Perfect home away from home! Fully equipped kitchen, baths and bedrooms. Beds were very comfortable. Loved the peace and serenity of the quiet and private location. Very kind and responsive host. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again. Thank you!
Our host was very kind and easy to communicate with The house was very cute and lots of privacy. Our grandkids loved going to the pond just to hang out a bit The cats met me every morning to get feed
Great month-long stay! The hosts were excellent communicators and very gracious! The house is in a safe location and has all the comforts needed - this was the most well-appointed house weve ever rented (well-stocked kitchen, cleaning supplies, lots of extra linens, etc). The beds were exceptionally comfortable, the kitchen has updated appliances, and the two full bathrooms were clean and in great condition. The house is nestled in beautiful woods but is easily accessible to everything in Lancaster County. Cannot say enough good things about this stay, looking forward to renting it again when we can!!

We really enjoyed having you as guests. It was great meeting you. You are always welcomed back.
Wonderful. Just as advertised Travel to points of interest are 5-20 minutes but when you return to the house you’ll think you’re in an enchanted forrest
This place was exactly what we wanted, a well kept home away from noise and busy roads. The visiting cats made it seem like home! It was close to what we wanted to do, greenhouse’s and fun shops. We loaded my jeep with all sorts of treasures! We will definitely want to stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality!
Absolutely loved our stay. Very clean and comfortable. It felt like we were in a treehouse as we viewed the trees from the kitchen window sipping our morning coffee. We were greeted by a lovely cat each morning perched outside on the deck railing. As someone who is allergic to cats, this was no problem at all. They remained outdoors. I could enjoy from afar. I highly recommend staying at this property. It is also close to the best of Lancaster attractions

House was clean but has a musty odor. Some of the amenities definitely need updating. Kitchen was stocked with dishes & cookware but some of it was less than desirable. Primary bedroom was fine but the other two bedrooms were cramped.

Sorry to hear that your stay was not 100%. I am not sure what that musty smell might be, but we have since cleaned some of the duct work. And we have gone throught the kitchen to make sure that everything is is in good working condition. Thanks for your otherwise nice review. Hope to host you again.
The house had everything we needed. The location was perfect for our daily adventures. Everything was pretty much within 5 miles or so. There was no satellite or cable channels available on the television but if you have streaming accounts you are good to go. The host gave us a discount for the television service. He was very pleasant to deal with. I would stay there again and recommend it to others. Loved the fact that it was kind of secluded but not.
We were very pleased and will likely return.House needs some repairs. We met your father and mother.. He tried to help me with the tv. We never got tv to work. You need to provide instructions for tv use.4 cats spent lots of time on the deck. Not being a cat person, that was not good. Providing coffee, water, etc. was a nice touch. Kitchen was well equipped. Thanks for letting us use your home.

We are glad to hear that you might return. Sorry about the TV. The problem has since been fixed. And yes, the cat population in the area has grown. All but one are neighbours' cats. They probably come there because guests feed them. At any rate, you are welcomed back anytime.
I want the host to let the owner of this home know that yes, it was secluded and a beautiful home but you need to address the mold. The gutters are full of leaves and the home smells musty from mold growing. I'm not going to leave a bad review because maybe you're unaware of this and again it was very nice except for this. The beds were so comfortable. The home was clean. However, we woke up with a headache everyday from the mold.

About the host
Hosted by Richard L Whitehead
I am from Paradise, PA but currently live in Norway. My Mom and Dad are co-hosts and handle guest affairs. They live about 2 minutes away in the house where I grew up. I love hosting because I want to share this unique and secluded home with others.
Why they chose this property
The house belonged to my grandparents. I took it over after they passed away. This home has so many memories for me - helping to build it in 1990, spending Christmas day here with my grandparents, and sitting on the deck with my grandmother talking about horses and her garden. I hope your time here will make for great memories too.
What makes this property unique
The home is secluded and peaceful but also easy to access, and full of necessities and amenities. The forest that surrounds the property help to shield the home from road traffic. The Amish neighbors are also quiet.
