Located at Palm Island Resort on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast. No bridges or causeways to the island exist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting.
The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island.
Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.
Enjoy access to one of the 5 heated pools, plus hot tub and gas BBQ grills.
Tennis courts available for play and always complimentary.

Our only suggestion is clean up nails and screws especially by showers. My wife stepped on a rusty nail several years ago and had to go to local ER. We saw nails by our shower again this year.

Palm Island a peaceful and beautiful place to recharge!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was beautiful and so close to every thing.The unit itself was alright it just needs some major maintenance/upgrades. The rug in master bedroom needs to be changed and maybe tile replace it. To many spots on rug from other dogs that have stayed there. Also the furniture is in rough shape. But on the positive the view from the back porch was heavenly you could clearly hear the waves!We enjoyed our stay and are so looking forward to a return visit!!

Great location poor up keep

Palm Island is gorgeous. Peaceful and serene. The unit was ok, needs fresh paint and new rugs. The cabinets and counters are very dated, those things don't bother me much but.... The worst thing is the floor above is very loud!! The people upstairs were not loud but every time they moved the floor squeaked horribly. The upstairs tenants seemed to be up and walking back and forth all night and I couldnt sleep through the squeaking even with a noise machine and earplugs. Because of this I would not recommend this unit unless floor is fixed.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Love the remote peacefulness of Palm Island - usually. Although the beach was deserted, the condo we stayed in was extremely noisy due to upstairs neighbors & old construction. The floor joist creaked loudly anytime they walked around. As they had a small child, she was quite bouncy & contributed to the noise level. We were at their mercy for sleep schedule since the noise was a factor. The condo is in desperate need of some TLC too. Looks like it's been awhile since touched up. Broken cabinets, loose sink faucets, chipped paint, dirty walls & floorboards. Great location, but would not stay in this unit again!

The pristine beach, the privacy, the beautiful landscaping and the ultimate space to relax never disappoint. The unit was comfortable and allowed for our little dogs who were excited by the surroundings for walks and smells! We would have only a few recommendations: the beds are in need of replacement and are all really soft and sagging. The kitchen supplies need refreshing - there were lots of items missing or in low supply. The sheets: the resort changed to a blend fabric several years ago and they are not comfortable. We stay at least once a year and the beds need the high quality sheets you used to use - high thread count cotton is a big bonus - the blend being used are hot and uncomfortable. Also great to see Rum Bay back! We are there twice and it was improved even from the April stay.

B1313B is very tired

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The resort is spectacular. First class all the way. B1313B should not be rented. It is old (40 years) and little has been done to it in those years. LR and DR furniture needs replacing. The kitchen is the worst. Cabinet doors hanging off, 3 mismatched wine glasses total, 2 teaspoons, disgusting frying pans, dishware is a mixed mess. Bedding is tired and needs replacing. The whole condo needs paint. And the bedroom carpets need replacing. Neither shower would drain when we arrived. Washing machine broke during our stay and air conditioning needed repair also.

Reviewer Comments: We chose Palm Island b/c of our past experiences here and we needed a short but relaxing get away with our kids- As always the staff was great especially wit helping us choose our location prior to coming- the unit itself was a perfect location and was updated and very nice. However, the noise the noise from the upstairs unit was almost unbearable at night- It was not that they were doing anything specifically loud but just basic movement up until about midnight was abnormally creaky and made it impossible to sleep in the Master-- It seems like it is an issue with the floor/ceiling itself- Sounds weird but if you are in this unit and the 2nd floor unit is being rented just be aware. Other than that - a perfect time!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This trip was our fourth stay at PI. We have also stayed at two other off-resort properties in the area. We love the location of #1313; it's steps from the pool/ocean and close to the playground and front entrance. What we didn't love was that we could hear our upstairs tenants' at all hours of the day and night. The first couple of nights were quiet as no one was staying upstairs, but the rest of our stay we were awakened several times during the night as we could hear every footstep/flush -none of which, BTW, were the tenants' faults. They were just going about their own stay; they weren't obnoxiously loud. It's just that the insulation between the two units was next to nothing. We didn't love the outdated kitchen and master bath. The cabinets and counters were very old. To their credit they were in decent shape. The kitchen knives were dangerously dull. The hairdryer was supposed to be wall-mounted, but it was just sitting in a drawer, so I would set the base on the bathroom counter while drying my hair. A plus was the newer furnishings in the dining room and living room. But the unpolished brass sconces on the dining room wall are outdoor fixtures. On the other hand great highlights of our stay included crafts and show by Red Beard, visits to Stump Pass, hiring a boat to take us to Cabbage Key, and our daily visits to Coconuts. We loved renting the golf cart and bikes. All worked great. Coconuts' staff were terrific. Debbie, the concierge, was kind, helpful. The front gate guys were fine, but not nearly as friendly and helpful as previous years. The front desk staff took care of our check-in/out, but failed to even ask how our unit was. We worry that Palm Island is losing its luster. We have never visited the same place more than twice until Palm Island Resort. We will return, but maybe not for awhile as we weren't as"wowed" as we have been in the past. Palm Island is a special place. We hope its owners continue to care for it.

