About this property
Dairy Cottage in The Cedars
Nestled in the back of an 1840 log home, the Dairy cottage in The Cedars is a repurposed gem. This early 1900s Milking Barn is a unique piece of history. Surrounded by peaceful landscape, let the sounds of nature lull you into tranquility. Transformed into a two-bedroom picturesque cottage and beautifully decorated, you will be afforded all the amenities of home as you experience this one of a kind lodging. Let its uniqueness and beauty complete your trip to the surrounding Nashville area.
Welcome to our historic sanctuary! We hope that our repurposed barn exceeds your expectations and makes your stay in Tennessee memorable!
As you walk through the walls of the cottage, you will find custom wood features throughout such as a gorgeous cedar slab bar, windows and door frames reframed in cedar and pine, custom cedar cabinets and the original exposed cathedral ceilings. Modern barn doors adorn the doorways to each room. But at the turn of the 20th century, a massive barn door once stood on the Eastern side of the structure and a long trough was located on the Northeast wall extending well into the now kitchen. Cows were farmed providing milk and cheese.
Peaceful surroundings, and elegant soaking tub, fresh espresso and farm fresh eggs are just some of the luxuries you will be able to enjoy. Come experience a sweet retreat with the serenity of country life and natural landscape coupled with modern amenities and touches of opulence. Experience the soothing effect of rain falling on the metal roof while you soak in the Victoria and Albert tub in our luxury bathroom. Enjoy the calming sounds of surrounding wildlife such as birds, fowl, horses, and goats. Go for a stroll along secret pathways on the surrounding 11 acres and be amazed by the natural landscape studded with indigenous cedar trees and so much more.
Guests will have a private parking area, a private two bedroom cottage with its own private entrance. Our guests are welcome to stroll around the property exploring the 11 acres. Feel free to visit any of the animals here, they are part of the character that makes this property so special. We hope that you feel just as at home here as we do. Both hosts are New Orleans natives and we offer Cajun Creole meals upon request. Feel free to ask us for more details. Seafood boils can be scheduled in advance as well, seasons permitting.

Beautiful place with lovely touches and plenty of nature
We had a very nice time staying at the converted dairy barn on the huge property. Nicest shower and bath we've seen. The host family and animals on the property were very friendly. The s'mores supplies, coffee and shower/bath supplies were extra bonuses. Wish we had more time there!

Elizabeth and her family were a pleasure to host! We are excited. They enjoyed our cottage and surrounding nature retreat. We would be happy to host them again in the future.
We stayed here for our 1yr anniversary, went to the nascar race and in town to Nashville we had a blast the location is perfect for race fans. Perfect distance from all the hustle and bustle of the Nashville “drunk” crowed. Cutest country bungalow!
Had a wonderful stay. Very comfortable beds and bedding and a great bathroom. Owners very accommodating. One suggestion is to add a loveseat or more seating in the main living area so 4 people can sit comfortably. Kitchen well stocked but could use a dish rack for washing dishes and a toaster. Overall great experience.
So close to civilization, but a remote feel. animals about, geese, chickens, goats. Easy to find. Well stocked with snacks and kitchen equipment. Bathroom was Amazing! The Shower and Soaking Tub were a nice touch. Comfy beds. Games, cards, and a telescope provided. Grill and a separate site for a campfire. Would book again!
