About this property
Charming Log Cabin for Peaceful Mountain Getaway!
Our cabin is conveniently located just off the Peak to Peak Highway, Route 119, midway between the fun, gambling town of Black Hawk and the town of Nederland, gateway to the Indian Peaks wilderness, in the quiet mountain neighborhood of Meadowlake Mountain Acres. Located on almost two acres, Aspen Meadows has a geological rock formation at the rear of the property, where, after an easy hike up the pathway, you are treated to an almost 360 degree view of the surrounding mountain peaks, including the Continental Divide.
Cabin Features Aspen Meadows' open floor plan is bright and cheery with large windows and easy communication between the living room, dining room and kitchen. A den/sunroom off the living room is another gathering place and can be closed off to serve as an additional bedroom with the comfy sofa that folds out to a queen-size bed for one or two extra guests. A wood burning fireplace in the living room and a wood stove in the dining room will keep your family warm and cozy, (wood is provided). The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to whip up delicious meals, including staples, spices, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. (Nederland's B&F Supermarket is minutes away for convenient stocking up.) If you don't feel like cooking, Nederland also has several fun restaurants or you may visit the restaurants at the Black Hawk casinos.
The master bedroom has a comfy queen-size bed, an en-suite bathroom and French doors which open onto a private deck. The second bedroom also has a queen size bed and the kids' bedroom is equipped with a bunk bed and two twin beds.
More Good Stuff In addition, there is a full bathroom near the kitchen and a washer and dryer, with detergent, for your use. On the main deck in the front of the cabin, there is a gas grill, along with plenty of seating, and the crisp, delicious mountain air abounds! Our cabin now has fast and reliable Starlink WI-FI for guests. Also, a 40" smart TV with DirectTV, aand a DVD player is located in the living room. The sunroom has an additional flat screen TV with a DVD/VHS player and an extensive movie library. There is information about the local area and also plenty of books, board games and puzzles to enjoy while on vacation. Kick back, relax and enjoy the peace!
Pets are welcome at Aspen Meadows with an additional security deposit. Although the streets leading up to the easily accessed and flat driveway of the cabin are quickly plowed after snowfall by the county, 4WD is still recommended throughout the Winter.
While enjoying the outdoor deck and gas BBQ, keep an eye out for local critters like moose, squirrels, pikas and many birds!
So Many Things to Do! The property is one mile from the entrance of Golden Gate Canyon State Park and within easy driving distance to fabulous hiking, biking, fishing, sight-seeing, skiing, gambling in the mining town of Black Hawk, and so much more. Vacationers are within walking distance to the Gilpin County Library with free computers and internet access, and two miles down the highway is the first class Gilpin Community Center. Our Center offers an indoor track, lap & activity pools, basketball & volleyball courts, dance & fitness studio, cardio equipment, weight room, hiking trail, art studio, teen room with pool, ping pong and air hockey tables, meeting rooms, lounge, free WI-FI, seasonal events and more, all available to visitors for a small fee!

