The owners thought of everything to make anyone’s stay perfect. I will recommend and will be back! Thank you so much!

The room was very clean, well-organized, and comfortable. Everything was neatly arranged, creating a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The bed was cozy, the linens were fresh, and the overall space felt well-maintained. The room had enough space to move around comfortably, and all amenities provided were functional and thoughtfully placed.
Overall, it was a pleasant stay, perfect for rest and relaxation. I would definitely recommend this accommodation and would gladly stay here again.
My husband and I were in town to celebrate our youngest son's college graduation. This location was perfect for us. Our 14 year old lab had a little difficulty with the stairs but we managed. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your home
Nice compact facility with everything you need when visiting Beech Mtn. Communication with the owner was easy prior to the visit. Would stay again if I was in area.
Loved the location, a little far from activities but worth it! Clean, quiet and beautiful views from up top. Loved that it was pet friendly, would stay again 100 percent!
Had a wonderful stay with boyfriend and best friend Elly (the yellow lab rescue). It was very peaceful and accommodations for Elly were very helpful. It was a nice place for all 3 of us to come rest after a day of hiking.
We loved our weekend away in the mountains, and appreciated the cozy, clean, and very comfortable stay. Everything was easy to access from the home, and we appreciated the communication from the owners. Thank you!
This location was the perfect size for two people. We felt so cozy and thought it was very welcoming! We would recommend this place to anyone riding solo or staying with a friend/spouse. Thanks for sharing your place with us!
The guest room was so cozy & over our expectations! 5 mint to Beech Mountain and other locations. Perfect space for a couple and small dog- my fur baby love it! The recommendations for activities on point. Looking forward to return soon!

The steps could be better because carrying stuff makes it hard with rocks. But overall great and I plan to stay again next year
This property is a short hop skip and a jump away from the slopes, it’s in a gorgeous neighborhood (is it even called a neighborhood in the mountains?) and the property itself is lovely. The hosts were nothing short of amazing, the communication was easy and timely, and honestly, they go above and beyond to make the stay enjoyable. They had a fire pit, a picnic table, a hammock - all of these things available to the guests to make the stay perfect. They also provide all sorts of information and pamphlets for all the local things to do with their own little blurbs about whether they think the places are worth visiting (speaking in the case of local restaurants in that instance). We even got a visit from some locals (a family of deer greeted us as we came back from a hike, just hanging out by the fire pit watching us). Overall 10/10 would stay again AND recommend!
Great accommodations but be prepared for Steep Steps to get to it.
My husband and I stayed with our small dog on 6/21-6/23. The room was thoughtfully furnished with even supplies for our pet. The coffee area was awesome and carried everything you need to enjoy coffee which was great since we are big coffee drinkers.
The decor was lovely and the full size mattress was VERY comfortable as were the pillows.
One drawback was the frequent thumping and bumping noise from above. It did quite for the most part after about 10:30pm but the first night I heard it in the middle of the night again. I will say I'm a light sleeper so probably wouldn't wake most folks.
The mattress was very comfortable but it only had a sheet and very heavy comforter on it. While the comforter was nice and hotel like, it was HOT, even with the ceiling fan going. The second night it showed 72° in the room and way too warm for a For athick heavy comforter. We ended up removing the comforter altogether and sleeping with just the sheet and a small throw that we found in the closet over us. It seemed that the top sheet was actually a twin size sheets rather than full-size since it barely fit over the mattress, but we made do.
The outside areas were nice but very difficult to navigate, and especially if you have a had senior citizen with you. It would be impossible for a senior to navigate the steep hillside to get down to the picnic tables or grills but it is a nice amenity to offer.
All in all a great place to stay but just a few tweaks could make it absolutely amazing.

Hey Judy! I appreciate the honesty, it allows me to make things better with the space. Have talked to my son about the thumping and double checked the sheet you used for the sizing. It was a full but I can see how it can get small if two people want to wrap themselves in it. May have been the case. There's a walking trail to the grill etc too but I can see how it can be missed if not walked. Anyways, sorry for the inconveniences, will be sure to make some changes for future guests.
About the host
Hosted by Mike Martinez
I'm originally from New York, my wife from Sweden. We have 3 kids, have been married more than 15 years and are always on some kind of adventure(we actually met backpacking in India many moons ago). We moved to beautiful Beech a few years ago after escaping hot & flat Houston. We're happy to host and hope that you enjoy every minute of your stay on the mountain!
Why they chose this property
Why Beech? We visited the area a few years ago and just loved it. We were going stir crazy in hot and flat Houston where we had been for more than a decade. Especially my wife, who is used to the beautiful seasons and nature of Sweden. I was happy to be closer to family too. We then decided to make the move and don't regret it one bit.
What makes this property unique
What we love about the property: We love being surrounded by nature, seeing deers casually stroll through the backyard. Being able to have a glass of wine on the deck, sit around a backyard fire with friends, or just breathe in the fresh winter air. It's healthy for the head, the heart, and the soul!
