About this property
Marsh Tide Cottage @ Linda's Way
If you're looking for a quiet place to unwind, this is it! Feast your eyes on the miles of tidal marsh & blue water. Take in the salty air and the peace of this serene environment. Watch the herons, egrets, ducks and pelicans feed in the marsh. Located just 12 minutes from I-95 in beautiful Shellman Bluff our 3 bedroom home offers all you need for a memorable stay. Use our backyard dock to fish, kayak or swim. Watch the sunset from the screened in porch.
Life time memories are made here!
The space
Our home is not fancy but it's more than comfortable, always spotless and you can trust that we've thought of everything. The large open living space is perfect for a family gathering yet cozy enough for romantic getaway.
We have a large, functional, well equipped eat in kitchen that seats 4, a large dining table for 8 and comfy living room with large couch & armchairs offering ample seating all with a gorgeous view of the marsh.
The 3 good sized bedrooms all with TV's offer you a hotel quality sleep.
2 bathrooms, 1 with shower off the master bedroom and 1 shared with bath.
There are ample stocks of glassware, cookware, dishes, pots/pans, towels, sheets and so many small touches. Fully air conditioned, wifi and Roku TV.
Fully fenced in yard for your furry friends.
But in the end, visiting here is all about the water, the marsh views, and the dock. The home is on a wide tidal creek just 300' from the White Chimney river that leads to the Intra-Coastal Waterway (ICW) and Sapelo Island. The water is navigable much of, but not all of day. It comes and goes twice daily with the tides. At high tide, the water is 6 feet deep and feels very protected at this end of the creek. For boaters, there is a deep water public ramp 1/2 mile from the house... you can see it from our dock. Also, we keep four kayaks and several floaties for your use as well. Getting out on the marsh in a kayak or swimming in the fresh salt water is one of the best reasons to visit the area. (Be sure read up on the tides before you go out!)
Amazingly, The New York Times travel editor visited Shellman Bluff in 2006. You can look up 'AMERICAN JOURNEYS; Shifting Sands and a Slow Pace on the Georgia Coast' to see the article.