This charming cabin is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. The kitchen is well appointed, the wood pile is fully stocked, games and movies are plentiful....no need to go anywhere except the backyard where you can enjoy peace and quiet. The host was easy to communicate with when I had a question.
The house is great, and worked well for my group of 3-6. Cozy mountain cabin is the perfect description. It’s secluded but convenient. Cabin is spacious and very comfortable to gather or catch a nap. It snowed one night which topped off the trip!
I have stayed here 3 times. Each time is wonderful. Based on my experience, I am reluctant to choose a different location where I have no idea what to expect. Quiet, calm...you can hear yourself think. I highly recommend this cabin.
We had a LOVELY time at this cabin! Beautiful views with a short walk around Lake Thorn. Close to Nederland and access to many nearby trails. The interior was so cozy and had a rustic cabin feel. Our entire family loved it, especially our young boys who "hiked" the "mountain" in three back yard. Thank you for having us! The Martinson and Fogle Families
This cabin was in the PERFECT location. We had the best weekend ever celebrating an anniversary. Hosts were so warm and welcoming. They left the cabin to us in such clean conditions. We are so sad we had to leave but will definitely be back!!
We had a great week staying in this cabin. We attended a concert at Red Rocks and visited the Rocky Mountain National Park. The community it's located in is beautiful as well!
We had a wonderful time. The kids and dogs loved the giant rock formation in the back of the property. The wood burning stove was great and added to the cozy vibe.
This is a well used, comfortable cabin in the woods. Everything works and the kitchen is very well equipped for a VRBO. We enjoyed our stay. There is lots to do in every direction from the cabin.
Great location, 20 minutes to Eldora and a little over an hours drive to WinterPark. The cabin was cozy and well-equipped with everything you need for a weekend getaway. We had an amazing time, can't wait to return!
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It is very well equipped with all the necessities. We enjoyed the selection of games and the kitchen has everything you need. The property was just as described. Not fancy but comfortable and a great location near Golden Gate Canyon State Park.
Loved the remote location! We really needed some quality family time. The cabin was great and had little extra things to make the stay unique. Definitely a good choice!
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The kids loved the board games. It was fun being able to turn our phones off and reconnect as a family. We saw Moose, deer, and all kinds of critters. So fun!
"Charming log cabin for a peaceful mountain getaway" is just the right description of this place. It's mere minutes from Golden Canyon State park (our objective), and the place and setting are very peaceful. The cabin was clean, well provisioned, cozy, and spacious. Communication with Viveca was very good. We loved this place!

This cabin was very nice. Everything was very well stocked with everything we needed and more. The exterior and surroundings could use some work. The neighbors were interesting but hopefully harmless other than barking dogs.

Glad you enjoyed your stay Mary. The cabin's yard is kept in a more natural state, but we've had a lot of rain this summer, so the weeds were a bit high in the front yard. We since have "weed whacked" them, but not sure what else is meant by exterior and surroundings need some work?
Of course the neighbors are harmless, and nice! You can really only see one home from our property, and we have never noticed an issue with barking dogs other than the normal dog thing.
The cabin was clean and well equipped. Our bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed a good nights sleep after exploring Golden Gate Canyon State Park, which is a short 5 minute drive from the cabin. Vivica is a great host and very easy to communicate with. If we travel to that area again we would not hesitate to stay at the cabin.
This was an awesome cabin and a great location for Nederland, Golden Gate Canyon State Park and Idaho Springs. Everyone enjoyed having their own space and bedrooms. Kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and dishes.
We enjoyed the daily visit of the Moose and her calf and it was an enjoyable walk to the lake. We were even able to see the comet from the rock pile in the back yard.
We would definitely stay here again if are in the area.
Beautiful property close to Denver/Boulder but still rustic and near to any type of mountain activity. Host was very responsive and cabin had many amenities. No cell service but decent WiFi and dish TV. Would stay here again - very good price - and so much to do, it’s hard not to go wrong choosing this location.

Thanks for the nice review Grant! Although there is not service from all cell providers, there is AT&T cellular service at the cabin. In fact we changed from Verizon because of that fact.
We were thrilled about this cabin and it didn't disappoint one bit! It was clean, relaxing, peaceful, rustic, and very cabin-y. We couldnt have asked for anything more! The location was perfect! We had never been tk that part kf CO, but we'll be back!!
The rock pile in the back was such a bonus! Viveca was wonderful to communicate with! This house absolutely made our vacation a 10/10!!!!

My husband and I met in Colorado while skiing and try to get back here whenever we can!
Why they chose this property
We love Colorado and hope to move here when our youngest son finishes school.
What makes this property unique
We love visiting the cabin any time of the year! Each season has it's special attributes. The summer is great for hiking, mountain biking and exploring and it's never hot! The fall is beautiful when the fall leaves start changing and the weather is still nice for hiking. Winter is the best. I love the dry Colorado snow and having a cozy fire. Eldora Ski resort is only 15 minutes away and is never crowded. The spring is a treat since you never know what the weather will bring. We had snow May 30th one year! Of course it was gone in the morning when the bright sun came out. I usually make a pot of coffee in the morning and then take Jax, our goldendoddle, for his morning walk around Thorn Pond while the coffee is brewing.
