Clean and comfortable. Great location to town. Easy check in and welcoming host. Would go again. A little bit of road noise in the front bedroom but worth it to be so close to all the town spots. Easy parking too.
Had a great 3 nights' stay. House was roomy and clean, cozy and full of historic art. Litchfield is an exquisite town. Many shops and restaurants within walking distance.
This historic home is perfectly located, tastefully decorated, well appointed and oozing with New England charm. We loved the convenience of off street parking and walked across the street to wonderful shopping and dining opportunities. The host was very helpful and responsive and willing to accommodate us if we became stuck by the winter weather. Highly recommend!
This was a wonderful place to stay--so eclectic! Very clean, very nice rooms. There is not a full kitchen, only a kitchenette, but we made it work. Wonderful shops and restaurants within walking distance so who needs a kitchen!

I’m so glad Joyce and her friends enjoyed the 1781 Doctor’s House during their visit to Litchfield and look forward to welcoming them again here or the nearby 1782 Darling House (with a full kitchen !)
We had a wonderful time. The property was very clean and comfortable and the location could not be better! Hal was responsive to all our questions and concerns immediately. I highly recommend this property and hope to stay again.
This is a beautifully kept colonial home. Walking the path to the entryway is full of lush plantings, adding to it's charm. Our host provided everything we could need from coffee to iron and ironing board. The rooms are wonderfully furnished in keeping with the period of the house. There are ample places to sit and chat, and a lovely little patio.
Comfortable, cozy, well appointed and nicely furnished colonial house on the Litchfield green. Short walk to all local shops and restaurants. Perfect for your weekend visit to beautiful Litchfield!

We’re so pleased the family enjoyed their stay with us in Litchfield !
Hal greeted us and gave us a tour. Checking in and out was easy. The location allowed us to walk to eating places. The weather prevented us from fully enjoying the beautiful outdoor space, but we had a great time anyway.
What an incredible stay in Litchfield! Sisters weekend at our 70th camp reunion on Mount Tom Lake! This property is fantastic.. Wonderful, clean, gorgeous accommodations in an historic building with all of the modern amenities. WALK across street to village green/shops/restaurants! So comfortable and best sleep I've had in months! Host was amazing and responsive and we can't wait to go back!

I’m so pleased Stacey and her sisters had a great time in Litchfield … and her best sleep in months !
This was a wonderful place to stay for 4 nights while we were in town for my mother's funeral services. Having grown up in Litchfield I wanted something in the center of town so I could walk to restaurants and the coffee shop. It was clean, luxurious, and eccentric. Loved it!

It was a great pleasure to host Heather and her family - perfect guests !
This property is wonderful! The location is ideal both for shopping in Litchfield and visiting other towns. The property owners are absolutely amazing. Our flight got in late so we arrived late and Hal met us at the walkway with a lantern to make sure we could find everything. He gave us the complete tour and history of the house. He and his lovely wife made us feel like family throughout our stay. We wish it had been available for our whole Christmas holiday, as we would definitely continued our stay! We would love to come back and stay here again. Great place for a family!!
