This property has it all on 4 acres, view of Lake Erie, peaceful stream and waterfall, vineyard, and quiet pond. Bald eagles soar daily along the shoreline and often perch in the trees on the property looking for their next meal. The lake house was completely remodeled in the Fall of 2022. Spacious kitchen, dining room, living room, 2 baths and 4 bedrooms. The location is the perfect weekend getaway for wine tours, fishing, or a longer vacation with many nearby attractions, beaches and wineries.

The lake house was a wonderful place for our family to vacation. We enjoyed all the surrounding towns and beaches( lots of sea glass finds) is this area. We loved sitting outside and listening to the bull frogs while having a breath taking view of the lake. The house was very clean and spacious.

Beautiful old house, in need of some finishing touches. For example, missing trim work and doors that don't lock. House had been cleaned, but it appeared to have been a while ago since there were many spiders and spider webs, both inside and out. Well stocked kitchen. Pans need replacing, unusable. Would have been nice to know ahead of time that it was Sulphur water, especially with having an infant and a toddler with us to wash and feed. Wonderful breeze most of the time, too bad there weren't more screened windows and doors to be able to enjoy that. Throughly enjoyed all of the close by wineries!! Host was helpful with any questions asked.

Drifting weekend

A charming place to stay. We were at a drift event at Lake Erie Speedway (15min drive) so it was very convenient & quiet after a noisy day at the track. My granddaughter enjoyed seeing all the wildlife including a bald eagle.

Great Stay

We really enjoyed our stay @ the Lakehouse. Very comfortable stay for 4 couples. We visited during the winter for one of the Lake Erie Wine Events the location was perfect! Everything in the house was wonderful, comfy beds, nice stocked coffee bar. Nice big table for eating & game playing. Bathrooms were nice/clean and had toiletry amenities! Will definitely visit again’

4th of July stay

trip to erie

Property is lovely, refurbished farm house. You advertised as bein g close to Erie, but we had to travel 45 miinutes back and forth to Waldemeer each day, and then into NorthEast for food. Loved the vineyards and the lake view. No extra charge for the large woodchuck that lives under your front porch.

We (5 older adults) enjoyed our stay in Ripley, very much. We loved the property and how close it was to all that we wanted to do. Every winery that we visited on this trip (12 of them) we friendly, clean, and had a nice selection of goodies to sample and/or purchase. We’re coming back!!!

Unfortunately, our experience did not match the expectations set by the listing photos and description. The house was not as clean as we anticipated upon arrival, which was disappointing.Additionally, the layout of the home was misleading and not ideal for a group stay. The primary bedroom is directly connected to what is presented as the kids’ room, offering very little privacy. The bathroom setup was also challenging, as the bathroom associated with the primary suite is shared with the entire second floor.Another surprise was the entrance to the home. Upon arrival, you walk into an enclosed porch area with exposed plywood, which was not accurately represented in the listing photos and created an unfavorable first impression.While the home may work for some travelers, larger groups or those expecting more privacy should carefully review the layout before booking. Given the cleanliness concerns and the discrepancy between the listing photos and the actual layout, we would not choose to stay here again.

The house is 99% of the time loved by large groups because it offers so much space and rooms with amazing views of Lake Erie and eagles soaring overhead. Yes, the breezeway connecting the garage and house is not finished. Strange that anyone would care about that given it is just a breezeway. We always try to exceed expectations and this is a tremedous location. There is a small bedroom with the trundle beds that is only accessed through a bedroom or the bathroom. Not a problem for most families who understand a remodeled old farmhouse would have unique floor plan such as that. Please ask if you have any concerns or special needs. All bedrooms are on second floor. So if that doesn't work for you, please do not book.

This is the second property my wife, son and I purchased. We purchased this property in 2021 and completely gutted and remodelled the entire house. We love to provide incredible properties and try to exceed guest expectations. The properties are very private so we give our guests privacy, but can be reached if a need arises. We enjoy helping our guests celebrate their special occasions or special times with family and friends.

Why they chose this property

This property has a quiet stream to the east, small vineyard to the west and Lake Erie to the North. How amazing is that? 4 acres with no neighbors! It is an old farmhouse originally built in 1905, but completely remodeled in 2022. Bald eagles love to soar by this property regularly.