Condo 1313 Used and Abused,the rest is paradise

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been coming to Palm Island 1-2 times per year for over 20 years. My kids are now grown, but it continues to be a tradition that barring hurricanes, we meet every Thanksgiving at Palm Island. The beach is absolutely gorgeous, and the grounds and pool are amazing. We usually rent a golf cart and ride around admiring the beautiful shrubs, palm trees and wildlife. Most of the condos have been updated and are quite nice. Since it has not been redone, Condo 1313 is offered at a substantial discount. It really wasn’t much of an issue until the past two years. It is really becoming rundown but more importantly, not clean. The carpet was absolutely filthy with PET stains scattered throughout the bedrooms. Additionally, the cold-air return grill looked like it hadn’t been touched in years with a thick accumulation of dust and debris, and you could see years of crumbs adjacent to the range. The rest of the condo was clean. The WiFi was not working but they had us use the adjacent condo’s. Unfortunately, the reception was not great. Removing the unique challenges of condo 1313, Palm Island Resort is paradise on earth.

The resort has really done a great job after the hurricane damage. The staff was excellant and very accommodating, coffee maker broke, had a new one within 10 mins. We got to explore the island on a golf cart, sat on the beach with no one around, like having your own beach and picked up a bunch of sharks teeth. I highly recommend Palm Island Resort to anyone that wants to relax and get away. Beautiful!!!

Reviewer Comments: Furniture very old - sink to the bottom when sitting - back pain. No upgrades. We stay in this unit as it is the only one that allows small dogs and has great views. Elderly parents (late 80’s) allows them being able to walk to the pool as it is close by. Dead bugs and roach feces under guest bathroom cabinet under sink. Feet get filthy from floors if you go barefoot.

It was great to have family and friends there , but all of us in our separate villas. It was nice to have our privacy and yet be able to share times at the pool, clubhouse and restaurant ( Rum Bay ). The staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved the fact that cars are not allowed in the resort and that pets are allowed in some of the villas. It was a perfect place for her wedding, but we also look forward to returning for future vacations.

Annual Extended Family Vacation at Palm Island

This year we were slightly disappointed with the villa we rented. Although we were told the unit had been recently renovated with new living room and dining furniture and tile floors the rest of the unit is in need of renovation. Some of the improvements are not costly. For example, the bedspread, shams and bed skirt are old in both rooms. The hallway bathroom did not have a shower curtain only the liner. The formica on some of the kitchen cabinets is peeling. The bathrooms are very plain with absolutely no decor. My sister-in-law, Ana Prats-Villa rented a similar unit, #1211, paid the exact same rental amount for the week and her unit was exceeding superior. In fact, when we rented the units

Never rent this unit!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit is in an older building. It is on the first floor. There is no insulation between the floors. We lost 3 nights of sleep listening to the people upstairs go to and from the bathroom many times a night. Even during the day, you could hear them wherever they went in the condo. It sounded like metal creaking...close to fingernails on a chalkboard. I called the front desk and asked if others had ever complained about this, and they said yes, plenty of people had complained, but there was nothing to be done about it. They suggested renting next time in the newer part of the resort or staying on the 2nd floor. They offered us nothing for losing 3 nights of sleep. I could list a few other minor not so good things about this condo, but they pale in comparison to losing sleep every night listening to the people above us going to and from the loo. We could even hear them every time they opened the closet doors in the master. Under other circumstances, we might have loved this resort, but NO SLEEP is torture, especially when you are paying over $300 a thanks, we won't be back.

The island is very quiet and full of nature. Fishing is great off the north end of the island right off the shore. We caught a lot of huge snook every night! Accommodations are fine, not up scale but fine. The people are super friendly. They gym is fine. The restaurant is also fine.
