We had a wonderful time at “Dew Drop Ian”. It was exceptional and the hostess was amazing and very responsive. Loved the quietness, and comfortable home. Especially loved having an Eagle perch each morning and evening behind the house. I highly recommend this property on a wonderful Island.
My husband and I just wanted a quiet, off the beaten path place to stay near the Gulf. If you are “beach people”, this isn’t the place. For us, it was perfect. We explored every part of the island and found good restaurants, history, and really welcoming people. We would definitely stay here again.
This place had so many of the things these two 60 grandparents like. - Seclusion (not on a buy street or too many people nearby). - A deck to just sit or eat on. - Ease of feeling at home- A neighborhood to walk- Not too touristy
Susie is one of the best hosts I’ve encountered. She is helpful, and quick to respond. This place is at the end of a cul-de-sac it is quiet and there is a nesting pair of eagles in the back. The outdoor area is so comfy and ready for you to enjoy. It is well stocked and is the cleanest VRBO we have stayed in. A nice stay for sure
The house is older but a lot of excellent renovation done well. Everything clean and in good working order. Located in a private, quiet part of the Island with nice neighbors.Pine Island is a rare uncrowded part of Florida that's mostly a fishing/boating mecca. Lots of fresh seafood to buy, a few good restaurants, and a Publix. Very relaxing. We visited friends in Bonita Springs where traffic was gridlock.
There were two problems: 1) No soup spoon. Borrowed two from my sister who lives nearby. 2) Shower had no hot water. Lukewarm at best. More serious than spoons. Otherwise we would have given it an A+ rating.

About the host
Hosted by Susie Watkins
I am a native New Yorker but LOVE the tropics. I formally owned a home in Jamaica on the south coast. As much as I loved my stilt home there, it was extremely hard to maintain. I began a search for a stilt home in Florida and low and behold, I knew this home was meant to be!
Why they chose this property
I choose this neighborhood because it is super quiet and it has fabulous neighbors. It also is right around the corner from The Historic Tarpon Lodge!
What makes this property unique
My property is unique because I work in Interior Design. I love collecting wonderful art and creating beautiful settings. I also love tropical gardens. I will continue to work on this property to improve it over time!
