8/10 Good

Very hard to leave..
We would wake up every morning and have breakfast on the verandah with big smiles on our faces with comments "how good is this!" The big winter swells would be breaking right in front of us, and the house would often have a bit of a shake. While it was too dangerous to swim out the front, we ventured to the lagoons at Turtle Bay and Shark Cove and also Haliewa to swim. It was fantastic to sit on the verandah for wine and beer time, watching the sunset and whales. Honestly, we just about cried when we had to leave!
The house was lovely and clean and had everything you would need for a stay. The fridge was huge! The owner and previous guests have provided beach chairs, goggles and snorkels and boogie boards to use. Bicycles would have been perfect.
Foodland was only a short distance away for groceries and had a good variety of everything. We loved going into Haliewa for coffee (at the Coffee Gallery, great coffee and food), a wander around and great meals at Cholos Mexican.
There is a security gate at the end of the driveway, so you do feel safe. The house is on Ke Iki Road, which runs parallel to the main road, but you don't really hear too much traffic noise.
Next time we wouldn't even bother staying in Waikiki, just come straight up here.
We love the fact that the North Shore is not developed and it is just really laid back. Keep the country, country!
