One of the best VRBO’s we’ve stayed in. Host was very responsive.Home is beautifully appointed. Beds very comfortable - plenty of room for this family of 6 to spread out. Exceptionally clean! Will be back.
Beautful well appointed house in a quiet residential area. Lots of really good places in nearby town center, including restaurants, coffee, ice cream, and more. Easy to and from Hartford too, very convenient. Great place, very comfortable!
Lovely home in a central Conecticut location. Enjoyed morning coffee on the front porch. Also enjoyed a family dinner at the Charles right in Wethersfield.
Jennifer was a total pleasure to deal with – she was lovely, responsive, and accommodating. The house was clean, charming, and well located within walking distance of the quaint small town with shops/restaurants. It was a perfect home base for our weekend stay.
Spotlessly clean, tastefully appointed historic home in Connecticut’s Old Wethersfield village. Perfect basecamp for enjoying holiday weekend birthday celebration & family reunion activities throughout the Wethersfield & greater Hartford area.
A group of 8 friends from all over the Northeast got together for our annual Friendsgiving weekend, and the O.W.L. House was the perfect setting! From the moment we made the reservation, the owner Jennifer was friendly, responsive and accommodating. Our check-in was seamless and the house was clean and inviting upon arrival. They even left us a welcome basket filled with goodies!
The bedrooms were well-appointed

Thank you so much Tiffanie! So glad you had a wonderful Friendsgiving. You are welcome back at anytime!
We stayed at the house for our daughters graduation. The house was great for 8 of us. Lots of space, very clean, large yard and plenty of parking. We enjoyed everything about it! The host was always responsive and easy to contact. If in the area we would stay here again!
Our family of five found the house to be incredible spacious, stylish and it had all the comforts of home. The beds, pillows and comforters were to quality and extremely comfortable. They had coffee, sugar, paper towels and all the things we needed for our weekend stay. The house is just 2 blocks from the adorable town center with great food and ice cream.
We were visiting family nearby, but will come back for a longer stay just to enjoy the house!
too much clutter on the counters and furniture. Lots of rules to follow. Since the traveler pays for the cleaning service in their fee…why do I have to do so much cleaning including stripping beds and putting out garbage. Apparently is you don’t do this, this owner can charge hyou

Thank you for your stay and for taking the time to share your feedback, Catherine. I'm sorry to hear that aspects of your visit didn’t meet expectations.
Regarding your comment about clutter: the decor and layout of The Owl House are reflected accurately in our listing photos, and we strive to create a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that feels like a well-loved home. That said, I understand design preferences vary, and I appreciate your input.
As for the checkout process, we aim to keep it simple with just a few requests—mainly to start the dishwasher, check for belongings, and take out the trash. We include these steps to help keep the home in good condition between guests, not to shift cleaning responsibilities. To clarify, we have never charged a guest for not completing checkout tasks, nor is that an Airbnb policy. Our goal is to make departure easy and stress-free, and we truly value respectful guests above all.
We’re always learning as hosts and appreciate any feedback that helps us improve the experience for future guests.
Warmly,
Jennifer
My 90th birthday weekend with my family from many places.
The house accommodated 8 adults very comfortably
I have a few minor suggestions.
Printed instructions on operating the TV would be very helpful.
Having bathroom cups in the upstairs bathrooms would be good also.
We all loved the house and the neighborhood
Thanks

So glad you had a wonderful time celebrating such a milestone! Appreciate the suggestions!
Having grown up in the Central Connecticut area, we were happy to find this property for our family visit. Old Wethersfield is a wonderful place to stay - convenient to all major and minor attractions, easy access to 91/84.
The property is well equipped for family stay, has ample resources for cooking/food preparation, and is a great home-away-from-home feel.
For those not familiar with Hartford, it’s only a few minutes to West Hartford Malls & Shops, Old Wethersfield has more eating places than you could utilize in a week, and plenty of Norman Rockwell like charm. For the adventurous types, it’s only a few minutes to Hartford (things like the Children’s Museum, UCONN, Library, Wardsworth Atheneum Museum, Mark Twain House, Harriett Beecher Stowe House, Bushnell Theatre, Hartford Stage, etc.). We managed to revisit many of these with ease during our week. For the more adventurous types, an hour is all it takes to get to many of the shoreline beaches, Mystic Aquarium, or even Sturbridge Village in Mass.
As for the house, there was ample off-street parking, a nice backyard with chairs and fire pit, plenty of space for luggage in the entryway, along with ample couches, open space, dining areas, etc.
Overall a great place to stay, and one of our new favorite places when we visit. Highly recommend.
My family and I stayed at the warm and cozy Owl House in April 2025. The owner was friendly, highly responsive and accommodating and the home was inviting to our family including grandparents and two young children ages 3 and 6. There were children’s games and snacks upon arrival and we appreciated having laundry, a full kitchen and the comforts of home. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
