The space
The Historic Brickhouse Vacation Home and the Brickhouse Coffee & Kitchen are housed in a building that dates back to 1848, built by early settlers, and is one of the original homes in Refton. During the 1860s, the Pennsylvania Railroad Company laid tracks through the villages and farms, with the railroad line passing just across the road. For the next century, the building served as a residence on one side and a general store and post office on the other, becoming a frequent stop for travelers, railroad workers, and locals alike.

In 2018, the Fisher family purchased the home, and they proceeded to update the residence and renovate the store, opening the Brickhouse Coffee & Kitchen later that same year. The cafe has been a hit with locals ever since, boasting a fantastic menu for breakfast and lunch, as well as a cold case with baked goods and drinks. Each guest of the vacation home receives a complimentary voucher for any beverage.

As an Amish-owned home, there is no TV available, allowing families to disconnect from distractions and spend quality time together. However, WiFi is available for guests to use, as the family understands the need for connectivity.

Guest parking is shared with café patrons, with one designated spot reserved for vacation home guests, and extra parking available in the overflow lot. The vacation home itself features five large bedrooms, a sizable dining area, and a living room, offering ample space for relaxation. Guests can also enjoy provided board games, outdoor games, and a firepit. Moreover, there is a sunroom available for al fresco dining, and guests are welcome to use the outdoor eating area located behind the cafe.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home with the exception a couple of designated storage rooms.

Other things to note
There is no television at our location as we want to provide an environment free of distractions and give you an opportunity to rejuvenate and connect with family and friends. Wi-Fi ,however, is available.

An extra day bed is the laundry room. Please be aware this room does not have doors in case privacy is an issue.

There is also a twin rollaway cot available.

Delightful place to be
We had a wonderful, very short trip to your home. The highlight perhaps was having the coffee shop right next door. It was a great way to begin our morning. The specialty coffees, Breakfast sandwiches and smoothies started our day well. Don't forget to try the energy balls In the bakery. They were the best we have ever had. Thank u for creating a nice home me for us to stay.

Lancaster get away
The property was in a great quiet location for our visit. The house was spotless, clean, and comfortable. The only negative was the stairs and the noise in the morning from the coffee shop opening up in just one of the bedrooms. No sleeping in if you’re a light sleeper, but no problem Sunday morning. We did enjoy breakfast from the coffee shop though! We would gladly stay there again!
