If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle , this is a great place to stay . Wild horses are everywhere and a short drive to the beach with plenty of room to set up . The owners were great hosts.
Large house with lots of great features. Walking distance to wide sandy beach with horses present in the neighborhood. Loved the pool and hot tub and volleyball court too.
Ocean's End was a great house to have a mini family reunion. It was nice having everyone under one roof. It was pretty amazing to see the horses on the beach and even better when they wandered onto the property. Mark and Carol were very responsive hosts. They were very communicative and promptly addressed any questions/concerns we had. The only negative experience was that it wasn't thoroughly cleaned when we arrived. Due to unforeseen travel delays, we arrived after midnight, so the issues we had could not immediately be addressed. We had to take care of them ourselves. There was an open can left in the refrigerator, trash under one of the beds, one of the bathrooms had definitely not been cleaned, and two of the pool lounge chairs had holes in them. Before going to bed we ended up spending a couple of hours cleaning and doing laundry. It was not the way we had hoped to kick off our vacation.
We saw wild horses everyday, more so in the mornings and evenings. The location is remote about a 30 to 45 minute drive along the beach to get to the paved roads of Coralla. We cooked all our meals at the beach home finding the kitchen well equipped to do that. There is one fridge on the ground floor with another in the main kitchen so lots of food storage space. The owners were easy to communicate with and responded to questions quickly. The beach was an easy walk away. We used a Jeep to transport chairs, umbrellas etc but the beach was close enough, people in the group could walk to and from the beach or use the Jeep as needed. The fire station was next door with an ice machine to buy ice. All 6 bedrooms had a connecting bathroom giving family members privacy from one another. Many of bedrooms had doors going to decks. The upper decks were not covered so you can sit in the sun and provided views of the ocean. My favorite place to sit was the deck on the second floor which was covered by the deck above with a nice breeze. I watched the horses from that deck most of the time. Very nice clean property and I would stay there again.

Great family vacation
Loved the location. Wonderful place to take family.
We arrived at the property but had to call owner to get us in the property manager never answered her phone.
We were not given enough towels and was told the day before that the washer was broken. This was an ongoing issue from January and still had not been addresses. There were plastic bottles filled with cigarettes butts and water on second floor patio and that bedroom smelled of cigarettes. That was not the worst of.it we discovered. Same bedroom mattress cover had blood stains and the shower wall and curtain had a bloody hand print. Remember no washer to use. We again spoke to Mark the owner, who seemed very concerned. Was also concerned that property manager had not contacted us. This was Sunday. He asked for photos and said she would be there first thing Sunday morning. She never showed. I let Mark know this and also how unhappy I was with the current situation. He did offer to reimburse us the remaining nights if we wanted to leave. I told him that we had all taken days off from work and drove down here. That this was our vacation, I just wanted it remedied. He assured Rhonda would be there in the morning. Rhonda did show at 9 am and when I explained starting with the not enough towels for the amount of people. She immediately claimed that there were, she had inspected the property herself.
My husband told her that was a lie and she proceeded to call Mark.
When I continued with my complaints of blood and no washer. She insisted she wanted to see the mattress cover. When she was shown she told us that the lady before told her that they had spilled chocolate on the bed. Clearly these were red not brown and if that was the case why wouldn't you have washed your hands in the sink instead of handling the shower wall and curtain. Also if she inspected the property why were dirty bloody items left for the next renter. Clearly she had not inspected nor had anyone spilled chocolate.
Rhonda in an attempt to have the heat taken off her and her inability to properly do her job, began accusing us of smoking marijuana in the house. No one smokes even cigarettes in my family, let alone marijuana. I found this to be very offensive.
Rhonda did return with towels 5 more but they were stained and smelled horribly. We ended up leaving on Friday because we had had enough of no washer and no real support from Rhonda.
It really is a shame that Mark entrusts his house to incompetent property manger.
The property manager and owners were very easy to communicate with during our stay. We had some issues with the washing machine not working properly during our stay and it was not fixed while we were there. The owners are aware and stated they are working on the problem. Rhonda the property manager was very responsive in unclogging the shower drain in one of the rooms. We did have a safety issue with a light fixture falling during the night which was a little scary. The owners were made aware and stated they would address it. Overall the condition of the house is fair to good but has room for improvement.

