Best Place to Stay in Florence - Book NOW

We spent over a week at the Villa in 2023 with 26 members of our family. The entire experience was 5 star. This stay is an incredible opportunity to experience Florence with the help of an amazing team at the Villa. Guiditta, the manager is an exceptional manager and person, her dedication to service and the guests is unmatched in my experience. She was absolutely fantastic and we are now lifetime friends with her. Everything about Villa is amazing, its history, the site, the garden, pool, courtyard, buildings, architecture, fixtures, food (WOW the food). The Villa is full service, and helped us with every single aspect of the week. From the Vakay at Tuscany team who spent each day touring us around Tuscany in style, to Amerigo the amazing chef who made us some of the best food we will ever eat, to the lovely Franchesca for flowers.The staff at the villa was friendly and efficient, the grounds are amazing and the houses really are something else. This is classic Florence setting, traditional and wonderful. Rosemary trees (yes that big) and Olive oil from the grounds, flowers. If you are getting married or going for a family trip to Tuscany, stay here, let them help you plan the trip, use the vendors they have known for years and let yourself experience true Tuscany and all of its warmth and beauty. This is really a 26 person 5 start review, I am just the lucky one who gets to write it and think about it all over again. Thank you Guiditta and the whole team.

NY Goes To Florence Wedding Celebration!

Our weekend wedding celebration at Villa Merlo Nero was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome by Giuditta, who made our stay absolutely incredible. The rooms were clean and comfortable, pleasing all our guests. Giuditta impressed us with a delightful spread of food and drinks upon our arrival, a much-needed treat after a long journey. The villa served as an enchanting backdrop for our wedding reception. We started with a mesmerizing cocktail hour in the Italian maze garden, followed by a beautiful long table setup in the field next to the pool. The olive trees added a special touch to our cake presentation, and we danced the night away in front of the Italian garden and inside the elegant parol room. The following day, we enjoyed a fantastic pizza and pool party arranged with the help of Ginevra and Giuditta's recommended chef, Amerigo. The setup and food assortment were beyond our expectations, making us feel like true luxury throughout the entire weekend. The location in the outskirts of Florence is a dream come true. Whether you're planning a special celebration or seeking a delightful week away, I cannot recommend this villa enough. Our hearts are still filled with excitement, and we eagerly await the day we can return with our loved ones. Thank you Villa Merlo Nero for making our dream wedding come true!

Stunning property and amazing service

The photos don't do this property justice - it's a real stunner. The whole place is full of antiques and it's a dream for beautiful photos in the Tuscan sunshine. The air conditioning in every room is a welcome bonus. The housekeeping and property management team can't do enough to help - make sure you tell them what you're doing, as they'll do everything to help you, from setting the table, clearing up, putting out mosquito candles and liaising with taxis for you. Their recommendations are excellent - we booked their recommended chefs for dinners and pizza parties and had a fantastic experience. Leonardo's tours are also well worth it. The location is amazing for the city. The road is a little noisy, as you'd expect being 10 minutes from the city centre. Bring earplugs if you like a lie-in! Overall we had a fantastic stay and hope to go back sometime.

Gorgeous property and gracious host!

We LOVED our stay and can't wait to return. Everything was PERFECT! The staff was so helpful and all the local referrals were perfect. We couldn't be more pleased and would absolutely recommend this beautiful, historic and well-loved villa for a memorable Italian visit!

Unique Estate - Perfect Description. Outstanding, Beautiful, Comfortable, Hospitable

A few nights we had as many as 24 people staying overnight. Every person slept comfortably. First time I have stayed anywhere where someone was not satisfied with their bed. The cottage for the children, ages 7 through 15, was icing on the cake. They had their own space and the adults were able enjoy themselves without the concern of how the children were. We spent many nights, as late as 2:00AM at the pool. People at the property went out of their way to make all of us comfortable and were very accommodating. I highly recommend Villa Merlo Nero.
