The Neighborhood:

Grant Island is a privately owned 1.4-acre island on public Brantingham Lake in the Adirondacks.

Waterfront Glamping combines a private waterfront setting with access to boating, fishing, swimming, wildlife, sunsets and stargazing.

Two popular restaurants and bars, a local general store and seasonal recreation are available on the nearby mainland. The surrounding Adirondack and Tug Hill region offers hiking, state parks, horseback riding, wineries and other outdoor activities.

Because Grant Island is accessed by boat, bring the food, clothing, medication and personal supplies you expect to need during your stay.

Interaction with Guests:

We meet you at the designated mainland parking area, help with your belongings and bring you to Grant Island by pontoon boat.

After arrival, we show you Waterfront Glamping, explain the tent steps, private convenience toilet, full bathroom route and shared island areas, and provide the required orientation for the dedicated electric jon boat.

We answer your questions, make sure you understand how the tent, bathroom access, cooking setup and boat work, and then give you space to enjoy your stay.

Lake was beautiful. Island is small, no place to walk the dog. Docks and other amenities could use Maintenance. The electric boat that was available to get back to the mainland was in disrepair. Had to rely on host. Felt a bit trapped on the island.

Perfect getaway!

This is what they mean by "glamping"! Adorable yurt, comfortable bed, everything you need to make you comfortable so that you relax. We loved it and didn't want to leave. Sitting on the dock for morning coffee, watching the boaters go by, smelling fresh Adirondack air. Amazing! We didn't even care that it rained all day the first day! Napping while listening to the rain hit the yurt was like meditating. Definitely will do this again. thanks John!!

Amazing! Everything on the island is perfect for the location. It was amazing the things we had access to for free and for rental. Host was AMAZING!! The Island and view was incredible. We stayed in the Glamping tent. Wonderful experience. (Even for a city guy) lolI would definitely do it again! Same tent! The tent is huge with EVERYTHING you need in it. Including a real toilet on the deck for #1. TV, WiFi, Alexa at the beach/fire pit area
