About this property

New ! Waterfront Oasis w/private deck on the River

Stay at River Song House - your own private waterfront hideaway with 4 bedroom / 2 full bath and a relaxed, designer vibe. Grounds slope down to a private waterfront deck, a patio, a fire pit and your own direct frontage on the Esopus Creek! Perfect place for couples, friends, or family get- togethers.
Living area with river views & comfy couches, hand-made 8 seater local wood dining table, side deck with seating, full kitchen with butcher-block island, bonus open mudroom/ meditation/yoga/work space! Central location - close to Woodstock, Rheinbeck, Kingston, Saugerties, hikes, shopping & more !

River Song was originally built back in 1930, as a fisherman's cottage. We're NYC photographers and fell in love with the house & property the first time we saw it. We decided to expand & renovate the house, as our vacation getaway. We had a curated, chill, Zen- meets- rock'n'roll vibe in mind. We hope you like it !
Original music photography & 1950's movie posters decorate the walls - a nod to the rich musical and artistic heritage of the Hudson Valley.

Check out the water views from the living area with cathedral ceiling, vintage leather couches & a dining area with an 8 seater table made from raw-edge Catskill Pine. The large kitchen has everything you need for cooking meals plus a butcher block counter window to sit & chat with whoever is making the food.. or mixing the drinks.

Most of the house in on one level, including Living room, Kitchen, Dining area, 3 of the bedrooms, & the 2 bathrooms plus a mudroom / yoga room with a reclaimed barn-wood work table & chair, if you need to work.

THE BEDROOMS

#1 The Primary Bedroom has a luxury KING size bed, double closet, 2 nightstands dresser & TV

#2 QUEEN size bed with large closet, dresser & 2 nightstands

#3 FULL size bed with large closet & 2 nightstands

#4 Upstairs there are 2 small rooms - one with an original 1930 built-in single wooden bed, plus a bonus room that can be configured with a single pull-out futon chair bed or used as a meditation/reading space.
There's also a table & chair for writing or just siting by the window looking down to the water !

Outside there's a back deck with built-in seating & chairs for morning coffee. The gently sloping yard goes down past a boathouse shed ( not in use), to a waterfront patio area with multiple Adirondack chairs, a separate fire pit area and your own dock / deck directly on the water !

Things to Note:
- No smoking or parties, events or large gatherings are permitted
- There is off street parking on the driveway and free street parking too.
- The front of the property has a one bed apartment with it's own entrance, which is rented separately and not included. You may see another car on the driveway and please leave one space free, if you have multiple vehicles.
People with children or mobility issues please note that this is a waterfront property and is bordered on one side by the Esopus Creek, with a sloping yard down to the banks of the Creek & deck/dock open to the water. At the front of the house, on the other side of the street, there's a train track with a slow-moving freight train that will trundle past, on no fixed schedule, from time to time. It's not especially loud (some folks say they love the sound, but be aware if you think that would bother you! )
River Song House is a peaceful, beautiful spot to gather, relax & unwind... and sit sit by the beautiful Esopus Creek and watch life float

I’m originally from England and my partner Kellie is from New England ! We are both professional photographers. When we’re not traveling for shoots , we split our time between NYC, Nyack NY and the Saugerties area - never far from The Hudson River !
We like to travel whenever we can & experience new places and I have visited over 40 countries around the World.
We love this area & we’re so happy we get the opportunity to offer our home to visitors. It's such a great area- full of history & beauty - and a great place to base yourself when exploring the Hudson Valley

Why they chose this property

We love the waterfront location of RiverSong Cottage and being able to watch the Seasons change and the wildlife float by !
We wanted somewhere large enough to host groups and have a big dining table - so having 4 /5 bedrooms plus the open mudroom is perfect. There's enough rooms and space to do meditation, yoga & a work area too.
The location is amazing - with supermarkets & stores only 5 minutes away - yet still surrounded by great nature hikes and trails. Plus Saugerties, Rhinebeck, Woodstock and Kingston are all less than a 20 minute drive away.

What makes this property unique

Being on a little hill is great - which gives us a great view and no chance of flooding. We love that the original house was built in 1930, making it almost 100 years old. We preserved the original wood floors and built-ins, which really adds to the cool feel of the house.