With an engaged and helpful, accessible property manager, it could have been a much better stay. Bed bug spray left in the Master BR was not a good sign. Getting the kayak was way too complex. Never saw any sign that the pool guy had been. We've stayed at Carova houses 6 times now. This was the worst experience. First and last stay at Oceans End.
We had a wonderful week at Ocean’s End. Mark was very prompt in reaching out to me initially after we rented the property and then also right before we checked in to answer all my questions. The house was clean and well furnished for a great week with my grown kids and husband. So close to the beach and the pool was fantastic.
This was our 4th year at the house. We love spending time on the beach and enjoy the horses coming by. We love watching the birds. The fire department is right across from the house so it makes it convenient to get ice. The house is as described. Beach houses get alot of wear and tear especially rental properties, however the owners are working to keep up with the property and taking care of repairs. Manager and owner are great to work with.
Vacationed with our adult children, spouses, Navy friends, children and spouse. What a great week and a great house! All were nervous about the beach driving, but by the middle of the week it was no big deal. Loved the location, view, proximity the the beach and the wild horses. The horses seemed to be drawn to Ocean's End. The came by the house and grazed in the yard several times during the week.
Mark communicated all relevant information, and Rhonda was attentive to our needs. Our son-in-law left some shirts in the closet, which she recovered and mailed back. Would book this property again if available for our next trip.
Every year we do a large family trip to a beach. This year we choose Carova and we’re lucky enough to find this property and booked it. When we arrived the property manager hadn’t made it yet. She went ahead and gave us the code so we weren’t waiting outside. Upon entering the property was very clean and everything was as described in the posting. Throughout the stay I spoke with Rhonda the property manager multiple times as she was just super friendly, not to mention I wanted to check on her after her accident. I also spoke with Mark who called to check in on us to see if there was anything we needed. The location of the house is perfect. The horses hang out there every day. Manager and owner are both 5 stars in my books. We will definitely return again!!! Thanks for having us.
This house was an amazing place to stay, there were 11 of us, ranging in age from 2-76 yrs. The horses came by almost every day & were fantastic to see. We were close to the beach & really enjoyed the pool, although it was a bit smaller than I thought. It was certainly adequate as we were never all in it at the same time.
Beds were comfortable & Rhonda was very accommodating as we arrived almost 2 hours early after a 10 hour trip. The house was clean & better stocked than had been stated. Unfortunately the swing set was no longer there & would have been perfect for the little ones but in the end didn't matter. There were many lights out, maybe due to the recent storm & they were way too high for us to change. Lots of games & toys for the little ones. The grill had not been cleaned by the last people so we did that & found we had to undo the propane tank every time before we used it & bleed the line but then it worked fine. Loved all the porches & spent most of our time out there or at the pool. You really do need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to access this remote spot but it is serene & peaceful. All in all it was a great place to stay & the kids had fun with the kayaks. Thanks so much.
Property is good, meets all our needs. We have been traveling to the outer banks for many years now, and we enjoy fishing and gathering on the beach, so it makes more since for us to leave out things packed on the trucks and drive to the beach daily. We spend all our time on the beach or just relaxing at the house. We have no desire to go out and about for other activities so Oceans End gives our family exactly that. We love having the tower next to the house it makes it easy to find our way home in the dark. The house manager and owner are great to work with.
It was a very nice place. you can see the ocean from the top floor and it was a 5 min walk to beach or we also drove right on the beach which was pretty much our own private beach. Only disadvantage is 30 min ride on the beach to get to a store.
The house was perfect! Everyone enjoyed the pool and the beach! It was so nice to see the wild horses everyday at the house. Also we watched the osprey's feeding their babies in their nest in a tower by the fire station.
From August 17th to August 24th myself and 14 other members of my family had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Oceans End! The house itself was amazing, clean and more then enough room for my family. They say first impressions are everything and this house gave a great first impression! Everything that is advertised is true! We saw wild horses every day of our vacation. So close you can almost touch them, but don’t 😉. The drive on the beach while long was an amazing experience as well.
One of the best days we had was on the lake with the canoes, paddle boards and kayaks. This day was made possible because of Rhonda who was very accommodating and tolerated our eagerness to be in the water very well. She met us at the lake after several phone calls and some coordinating and explained everything to us and even let us use extra kayaks.
I can go on and on about how great this house and the owners were but my advice is to experience it yourself! Trust me and my family when we say you will not be disappointed!
Thank you Mark and Rhonda for an amazing 2019 family vacation from my family to yours!!
We received the best customer service from Mark and Rhonda 💜
I’ve been renting houses for years and someone should take note of how efficient -friendly and helpful both Mark and Rhonda were our entire stay
Ocean’s End was a great property for our family’s annual beach vacation. We were looking for a new location and have found an excellent choice on the 4x4 beach of Corova. Mark was excellent in communicating with us and presents a nice, clean, and spacious home. Mark’s on-site manager, Rhonda, was helpful and timely with any request. If you are looking for a completely chill vacation and want to experience something remote, yet accessible, Ocean’s End in Corova Beach is an excellent choice. Thanks for a great week Mark!
This location and property is awesome. The property owner and manager are easy to contact.
The home is is great. The access is easy amd the communication and friendliness of the owner and manager is great. We needed another set of sheets and the manager was there within 15 min to bring them.

About the host
Hosted by Mark Morris
Our family first visited this area of the OBX about 15 years ago and absolutely loved it. We decided to bring our family back in the summer of 2016 and vacation. While we were on vacation we began to entertain the idea of looking for a place we could own. After looking at some houses and enjoying our vacation we had to leave but the idea of finding our own place stuck with us. We returned to look at several house in Oct and fell in love with Oceans End. We closed in Dec of 2016 and spent Christmas in the house as a family. Although not ideal for swimming we enjoyed the wide open beaches, horses and time together as a family. We currently live in Pennsylvania but hope to spend winter months on the Outer Banks once we retire. We have already started filling this house with wonderful family memories and if you decide to vacation at Oceans End we will do everything we can to make sure your wonderful memories become a part of Oceans End as well.
Why they chose this property
We love the natural look. No paved roads. Very secluded and quiet. We love the fact that we are living in an area that protects the wild horses. It is great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Nags Head area and be somewhere out of the way.
What makes this property unique
We enjoy the privacy of our pool and hot tub. We love to wake up in the morning and go out on the deck and see the ocean on one side and the sound on the other. There are always wild horses in our yard to greet us. They are very calm, fun to watch, and are used to people being around but we need to keep our distance for their sake. We also love the closeness to the ocean front and enjoy long quiet walks on miles of beach front where very few people come. It's wonderful!
