About this property

El Palacio Rosa on Blue Lagoon 2Br Beachfront

Imagine relaxing after your day of fantastic snorkeling and sightseeing our beautiful tropical paradise to incredible views & epic sunsets over a quiet pristine bay surrounded by the Honduran jungle: Where can you make this happen???

At El Palacio Rosa on Blue Lagoon.

El Palacio Rosa on Blue Lagoon is our 1.5 acre three-story vacation rental with 240' of Caribbean oceanfront property on the eastern side of Caribe Bight (bay) on the island of Roatan. Each floor is it's own private suite with its own balcony/patio. The upstairs is a one-bedroom one bath suite with its own wrap-around balcony, the middle-floor is a three-bedroom two-bath suite with its own wrap-around balcony and sundeck, and the bottom floor is a two-bedroom one bath suite with walkout patio just steps away from the pool, dock and beach.

El Palacio Rosa on Blue Lagoon's 240' of Caribbean oceanfront in protected Caribe Bight (bay) includes its own small private sandy beach, beautiful dock/palapa, and a protected mangrove forest. Water access is right through the backyard past the infinite-edge swimming pool and over a small footbridge and then a flight of stairs to the dock (ladder) and beach (walk-in).

El Palacio Rosa is literally right next door to the mangrove tunnels and what locals call "Blue Lagoon" - a large and stunningly crystal clear lagoon book-ended by the mangrove tunnels loaded. Barracuda, Permit, and schools of Tuna and Tarpon can be seen cruising the channel into and out of the lagoon's crystal clear waters. Kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, snorkeling, and/or scuba diving - with 3 stunning reefs and a shipwreck you can swim to right from the dock.

El Palacio Rosa on Blue Lagoon is surrounded by dense jungle forest and a sparsely populated bay. Backed up against the forest you can hear the activity in the jungle. The property has SPECTACULAR sunsets from every floor and almost every angle. Watch eagle rays leap out of the water, turtles swim in the bay and dolphins proposing at the point - as the jungle sings amazing and beautiful sounds, and the prescapular sunset rays reach across the bay as night approaches and the milky-way comes out.

Come and stay with us and see why we say, "Water. Jungle. Sunsets."

The 3BR suite is a fully furnished 1,800 SF 3-bedroom 2-bath suite supporting up-to 9 guests and occupies the entire second floor of El Palacio Rosa on Blue Lagoon as its own private stand-alone suite.

Enter the suite through the front large french double-doors into a Caribbean-themed family/dining/kitchen area with new comfortable couch and loveseat and soft-bamboo themed floors. A medium-sized internet-connected flat-screen TV is available for your streaming account access, and an HDMI cable is provided to connect to your tablet/phone. Feel free to use the small "library" of guest "please-take-one-please-leave-one" books.

Adjacent to the family room is the large Caribbean themed kitchen featuring a gas stove and oven for cooking a feast, a mid-sized refrigerator/freezer combo large enough for a weeks groceries, and a dual-sink to clean-up after a large breakfast, lunch or dinner. Additional kitchen "power-tools" include an air-fryer, a microwave, a 4-slice toaster, an InstaPot (tm), and a high power blender/smoothie machine. Cookware includes almost-new pots and pans, dishes and silverware, coffee pot (with a local island blend), mixing bowls and tupperware to keep food fresh in the refrigerator. There are also basic spices available (and more available from the host or property manager if needed in-a-pinch). Set the dinner table for 6 (additional chairs and tables are available) and notice the beautiful bouquet of flowers picked from the garden's around the property. A small room behind the kitchen table can be used for storing your luggage and keeping it out of the way during your stay.

The Green Room is a nice-sized Master Bedroom with attached private master bath (complete with sink/vanity, toilet and large walk-in shower). It has a large dark-oak solid-wood King bed for two with matching dresser for your belongings, and a small table and chair looking through the west window and amazing bay views. It is lit with a large palm-leaf ceiling-fan/light and walls decorated in a freshly painted light "caribbean green" decorated with pineapple artwork, and has its own mini-split AC. The room also has an exterior door next to the south window opening to the sundeck attached to your suite's private wrap-around balcony. Incredible views (and sounds) of the jungle are right outside your bedroom 24 hours a day. Let it surround you and engulf you - and it will amaze you.

The Blue Room is a nice-sized large bedroom and has a large dark-oak queen bed for two with matching dresser for your belongings, and a small table with lamp and chair for reading or setting up your laptop/tablet for some private office work. It has a dark-oak sleigh-style queen bed for two, and a full bed for two can be converted into a bunk-bed (with twin mattress on top) to support an additional guest if requested (picture shows bunk bed). A glass table and lamp between the bed can be used for reading at night or as a charging stand, and two additional lounge chairs and a large six drawer dresser is provided to support additional guests. It's window opens to the north and provides views of the bay through the greens and sounds of the jungle next door. It is lit with a large palm-leaf ceiling-fan/light and walls decorated in a freshly painted light "caribbean yellow" decorated with matching artwork, and has its own mini-split AC.

