Why they chose this property
This home is in the heart of Savannah's Victorian District, a diverse neighborhood, centrally located between the well-known National Landmark Historic District, and the up-and-coming, fashionable Starland District.
The Victorian District's short city blocks, and vibrant mix of people, architecture, restaurants, and parks make it one of Savannah's most walkable neighborhoods. Known for its architectural beauty and charm, this downtown neighborhood was developed in the second half of the 19th century as a streetcar suburb of the original city and is studded with two- and three-story houses as ornate as wedding cakes.
You’re just minutes away from all the activities this walkable city has to offer. Stroll through Savannah’s famous Forsyth Park and Chippewa Square (where Forrest Gump was filmed) on your way to River Street (less than two miles away) to enjoy restaurants, pubs, and even a haunted trolley tour. Visit one of the many museums or stroll through any of the 22 downtown squares to learn about the city's heritage.
Tybee Island is the nearest beach destination and is only 18 miles away.

What makes this property unique
Built in 1903, this lovely, 120-year-old, 2-story duplex home features a large, wrap-around front porch with doric columns, and a private, fenced in back yard.
This home is architecturally and historically significant as a good, simple example of the Carpenter Italianate, an architectural style popularized post 1900, that loses the brackets and much of the gingerbread ornamentation of the previous “wedding cake” style of the earlier Victorian-era homes.
