Hither Hills Ocean Beach House

Montauk, at the furthest east end location in Long Island, NY, has the mystique of places at the end of the road. It offers a 'Living End' resort community with a secluded beach, sand and surf, less than 2 short blocks away.

Our 4 BR/ 3 Bth Vacation Home is located on a hillside with splendid views of the Atlantic Ocean from its decks. It is nestled among the thick vegetation and oak trees in the Hither Hills area of Montauk, which is known for its charm and serenity.

You can walk to the Ocean beach in under 5 minutes, or else drive down and park in any one of 4 private parking areas on the dunes. We supply all renters with a Parking Permit and Key to unlock gates to these areas.

Our home is modern and spacious, and the windows are designed for great natural light and their ability to direct large amounts of fresh wind off the water.

A wrap-around Outdoor Deck contains table and chairs, and is shaded under looming pine trees. It lends itself to complete privacy while dining outdoors. The Outdoor Stairs leading to the Sundeck completes the picture with expansive views of ocean and inland.

Go to sleep to the lull of the Ocean pounding against the shore, and wake to the rising sun over the water.

Whatever you decide, at Montauk ... the wind blows harder, the waves curl higher and the light reflects with a scouring whiteness off the restless back of the Atlantic.

Great location and House

This property was perfect for a family of 6 to stay for a week in montauk. The house was very clean and much bigger than the pictures give credit for. Location is perfect and access to the private beach is great for families and easy to walk too. Tom was an excellent host and very responsive to any questions we had, snd went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a beach getaway!

Great house, but next to a construction site

The house was just as pictured and detailed in the listing, and the host was very helpful and unresponsive. What was not disclosed to us prior to our trip in September 2022 was that there is a massive construction project happening immediately next door (3 large homes being built) so we were awoken each morning (even Saturday) before 8am to drilling, hammering, excavating etc. We wish this had been disclosed in advance as it really affected our experience and our ability to utilize the outdoor space.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience you incurred while staying inMTK. It’s always my intention for our guests to have an enjoyable time while staying at our home. Over the past 6 plus months with many different guests, friends and family that we’ve hosted, I’ve received zero complaints about construction noise. You are the lone complaint about this noise. Unfortunately Montauk is booming and there is construction going on all over. But, I’m not sure why someone doing construction 2 doors away is my fault-( they are doing it legally and during the time the town sets forth) and further why you would be due a full refund for for time spent out here- something I have no control over.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

A perfect weekend away. It was exactly what we were looking for. A great house for a family of 6 to get away and spend time together. The roof deck had great views and the living room was spacious and connected to dining room area where we could all sit and be together. The check in process was easy and Tom was very responsive. Overall a wonderful trip.

This is great place to stay. The house is spacious, very clean and in a very good location. Tom is a excellent host. We lost on car to the house and he arranged to have another one provided in a very short time amount of time, even though he was not in the area.

Beach house designed for groups of family or friends

My family (two couples, and an adult daughter) had a lovely stay. The obviously well-lived in but cared for house is designed for groups on vacation -- e.g. there are multiple seating areas, the living room is larger than it looks in the photo and has lots of couch space, the decks have lots of seating, etc. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need to cook/serve food. The house is well situated - though you will need a car to go into town. The ocean is an easy 10 minute walk (max) or you can drive down and park if you are bringing lots of gear/kids/etc. One slight negative: the main floor bathroom is very small with a tiny shower (but other two baths are better sized, and shower water pressure is great). Other important details: the beds are comfortable, the linens good quality, the washer and dryer are extra-large, and the host is very responsive with great recommendations if they are needed. -

Spacious Home Near Beach and Downtown

The house was exactly as described e.g. spacious and located on a quiet side street near downtown shops and restaurants. The ocean is at the end of the street and the rooftop had ocean views. The host Tom was so helpful and kind. He gave us the best recommendations for where to see the most spectacular sunset as well as dining and wineries. You will enjoy your stay here.

I rented this house with a group of girlfriends for two weeks. It was the perfect house with plenty of space for everyone and just a short walk to a beautiful private beach. Can’t beat this location and house!

Great house for fishing trip to Montauk

Had a great trip to Montauk for a guys weekend. This house was perfect for a large group with separate sleeping areas on three levels. It was an easy 2 minute drive or 5 min walk down to the beach. Close enough to town but far enough away from the center to have some peace and quiet. Owner was helpful and very easy to deal with.

The house is very spacious, and clean. The house has a side deck and rooftop deck which was super cool for star gazing. The bedrooms are good sized, and the living room is comfortable and well decorated. I would definitely stay here again!

Great vacation!

We had an amazing time at this house! It's the perfect size and in an amazing location. The (private) beach is down the street and parking pass was included. We really enjoyed the roof deck- a hidden gem that we missed on the listing! Tom was great and always prompt in responding to my questions. All we had to do when we left was take out the garbage! We look forward to staying here again next summer!

Perfect Montauk Beach House

This is the perfect Montauk beach house. The owner Tom provided all the necessary property information to make sure the stay was a breeze. House is located close to town just a short Lyft away. Bedrooms and living space is huge. Outdoor deck and roof top patio provide everything you’d want in a Montauk house. Highly recommend and you can’t beat the price!

Just not ready

My friends and I arrived at the house as confirmed 2 days prior with the owner to find that they were having the kitchen renovated and floors ripped up. We called the owner and he said he had no idea the work was being done. The owner seemed very sincere in his apologies and refunded our money, however it was very clear that the house was not ready for guests in other aspects. The outdoor shower was filled with junk, the basement also looked like it was being renovated, and the decks were splintered and dirty.
