Loved the cabin! Exceeded expectations! It’s got everything you need. New appliances, modernized bathroom, secluded (mostly) location. There are a few other structures around but it’s super-peaceful and beautiful. I appreciate that there was shovel & salt to clear out a path for our dog. Terrific place - would love to come back!
Easy to find and the cabin was perfect for us. Completely quiet and our Dachshunds loved the long and peaceful walks. Interior very comfortable and relaxing on the front porch enjoying some brief showers was very pleasant. Listing and description was accurate which sold the rental. Property owners have a great place that’s off the beaten path and is extremely well maintained.
We greatly enjoyed our stay during the snow season (something we seldom ever see at home). The great views, sightings of elk, bighorn sheep, and deer, etc simply added to the overall experience. the cabin was great, convenient, well maintained and stocked. We would do it all over again... the 50 years and the cabin trip!
We stayed for 10 days. Other houses at the location that sort of confused us but the area is beautiful. There were cows on a neighboring pasture which I found great ... just listening to cow noises! Enjoyed the time very much.
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin in the woods. We saw a varied number of wild life including elk, deer, ground squirrels, birds, etc. The view from the porch was relaxing and outstanding. There were only 2 or 3 steps to reach the cabin porch. Internet access was good. We will be looking forward to repeating this experience in the future.
The owner Steve was super responsive. Cabin clean and as advertised. No issues at all during a week-long visit. Good location at about 15 minutes from Angelfire and 35 minutes from Taos but remote enough to feel isolated. The grounds were well maintained and easily walkable, the dirt road and surrounding land was so natural and relatively untouched no need to go to any of the mountain trails to enjoy nature. Got to enjoy the predator-prey battle between ground hogs and foxes from our cabin window all week along with a territorial crow couple. Final day a snowstorm hit and there were already 3 inches of snow on the ground at 6AM and more pouring down. One of the grounds keepers got the snow plow up and running and helped cleared the way off the property. We were able to get off the mountain from there before the snow got too intense. Overall excellent experience. Just be prepared to be at 8500 ft and the altitude adjustment that comes with it. Was a rude awakening for two naive Texans on the first day!
This cabin is not for older guests. Entry steps are steep with no railing. My husband fell when unloading car and carrying luggage up the steps. The chemical cleaners and artificial scents are strong in the house( toilet paper included). Had to air it out to enter it. Cleanliness needs a bit of work. It is very nice otherwise.
My husband and I absolutely love this cabin, I'm so glad that I chose Steve's place for our anniversary trip. The location is beautiful and peaceful, and is close to town so it's not an inconvenient trip if you need to run to the market.
The cabin is very cozy and well-stocked; we especially appreciated that the kitchen drawers are labeled so that is not difficult to find a fork or a spatula.
The only issue we had, which is mentioned in a previous review, is that we could not get the cieling fan in the queen bedroom to work whilst the light was off; something isn't working properly with the pull cord. We tried sleeping in the smaller room but I ended up finding a box fan in the queen room, so it all worked out with the box fan and the windows cracked.
Our favorite part about staying here was the meadow just by the cabin. Several mornings there were elk grazing and we were very entertained by the prairie dogs nearby; we loved their funny little barks and enjoyed watching them run around and being silly.
We would definitely stay here again, thank you!
Very quiet secluded cabin. Back in the trees, yet sitting up high enough to have a serene view of a field where you can see nice and far from the large patio. The living area could use a couch instead of just cozy chairs. Kitchen and bathroom were really nice.
Had some heating problems, but were fixed. Fan light in one room was not working correctly. Washer spin cycle did not seem to be working cloths always come out soaked. Cozy nice location clean cabin close to town. As a family we enjoyed our stay.
The Angel Fire cabin was just what we were looking for. The view was amazing and our pups enjoyed the wide open spaces. The cabin was clean and there were plenty of kitchen items to be able to cook. There could have been more eating utensils and the blinds and ceiling fan in one of the bedrooms need a little maintenance, but these minor issues didn’t take away from our comfort while there. Hope to return one day.
This small cabin was set in a forrested area facing a meadow. It was a perfect setting for our vacation. We especially loved to ability to let our Doberman pair to run free and experience the nature.
