Lovely rustic cabin, impeccably clean, comfortable and well outfitted. I’ll be staying here for sure next time I’m in Bozeman. Rancher Ron, the owner, is quite a colorful guy.
Hosts were very friendly and provided great local information. Cabin was clean and well stocked with essentials. Good location to explore Bozeman and Yellowstone is an easy drive for a day trip. Would gladly stay again.
Cabin is quaint, peaceful, and beautifully restored. Tucked away enough that its private and quiet, yet close to many stores. Owner is easily accessible and quick to respond.
We just stayed for 9 nights at the cabin and it was so perfect. The place is so clean and well equipped with all the amenities. We enjoyed breakfast on the porch overlooking the pond/mountains and seeing the wildlife at your doorstep!
Kate was a great hostess, amenable to a quick change of plans and was great with communication. Cabin is as shown, a peaceful location not far (in Montana terms) from town.
Ron and Kate were wonderful hosts and very responsive to any questions. They greeted us at the cabin and explained all the workings which was so helpful. The cabin was very clean and so comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend their place.

It was perfect! Great place...home away from home. Ron and Kate are so welcoming! And Kate's quilts as decor are absolutely beautiful. We are already planning our next visit.
These folks and their beautifully appointed cabin made our stay in Bozeman! Couldn't have been more comfortable in any way ...and we adored getting to know the character that rented it to us! More than we hoped for cant wait to return!!! Just perfect in every way!!!
Lovely secluded restored cabin. Full of turn of the century artifacts and vibes. Every necessary amenities provided. Close to Downtown Bozeman yet a world away. Will be back.
Kate and Ron were fabulous host of this old, fabulously perfect cabin. They both were charming and full of knowledge not only about their ranch and surrounding area but of the State of Montana. The cabin’s location was perfect for our stay. Highly recommend. Hope you guys enjoyed the pastalaya we left for you.
We absolutely loved this home! The cabin is as charming as can be with all the furnishings anyone could need. Our days were packed with fishing area rivers and exploring Yellowstone and we wished we had planned a day to just enjoy the cabin. The location is perfect, so close to downtown Bozeman. We found this to be a great home base for exploring Yellowstone. Thank you to the lovely hosts for making this place so special…can’t wait to return!
Oh my goodness. A beautiful cabin close to everything, yet tucked away. Communication with Kate and Ron was a breeze. The cabin was clean with all the amenities of home and beautifully decorated. The only drawback for me, was the marine style toilet in an otherwise modern bath.
Close to Bozeman and many hiking trails. It was only a 90minute trip into the north entrance of Yellowstone. The drive was spectacular.
The hosts met us when we arrived. The cabin is very unique and depicts a life from long ago while giving you the necessary accommodations to make your stay enjoyable.
The hosts have made a conscientious effort to make the cabin a positive experience. The water is hard, but they've added softener and it even takes good. Coming from Oregon that is a big compliment.
The kitchen is well equipped and even has oil and some nice spices. The shower is great, and the towels are excellent. The bed was comfortable, and we slept well. When I asked for additional pillows, she promptly brought them to us.
I really enjoyed the back porch. There are several types of birds to watch, a deer did walk through our yard, a baby bunny and only a few giant mosquitos. lol, but the host had bug spray available for that purpose.
I just can’t say enough about this property and these hosts. It is so perfect for a couple. The bed & pillows are scrumptious. Bath towels as well. Cabin is wonderfully appointed and we never needed 1 thing except help to light the gas fireplace one night as it got rather chilly outside and Ron came right over after our call. Sitting on the porch each morning with coffee was so peaceful and enjoyable. The location is superb as Bozeman city is literally only minutes away yet you feel like you’re way out in the country. We saw deer, rabbits, lots of birds, a fox even! We took day trips everyday and it’s so easy to get around to lots of beautiful places. North entrance to Yellowstone is maybe an hour? Very easy. The city of Bozeman is wonderfully charming with great shopping. They have included in a welcome book lots of places to eat, etc. was very helpful. I simply can’t say enough about how perfect this home away from home is so if you’re considering Bozeman as a starting point for discovering Montana, say here.
Wonderful - Special - Peaceful & Fantastic Getaway :)
My wife and I needed a spot to stay while we were getting our floors replaced in our home. When I reached out to Kate about us making a longer than normal stay, she was absolutely wonderful to work with.
When first seeing this very special little homestead cabin, we thought it might be fun and cool. As it turned out, we quickly realized how fantastic this hidden gem was. Although very close to town and easily accessible to all that Bozeman has to offer, we both felt like it was miles away from all the crowds that sometimes can be hectic tiresome. We quickly realized what a wonderful & peaceful retreat the “Bannack Homestead Cabin” became to us and not just a “house” to spend time in while floors were being replaced.
All in all, this is a great spot if interested in visiting Bozeman -or- simply a nice little retreat when you just want to turn off and relax. We won’t soon forget our wonderful mornings while sitting on the front porch enjoying the views of The a Bridger’s, The Gallatin Mountains and Spanish Peaks ... not to mention the sound of the old ‘working’ windmill ☕️
In other words, I highly recommend :)

We found the cabin perfect and enjoyed our week
long stay! It is equipped with everything we needed. The host are full of great information and directions. The cabin is cozy and so cute, with many special touches. The kitchen is fully equipped and we did enjoy some meals we prepared. WiFi was great with ample TV entertainment.
A perfect way to enjoy Montana!
Thanks Ron and Kate!
This property is amazing. Location was close to downtown and the airport, yet you get as if you were in the middle of nowhere. Private. Amazing views. Modernized rustic cabin. Comfortable bed. Ron and Kate were amazing hosts and assured a great stay. We will be back for sure.
This property was outstanding in every way, from the gracious hosts/owners who live nearby to the eco-friendly features of the cabin such as reclaimed wood, recycled water and even an RV-style commode! Kate & Rancher Ron were informative, helpful and responsive. We had beautiful mountains and canyon vistas for our viewing pleasure, warm days, cool nights and a well-stocked cabin with all the creature comforts possible. Amazing experience!!
Ron and Kate have created a masterpiece! The past comes alive with all the modern conveniences with responsible conservation! Truly an amazing property that results in the most restful and peaceful stay. Everything was perfect!
This cabin is such a slice of heaven and history! We truly felt as though we had a cabin on the prairie, with a watering hole that attracted deer and birds. The cabin had everything that we needed, was very comfortable, and was still close to everything that Bozeman has to offer. The hosts are available and helpful. After having adventures each day, we spent hours just laying back and relaxing on the porch with a cup of coffee.
Nothing better than that! A great find!
