About this property

Getaway on the Cove - New to VRBO 2023

Beautiful Chalet like home on a cove of your own. Very remote feel yet close to everything. Great for multiple families to get together and yet still have space of their own.

We are new to VRBO but have rented the property with Airbnb for the past few years and have a 5.0 rating.

Seclusion and privacy, with a feeling of remoteness, yet close access to all necessities and to Acadia National Park.

A long winding gravel road leads to the house, deep in the Singing Woods, right on the shore of Kilkenny cove. The nearest neighbors are 1/4 mile away, and other than the caretaker (he lives in a seperate, private apartment) and clammers on the tidal flats of the cove, you won't see anyone.

Yet there is a convienice store just a few minutes away and the town of Ellsworth, with all he necessary stores, is only 10 minutes away.

Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Mount Desert Island are only 30 minutes away.

My name is Julie. We - my husband, Eric, and 3 kids - absolutely LOVE Maine, the ocean, hiking, kayaking, trees, views and Acadia National Park. We are so happy to share our breathtaking Getaway on the Cove with you.

Why they chose this property

This is our Happy Place we lived here and loved it and plan on coming back and retiring here. It is peaceful, spacicious, secluded and absolutely a must stay location. It is in between the 2 main parts of Acadia National Park. Do miss either location.

What makes this property unique

Kayaking with seals without leaving the house. Hiking from the property. Sunset over the ocean from the deck. Close to Acadia, hiking and biking trails. Plenty of room for family and friends. Practically no one around. The stars are breathtaking, billions to see with practiacally zero light pollution.
