About this property
Lakefront 19th Century Vermont Barn Home - Dogs OK - Cycling - ICE fishing Lake
Step back in time and enjoy a stay in a Vermont barn that was originally built in 1800’s. This barn house was fully converted with all modern amenities, keeping with its classic traditional rustic appeal. The home offers plenty of space with four bedrooms and two baths. It is a two story home with two bedrooms and full baths on each level. This lakefront home sits on almost four country acres. Enjoy the large deck, yard, water sports, Cycling, or Golf at nearby Alburg Country Club.
This property is a converted 19th century Vermont barn. It has been tastefully updated throughout and offers four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The house sits on nearly five country acres and there are lake views from the deck, two bedrooms and downstairs kitchen/dinning room.
The house is fully furnished and the kitchen is fully equipped with coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, stove, small bar, pots/pans, drinking glasses, cooking utensils, plates, cups, bowls, and silverware.
The bathrooms include towels, wash clothes, shampoo, soap, and toilet paper.
The bedrooms include complete bedding and extra blankets.
There is one smart television in the living room. Amazon Prime is available as well as digital TV antenna allowing for reception to local television channels. WiFi is also available.
House also includes two kayaks for guest use, we do offer two life jackets however to ensure proper fit we advise guests to bring their own jackets.
We also offer a number of board games, puzzles, and a small collection of books.
The house sits on the north eastern tip of Isle la Motte, Vermont. Isle la Motte is Vermont’s most remote island on Lake Champlain, with a year round population of 488 at the 2020 census. The island has one road on and off and is seven miles long by two miles wide, making it ideal to explore on bicycle. The island is rich in history, with French settlements dating back to the 1600’s. The property is a few short miles from Saint Anne’s Shrine , which dates back to 1666. The island is also home to a 480 million year old fossilized coral reef, which is a point of interest that can be explored at Fisk Quarry Preserve during your stay.
Guests have access to the entire house except for the garage and one locked owners room.
Our space is located in rural Vermont. Please be advised that though we treat the exterior to keep pests at bay, including insects, mice, and harmless garden snakes, this is a reality of Vermont nature. Our space may not be a fit for those who are extremely phobic of these and other wildlife.

About the host
Hosted by Chris Cummings
Allow me to introduce myself to you – my name is Chris and I live with my wife and two daughters in South Burlington, Vermont about an hour south of here. I'm a native Vermonter, grew up in the southern Vermont town of Brattleboro. I went to the University of Vermont, where I met my wife and stayed in the Burlington area ever since.
Some of my hobbies include playing classical guitar, hiking, swimming, golfing and of course making sure our guests have the best time possible! We also love traveling as a family; we strongly believe that travel opens the mind and builds lasting bonds that last forever. As a family we have traveled extensively in the US, India, and Europe.
We always find our way back to our Vermont home as Vermont is a truly amazing place to live and visit! From skiing in the winter, to hot summers on the lake, to maple sugaring in the fall, every season in Vermont has something special to offer.
Why they chose this property
Our property sits on almost 4 acres of field on the lake. We love seeing the wild life of Vermont - from white tail deer to bald eagles! The fishing in the lake is good too!
What makes this property unique
Tastefully restored 19th century barn. The place has a great history and feel! definitely unique and comfortable.
