About this property

Stunning Roundhouse, Waterfall, Hot Tub & Views

For your vacationing bliss is our newly-built, spectacularly designed round house situated on 5+ acres with rushing year-round creek frontage, lovely waterfall, pond, deck and a hot tub. There's no other spot like it on Earth!

With a soaring cathedral ceiling and enormous, panoramic windows, the stunning views from every angle of the house are designed to transport you into the beauty all around whether you're in the living room, loft, or tub. It's not far from town, but you won't want to leave!

NEW ON VRBO - Our house is one of the most popular and most highly rated vacation rentals in the area for the past five years on another site! And we are experienced "Superhosts" committed to making sure your experience is wonderful, relaxing and unforgettable!

The space
The design of Blue Dragonfly Hill is unique, with a wall of eight enormous windows that look out from the great room area into a magnificent meadow. You can hear or see our year-round creek, waterfall, and the pristine rolling hills in every direction. A horse farm is situated on the other side of South Wolf Creek, which runs through the property. Our quiet valley is yours: a perfect place to relax deeply whether you are walking, reading, star-gazing at night, hanging out by the gorgeous waterfall and creek. Soak in the warmth of our large hot tub while being serenaded by the sounds of frogs, crickets, birds and rushing waters as the deer and foxes wander by and you’ll find yourself staring off into the hills and contemplating just how wonderful life can be at Blue Dragonfly Hill.

After just a day in this magical spot, you will feel renewed and rejuvenated and ready to explore the culturally-rich Gold Country with two nearby towns full of hip bars, fabulous restaurants, music shows, arts festivals and concerts. The area is also renowned for mountain-biking and hiking trails galore, fly-fishing, bird-watching, white water rafting, sailing, golfing, skiing, and swimming in the wild, gorgeous, sparkling waters of Yuba River. Of course, if you are a history buff or just enjoy stepping back in time, there are old mines, old railroads, old digs, and beautifully-preserved architectural delights from stone foundry's to the entire downtown of Nevada City and it's neighbor, Grass Valley, that date back to the the 1800s Gold Rush to explore.

Accommodations: with two comfortable bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a large open loft with up to four beds (2 queens, 1 split king/2 twins, queen sofa/futon) accessed by a stylish spiral staircase, the house cozily sleeps lots of people. The gourmet kitchen is open to the living areas so the vacationing cook is part of the action and the surrounding beauty. The deck is enormous and wraps around the house so you can enjoy coffee in the morning, reading in the afternoon, and dining outside in the evening. We also have super fast wifi (fiber) & an entire house backed by Tesla batteries if there's an outage if you need to work (or just have electricity)!

Just added is our newly renovated Barn Cottage located just 100 feet from the main house. This charming cottage can provide more space and privacy for larger groups or could be available for guests who want a separate office/studio work space. It is fully heated/air conditioned, has 3 comfortable queen beds, a full bathroom, kitchenette and large screen television.

Guest access
You have the entire house and expanse of the land and its meadows, creek and waterfalls to explore with no one else around.
Other things to note
For telecommuters, we have a desk area with a plug, superfast WiFi, and plenty of quiet to make it easy to work. We also have Tesla power wall batteries backing up the whole house.

Perfect for View Lovers
We loved feeling part of the outdoors when inside of this fun yurt. A true relaxing getaway among gorgeous tree-covered hills. Lots of options for sleeping arrangements as our group came and went. I had a fantastic deep tissue massage by Skya from Nevada City who came out to the house. The home was located about halfway between Auburn and Grass Valley which was nice. Hosts were very helpful.
