Everything was wonderful, heated floors in bathrooms was such a bonus when exiting the hot tub or shower! Water does have a sulfur (rotten egg) smell. So you may want to bring water bottles but other that that everything was wonderful. Fully stocked, and probably the best stocked property I've ever stayed at.
We had a great time at the cabin. The view of the mountains were amazing and the sunrises wonderful. The cabin was one of the most well stocked we have been in and the fire pit was the highlight of the night. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

So glad you had a great staycation! We look forward to welcoming you back in the future!
Rented house for a wedding we attended in Blairsville, Ga. This house was everything we wanted, great home and location, beautiful views, wildlife and great hosts! We will be back hopefully when we can stay longer!
We took our four grandchildren to Murphy to attend the Little/Middle Folk School for the week. We all had a great time and really enjoyed the property. It was a great place to spread out and have our own space. Loved the outdoor patio, hot tub and fire pit as well. Would definitely stay here again!
We absolutely loved our time in this beautiful cabin in a beautiful neighborhood. We only wish we had more time to enjoy all the cabin had to offer. It was clean, well stocked kitchen, hot tub, family room complete with games, comfy beds, and fire pit. We would definitely stay again if ever in the area. The host was quick to respond and help answer any questions we had. 10 out of 10 experience!
Great time…..just what we needed for our weekend trip. The water smelt horrible & tasted bad. I think it was the sulfa in the water. Everything else was awesome!
Our stay at this beautiful cabin in Murphy, NC was a wonderful experience for our family and friends this summer. The location and neighborhood had amazing views and loop to walk around on top of the mountain. We saw deer almost every day. The communication with the owners was very prompt and helpful whenever we had questions. We made unforgettable memories here that we will always cherish with our friends and children. Thank you for opening up this beautiful property for us to stay at.

Thank you for your kind words! I’m glad you had a great visit and will join us again in the future!
This house was the perfect stay for my entire family. My son and his family stayed on the lower level and the kids had plenty of room to roam. My daughter and her husband stayed on the main level and my husband and I had the loft with a fantastic view of the sunrise. Everyone had their own bathroom. The home was well cared for and clean. We had everything at our disposal. We did not use the hot tub because we spent most of our hours with my brother and his family for the Thanksgiving holiday. They live practically around the corner and this home was the perfect location for us. We would definitely stay here again with no hesitation.
The cabin is beautiful and wonderfully decorated. The beds/mattressesn were great. This makes a world of difference when traveling.
Only negativity the cabin was hot, thermostat was set at 79 yes 79 during a heat wave. The nest and main floor thermostat was set at 79. The thermostat in the loft and lower level was turned off. We were not sure if the nest was to cool the whole house or if the thermostats had to be on.
We were able to get the house cooled off before going to bed. There is a box fan in the loft closet. That was a necessity for sleeping in the loft.
The cabin was very enjoyable and we had a great visit.
This cabin is so precious!!! The views were spectacular from the back porch all the way up to the loft bedroom!!! The interior is themed with bears and cozy mountain themes. We loved the layout as you have plenty of open space as well as private spaces to getaway from the group. Loved the hot water feature in the kitchen- perfect for that quick cup of tea!!!
The bed located in the loft was super comply and the bathrooms around the house are spacious enough for any size group. Lots of blankets and pillows in each room.
We come up to this area annually and stay around the local town and we just loved this cabin. We really enjoyed the fireplace in the main living area the most. What a perfect setting for relaxing after a day at the local folk school and watching the sunrise in the mornings. Just beautiful!!!
The owners were able to answer questions quickly and provided lots of information in the guest book.
Can’t wait to come back next year!!!!
I really wanted to give this Property 5-Stars because it was wonderful with a couple of exceptions. The Good: Property is spacious, secluded, quiet, and well laid out. Communication with host was excellent. The home had mostly everything you would expect including a Hot Tub and Fire-Pit. The home was clean and comfortable - I only used the upstairs bedroom and bed was very comfortable. The Bad: Surveillance - when I entered the home, an Alarm started beeping. I didn't have the code in-hand so the Alarm sounded until I got it disarmed. There was a Camera at the front-door and this didn't bother me but the Alarm inside the home sensed your presence (infrared sensor) and there was a separate Infrared sensor downstairs in the family room. When I went outside to check on the Hot Tub, I noticed the water was extremely Low but no hose available so I made 20 trips to the Laundry room sink to fill a gallon pitcher and bring the level up somewhat. The Hot Tub also looked like it may have needed some TLC and I passed this along to the Host. I noticed a Camera that focused down on the Hot Tub and that took me by surprise - I ended up putting plastic bags over it because I felt an intrution of privacy. I used the Hot Tub nightly and rinsed off right afterward. The Ugly: I don't quite understand how this wasn't disclosed but there was an extremely high content of iron in the water which smelt bad, stained towels, sink, and toilets. I used bottle-water to brush teeth.

I regret that you found issue with our surveillance system. We have had multiple break in attempts so it is unfortunately a necessity. All guests are provided with the disarm codes; once disarmed the only camera that remains active is the front porch and driveway. The downstairs camera is focused on the door and the hot tub is near the door. Again, as was communicated to the guest, that camera is disarmed when the system is disarmed. Per VRBO and AirBnB policy THERE ARE NO CAMERAS INSIDE THE HOME. There are smoke alarms throughout that will show lights with motion when lights/power is off. This is a safety feature. There are sound alarms in the basement and main floor that monitor for breaking glass but again, only when the system is armed. There are no infrared sensors in the house.
When Matthew notified us the hot tub needed water, we in turn notified our maintenance person who came by the same day, however as guest stated he had already adjusted the water level. As for the iron content, it is what it is; we have a whole house 2- stage water filter. All guests are told that we’re are on a well; when there is a drought like WNC is in, iron content can increase. We compensate as best we can.
I am glad you enjoyed our home; you are welcome to come again anytime.
The hot tub was great .( not very private because you can see it from the road)

About the host
Hosted by Jeff & Kimberly Barnes
We are originally from NW Georgia and have spent most of our lives vacationing in the NC mountains. For us, it’s home and where we feel the most relaxed. We love the mountains and sharing them with our friends and family.
Why they chose this property
The area is very quiet and peaceful, yet close to Murphy, Blairsville and Blue Ridge. There is wonderful hiking, rafting or kayaking, world class trout fishing and fine dining all just a short drive from the cabin. We can be in Chattanooga, Atlanta, Knoxville or Asheville in two hours. So it’s really close to everything but still far enough away from the real world!
What makes this property unique
Our cabin is our home and is set up for our family and friends, not just the bare minimum for a rental. The furniture and artwork are all very personal and chosen with the upmost care. I love bears, quilts and baskets, my husband loves fly fishing, painting & photography and we both love to read - you’ll see all of these hobbies sprinkled throughout the cabin for your enjoyment.