All rooms are interconnected through the central hallway, including a common bath for the suite. The large soft-blue-toned common bath has a sink with vanity, toilet, and large walk-in shower. The common bath also provides an exterior door to the suite's wrap-around balcony.

The large sunset-facing balcony starts at the stairs from the driveway of the property on the south east side of the building and wraps around the suite providing almost 360 degree views of the jungle and out over our Caribbean bay and oceanfront. Relax in comfort in the conversational furniture-set with a glass of your favorite beverage(s) - with views clear to the mainland and amazing sunsets to the west as the sun travels winter/summer all year long.
The Balcony also has a large attached sun-deck that is surrounded by jungle behind it and views clear to the mainland over the bay with "sun worshipping chairs" and direct access to the sun all through the day - and unbelievable views of the milky way, moon, stars and planets at night.

The dock and water are just steps away - down a flight of stairs and through the yard, over a small footbridge to the La Rosa (the palapa on top of the dock) and another set of stairs.

The 2BR suite is a fully furnished 800 SF 2-bedroom 1-bath suite supporting up-to 5 guests and occupies the entire bottom floor of El Palacio Rosa on Blue Lagoon as its own private stand-alone suite.

Access to the suite is down the stairs and through the backyard of the property opening - out to the backyard just a few paces to the pool with garden views of the entire bay and the surrounding jungle. Guests will also find seashells throughout the suite as flair: these "abandoned" shells are found by the host during his daily swim in the bay. Chilling in Roatan
The area is very private and calm. Beautiful views with swimming and snorkeling available right there. Loved having the kayaks and paddle board. Everything you need right there! The owners are very responsive. Just a tip for future renters… go to the Supermarket Eldon’s in French Harbor. They even have an organic supermarket right next to it with a very good selection of products!!

Perfect!
Jeff and Karen are fantastic, and this was the best VRBO experience we've ever had (and we've had quite a few). They'll help you find or do whatever your ocean-loving heart desires - they have vast knowledge and a deep love of the island. The Palace, it's views, and it's property are peaceful and beautiful, and if you're lucky, you might get banana bread or lionfish ceviche. The property pups and cat were just as lovely. It's about an hour's drive to either end of the island, but we could just as easily have spent every day exploring the bay and neighboring areas. It was everything we had hoped for and more. Jeff and Karen truly want you to leave as friends, and we did.

About the host

Host profile image
The owners, Jeff and Karen, live in the US and occupy the top-floor 1- bedroom one bath suite when visiting the island. Jorque is the on-site property manager (he has his own home on the property in the jungle nextdoor) and is almost always available. Guests might share the outside of the property with the owners, the property manager, or guests from the other suite.

We recommend renting a car, all-wheel drive during the rainy season. Taxi service is available, but not reliable. We can also line-up shuttles and/or tour guides that meet your interests and/or needs.

Calle Principal is the main road east on the island, take it to HillTop Bar and Grill in Politilly.
The entrance to Jonesville Point Road is almost directly across Calle Principal from HillTop Bar and Grill (Signs at the corner include “Terrachula”, “Jonesville Point Marina”, and “La Rosa Bar and Grill”) - Turn South onto Jonesville Point Road road (unpaved).
Continue on Jonesville Point Road past Mariposa and Blue Lagoon Road (and a “La Rosa Bar and Grill” sign is under the street sign) is on your right.
Turn onto Blue Lagoon Road - “El Palacio Rosa” is at the end.

Both Google Maps and Waze work here (if you've got or arranged service).

Why they chose this property

We have incredible views from every part of the property: sundeck, balcony, patio, yard and La Rosa (large palapa on the dock) - all facing the most amazing sunsets over a quiet bay night after night.
The entire property has undergone renovations with new furnitures, fixtures, and AC. While considered "east end", Caribe Bight (our oceanfront bay) is centrally located to accessing and experiencing the ENTIRE Roatan.

The bay is spectacular with three reefs, a shipwreck and the mangrove tunnels & lagoon within swimming distance of the dock. The water in the bay is spectacularly clean and healthy - with few homes on the bay, no large fleets of large trawlers, and no "island plumbing" dumping waste into the bay.

We have three kayaks, a paddle board, several sets of new snorkel gear, extra swimmer buoys, and a few tubes for our guests to share if you want to float/paddle/snorkel in the bay. From out in the bay all you see are beautiful homes spaced across the bay - backed into the privacy and quietness of the Honduran Jungle.

And when you're done with your amazing day discovering the magic of our bay, it's reefs and its mangrove mysteries, there are freshwater showers and dunk tanks for you to rinse you and your gear off.

Inside our private "dive shop" we have 15 "lockers" to hang gear to dry and store. A few are used by the host and a few neighbors for storing their gear. If you're an experienced diver you might get invited to see the local owners favorite spots (two of them include world renowned "Calvin's Crack" and "Caribe Point Wall" - less than a 5 minute boat ride from our dock).

Jeff and Karen are take significant pride in what we've re-built the "The Pink Palace" into - and want our guests to experience its uniqueness, beauty both above and below the water, and central jungle location for themselves.

Make memories here.
