Now our third annual stay, this cottage offers a nice retreat with a comfortable rustic setting and spacious outdoor space with beautiful lake views. The owner was friendly and very responsive throughout the stay.
Our stay was awesome. EVERYTHING was provided that you would want at a cabin. Neighbors to the north were extremely friendly and we had a great time. Hoping to do it again.
This cottage has been in the same family since 1964! It was a true pleasure to stay and enjoy the lake, sunsets, and just relax on the property. The cottage is clean and very well maintained. We will definitely stay here again!
A very comfortable and cozy cottage. A great place to get away from everything and relax. I loved just sitting outside on the hammock and the dock listening to the lake sounds, especially the Loons.
Cottage was probably the cleanest place we’ve rented. Perfect location on a beautiful lake with super nice neighbor! We would definitely go back!

Stephanie and her guests were perfect renters. They were respectful, clean and left the cottage in wonderful condition. We certainly hope they will return, as we would love to host them again.
We found the Sunset Hideaway to be the best rental experience we've had in the Hubbard Lake area. The cottage is spacious and updated but, still gives you that up-north feeling. It had just about everything we needed and the view is amazing. The owners hospitality and communications with us was top notch. We hope to rent there again.

Thank you Kathy. We are so glad you had a great time and look forward to hosting your vacation in the future.
We visited Hubbard Lake (Churchill Point) for a wedding. Very lucky to find Sunset Hideaway!
2 couples stayed, so only used 2 of the 3 bedrooms. We had unusually chilly weather when arrived so did not get to use all the property offered- fire pit, the lake, & renting a pontoon to enjoy the water and a sunset!
But we were able to enjoy a beautiful lake views from the cottage through the wall of windows while enjoying our coffee. Plus walk out on the huge deck and see the millions of stars at night. Can only imagine how this cottage would be with great September weather or even better during the summertime with the breeze off the lake. Very clean and decorated with an up north feel. The host was easy to work with! Everything you would need! Would like to come back someday.

Thank you Beverly. You are welcome to stay anytime. We hope we can host your next vacation!
We wanted a cottage that would be located on the lake, near hiking and parks, within a decent distance to Alpena and places to eat, and still be quiet and clean. It delivered on all! Lori is easy to work with and definitely tries to make sure you get the most of your visit. The cottage is very well stocked, although we ate out mostly! It was only two of us so we had plenty of room. It would have been absolutely perfect if Mother Nature would have helped out - but the rain held off for hikes and visiting Alpena. Although the kayaks were available, the lake was not boater (any boat) friendly :) We would consider staying here again!

Thank you Tressa, I am so glad you had a nice time.
The cabin was great for the 5 of us. It has that rustic vibe with a modern touch.
It had everything, all the amenities of home (griddle, microwave, utensils, keurig. and a mixer for pancakes)
The main room floor had nice tile, the bedrooms had hardwood floors. The bathroom waa modern and recently updated.
We never ran out of hot water, even with 5 showers in the morning.
There was a lake view from the living room. There was seating for 8 at the fire pit and plenty of wood was provided.
We loved having Kayaks to paddle around the lake.
There's a coffee shop and restaurant nearby if you don't want to manage on your own.
I'd recommend stargazing from the dock after s"mores. If that's not your thing, the host provides games and kids toys and the main room is large enough for all to gather and read books or surf using their wifi.
