Right on the Beach with no streets to cross: a North End Hidden Gem Family Home!

This classic Tidewater Virginia beach house located in the exclusive residential area known as North End Virginia Beach, is the ideal spot for your beach vacation. The same family has owned this wonderful two-story oceanfront house and the adjacent oceanfront lot since 1958. Since then, the home has been continually upgraded by the owners with the end result being that they have created a place where you can relax in a comfortable and welcoming old fashioned Tidewater environment while also having access to 21st century amenities like high-speed wireless internet and satellite TV with flat screen televisions in the family room and King bedroom. For home security purposes, there is an external surveillance camera on the premises for monitoring the driveway and parking area of the property.

The house has direct access to the beach and we are as close to the ocean and dune line as zoning allows. Our beach house is off the main road so there's no traffic driving by but it's a very short walk to the beach ramp so we have the best of both worlds--privacy and accessibility! Once on the ramp, you can easily roll your gear all the way to the water's edge using our Wheeleez beach cart and "set up camp" for a great day of beach fun.

Two oceanfront 4 season sun rooms with ceiling fans and comfy seating options provide private getaways from the main family living and dining area. The family and dining area are open concept and still retain the home's original large exposed wooden ceiling beams and traditional Pickwick tongue and groove pine panelling on the walls. In this space, also, we have a Baldwin piano that's available for our guests to enjoy. On our screen porch, your options for relaxing and hanging out include the wooden porch swing and cushioned sofa or you might enjoy sitting at the wooden table (seats 8) and grabbing a bite to eat. The screen porch is right off the kitchen so whether it's for early breakfast, quick lunch and back to the beach or for cocktails and dining at sunset it's the place where everyone likes to gather together.

Landside (what we consider to be the back of the house), adjacent to the screen porch, is our outdoor paver patio with even more seating options. Overhead we have installed a large rectangular sunshade with SPF for your daytime patio enjoyment and, in the evening, the warm white Edison light bulbs and ground lighting come on to enhance the outdoor ambiance. The back yard also includes a grassy area, teak benches, our completely private covered outdoor shower, and a clothesline--really great for drying bathing suits and towels after a day on the beach. Ocean side (front of the house), in case you fancy a little privacy while you sit and listen to the sounds of the ocean just over the dune, we have a pair of Adirondack chairs and a fire pit. It's your vacation so you get to choose which of these options you'll want to claim as "your spot" for spending an evening under the stars with family and friends!

The second floor sun deck with lounge chairs & tables overlooks the ocean and is perfectly positioned to catch the ocean breezes blowing over the dune.

This property offers the unique amenities of a large covered outdoor shower house with hot & cold water & dry changing area plus our own private adjacent sand dune with green area where we have space for additional guest parking - truly a hot commodity at the beach!

Our house is rented by the week only from Sunday to Sunday. Check-in at 4pm and Checkout at 11am.

The home sleeps Nine Persons in four bedrooms with one king bed, one queen bed, and five twin beds. All bedrooms are on the second floor. Kidco Pea Pod Plus Midnight Travel Sleeper and/or Pack & Play are available for our littlest guests by request.

We provide a Wheeleez beach cart, 9 beach chairs, 2 beach umbrellas, yard games for the entire family to enjoy and, for the little ones, boogie boards, a kiddie wading pool and beach toys. We provide a Weber kettle style charcoal grill and grilling utensils. In our back yard and on our private dune there are seating options so you can sit outside and enjoy the salt air and ocean front vibe as you wait for dinner to be served on the screened porch.


Edgar Cayce's A.R.E Health Center and Spa and natural food restaurant, Café 67, are located just three blocks from our home. The entrance to First Landing State Park South Entrance is 1/2 mile from the house and the Virginia Beach Boardwalk and Resort Strip with all its activities is 2 miles away. If you don't feel like driving, it's a safe walk or bike ride to all of these using the access road that parallels Atlantic Avenue. The Virginia Beach Aquarium and Adventure Park and Ocean Breeze Water Park are all within 6 miles. Busch Gardens, Water Country and historic Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown are an hour away.
