About this property

Historic & Eclectic~ An experience in the woods~~

Moonstone Manor is a 1930’s historic cottage-style home. It was completely renovated in 2018 by an interior designer to reflect the charm and spirit of an old style “city family” summer retreat. Located in one of the choicest acres of woodland property at the base of Laurel Mountain, and just four miles from Ligonier PA, it is furnished in a subtle, bohemian, rustic style where color richness, well-worn pieces and indulging in comfort is paramount.
There are many unique features of the Manor, for instance, much of the original interior trim, floors and windows reflect the fine detailed craftsmanship of the 1930’s …..very campy. The towering 2 story, stone fireplace is reminiscent of a storybook….Hansel & Gretel come to mind. The 1950’s kitchen cabinets are topped with sleek zinc countertops and butcher block ……features where retro meets metro. The downstairs bathroom with walk-in shower and adjacent laundry area have the most contemporary flourishes but it is done tastefully and warmly, maximizing the limitations of the smaller space. And the woodsy quiet will lull you to sleep in one of the two upstairs bedrooms which have comfy queen beds and a small powder room so it’s perfect for two couples wanting to share a weekend getaway.

Holiday with friends and family
We had a lovely stay at this quaint property, The home was everything we needed, and so cozy with the gas fireplace, and ample accommodations and furnishings. We would definitely consider this place again for another trip to visit friends and family in the area.

Exactly what we wanted!
The house was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The internet worked well. The beds and linens were great. Melinda was so nice and she responds quickly when we would text her. If you are looking for a cozy cabin in the woods, then this is a great place

Why they chose this property

I'll let a recent review from Airbnb explain "why choose" my property...............Amazing piece of beautifully restored history tucked away in a peaceful wooded area. We even saw some deer near by out the kitchen window. Very comfortable stay with a well stocked kitchen and cozy fireplace. Thoughtful details throughout, from quality linens, towels and cozy blankets. Everything was very clean and it is evident Melinda takes care when getting the home ready for guests. Close to three ski resorts in the area and not too far from some restaurants and shops. We had a great stay and would stay again."

What makes this property unique

Easier to let my reviews speak to the benefits........".Our family of four stayed at Melinda’s immaculate home during the holidays. From booking, to check-in, to stay, to check-out, we could not have asked for better communication and kind interaction with the host. Her home was pristinely clean and it was evident that she cares about the comfort of her guests. The linen was upscale and carefully cared for, the house was spotless upon entry, the kitchen was well-stocked. Eccentrically wonderful and beautifully quirky decor dressed the home to provide a true sense of welcoming. She provided board games and books to help entertain. The property itself is set in a little sliver of the woods; moss scattered around in addition to the small stream on property makes for an old timey feel of a cottage in yesteryear. We will definitely try to book again. Thank you, Melinda. You are a rare and kind host!"
