Whether you are seeking the perfect romantic retreat or a weekend getaway with a family member or friend, the Pacific Crest Cabin will not disappoint!
From the moment you enter the Carriage House you will notice the craftsmanship & the attention to detail the owner put into building this cabin. The open floor plan is warm & inviting with total privacy, comfort, and luxury that you will find throughout. The high ceilings & wood beams definitely give this space a modern~rustic vibe.

The Kitchen has beautiful custom cabinets, a farm house sink, and quartzite counter tops. It has all new appliances & amenities perfect for preparing your favorite meals.

The main space features a beautiful gas fire place, a comfortable queen size bed and one built-in "alcove style", twin size bed. (Keep in mind, the alcove bed is better suited for smaller teens & ideal for kids)! Adjacent to the bed is a clothes closet with luggage racks for your convenience. There are extra linens, blankets & pillows.
On cool mornings or evenings, cuddle up on the love seat which is anchored at the end of the bed. It's the perfect spot for a romantic evening by the fire.... or just a chill night watching Netflix.

Guest will also have additional access to an outdoor area overlooking the Wenatchee river. (Follow the natural path near the lower end of the driveway which leads to the two Adirondack chairs). Enjoy morning coffee or star gaze in the evening. This little spot is a perfect place to read or listen to the sound of the river with a private mountain view.

We have personally taken the Northwestern Trailways bus service which takes about 3 hours from Seattle. The drop off point is less that a quarter mile from the Cabin. (76 Gas Station on the intersection of HWY 2 and Icicle Road).
Another option is to take the Amtrak Train, which is about 3 hours and 20n minutes from Seattle. The Leavenworth Train Station is about 2 miles outside of town. We are happy to pick up our Guests if we are available or you can use the local Taxi Service. (Leavenworth Shuttle and Taxi Service).
Once you arrive, town center is a quick walk from the Cabin.... where you will enjoy various town events, dining, and many shops. For outdoor enthusiast, the local sports shops rent ski equipment, snow shoes, bikes, and more. Gotgeous Place. No detail missed.
One of the finest VRBO's I've ever stayed at. Absolutely gorgeous handbuilt cabin. Close to everything in Leavenworth. All of the instructions for the unit were clear and easy to follow. Truly amazing to stay in a place that was built with this much attention to detail and care. An extremely well run rental. Thanks so much to Colleen and Mike for sharing it with my daughter and i. Very kid friendly. Cant wait to come back!

This cabin is absolutely beautiful as is its setting! The hosts (Mike & Colleen) are two of the nicest and most helpful people we have ever met (actually wish they were our neighbors)! This property is so close to town yet in a setting that makes you feel as if you are in the woods! The cabin is super clean, (like brand new) with a well stocked kitchen, an amazing bathroom, comfy bed and so much bigger than any hotel suite!! We stopped at Pikes Place Market on the way up, loaded up on seafood and Beechers cheese/ Mac & Cheese and cooked some amazing meals in their beautiful, mountain home kitchen!! If you ever visit Leavenworth, you could not find a better place to stay than this cabin! HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

About the host

Host profile image
Growing up in Seattle, my family vacationed east of the mountains (the sunny side) and that is when I fell in love with this area. After retiring from being a commercial airline pilot for over 36 years, it was my dream to build a log cabin.
My brother Mark and I broke grown and this project quickly became a labor of love. Early on, I changed my original plans and decided to add the Carriage House… which is located at the lower part of our property. The main cabin is steps away and overlooks the river.
It is my hope to share this special setting with Guests who enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature.
Now that the cabin is completed, my girlfriend, Colleen and I will be putting finishing touches on our home, landscaping, building a garden and best of all exploring more places to hike, camp, raft and just have fun.

Interaction with Guests:
We definitely enjoy meeting our Guests, yet like to give you your privacy. If you would like suggestions regarding hiking or the area, please let us know. We want to provide guidance to ensure our Guests have a lovely stay.
Although we are often on the property, there are times we will be out of reach. That said, we will always do our best to respond promptly.
When we are vacationing, our “Super” Co-host Shannon will oversee our property and she will be available to assist Guests.

Note: Guests have full access to the entire Carriage House, with complete privacy.
There is plenty of parking space for our guests.

Other things to Note:
Owners live on property, however; their Cabin is separate from the Carriage House. It is located farther up the driveway and overlooks the river. You may see them during the day working around the yard… but, they are considerate of Guests & ensure plenty of privacy.

Why they chose this property

When I first started looking for property to build the cabin, I had several goals in mind.
First, I wanted to be near water, have evergreen trees, and be located near town....but, feel like we living on the edge of the wilderness. When I found this property, I knew this was going to be my new homestead.
One of the best things about living here is it is located on Icicle road which is the main road that leads to many of the best kayaking, hiking trails and climbing areas… yet it is moments from town center.

Favorite hikes include the Enchantments which are regarded as one of the most spectacular regions in the Cascades. Take a drive alongside the Icicle river where you'll find epic views that are definitely Instagram worthy!

Leavenworth Golf Course is within walking distance and has a great club house to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. Plus they have a fun simulator to play a round of golf or other fun activities.

The Fish Hatchery is about 1.5 miles up the road. Just a mile farther you will find the Sleeping Lady Resort. Great place to take a stroll through the trails and grab a bite to eat. Its a cool place to try that is off the beat and path a bit. We enjoy going for drinks in the evening at Steeping Lady's Grotto bar.

Leavenworth offers some of the best restaurants and shopping with a Bavarian flair. Some of our favorite spots include Larch, Rhein Haus, The Wok, South, Yodalin, Local Yocal, and you can't go wrong with any of the local bakery's!

During winter months, for those who like a bit of adventure, Steven’s Ski resort or Mission Ridge is about 40 minutes away. Nearby cross country skiing at Sleeping Lady Resort, ski hill or you can drive to Plain. There are many nearby spots to go snow shoe.
For some family fun, check our the Reindeer farm or take a sleigh ride.

There is something for everyone in Leavenworth... this vacation is sure to be one for the books!

What makes this property unique

There are many things that make the Cabin a lovely place to stay. Things that stand out the most is the mountain view, the sound of the river in the spring (just after snow melt), and my favorite is the daily visits from deer. (They often just lay our in the sun on our driveway). In the spring and summer you will see the marmots hiding in the rocks along the driveway or sunning on the rocks at the upper driveway. Occasionally, we have a visit from bear and other wildlife. It truly is like living on the edge of wilderness.
As far as the Guest Cabin itself.... well, Mike truly put his heart into building it. He was particular about building it right and it shows in the craftsmanship. Inside it has a modern minimalist feel. Neat, tidy and well appointed. A place to unwind and relax.
In a word, the cabin is truly "peaceful".
We are so grateful to live in this lovely little village. The people in Leavenworth are welcoming and the community is so supportive. Our hope is that our Guest enjoy the Cabin as much as we do.
