About this property

Little Sebago Lake Gem

Cute cottage at the water's edge. This 3 bedroom 1 bath home is just a few steps from the lake. There is a dock for your boat or use the paddle boat. The water is plenty deep at the end of the dock. This quintessential Maine cabin will provide memories to your family. Play horseshoes or cornhole in the back yard. Very close to all the activities the Sebago Lake Region has to offer. Close to Portland and 2 hours from Boston.

Could have been amazing . . .
The location is amazing - literally 12 feet away from the water with an expansive view of the lake. The cottage has that classic Maine "upta camp" feel. The mattresses on the beds were very comfortable. In the evenings, the front windows provided lots of fresh air. This could easily be a 5 star review if the cottage had a few basic necessities. We were informed two weeks prior to our stay that the cottage did not have potable water and we would be required to bring our own drinking water. We were offered a refund, but we were getting together with family and there were no other options by this point. The kitchen was missing obvious necessities such as glassware, coffee mugs, and a set of dishes and plates. All that was provided was paper and plastic products. The icecaps are melting and we are expected to use petroleum based plastic cups? Some dish towels and oven mits would have also come in handy. If you are traveling with small children or elderly adults the stairs to the lake are treacherous. On our last night, the septic system backed up and we were unable to flush the toilet. I realize that "stuff happens," but it would seem that if you are renting a place out regularly that you would ensure that the septic system had been emptied before the start of the summer rental season. I think with a few basic adjustments this place would be well worth $350 a night.
