Excellent Place, Property Manager, Location, Experience!
My beloved and I greatly enjoyed having this space as our home base for one week while we explored significant local architectural sites, Chicago, and offered a program at the nearby zen center. The booking went smoothly as Rob is a great communicator, and he was prompt in answering any questions both prior to booking and during the stay. He even attended our program, and it was a real pleasure to meet him in-person. In driving through many neighborhoods around Chicago, it is clear that Oak Park is a gem with particularly beautiful and varied houses and yards. Rob’s house is within walking distance to multiple Frank Lloyd Wright sites, parks, excellent restaurants, and the terrific Saturday Farmer’s Market. The unit is spacious and inviting, nicely decorated, and has a fully equipped kitchen. The cookware was high quality, which my beloved and I appreciated and were sure to handle carefully. I read all the reviews before reserving the unit, and none of the issues were present from the couple negative reviews (the spaces were all very clean and there were no signs of rodent activity, etc.). I wasn’t able to park inside the garage, as the description mentioned (due to a technical issue with the garage lock), but was able to park right next to it. The neighborhood feels very safe, so this was not an issue. Overall, this is one of the top stays in all my experience with short t-erm rentals/ VRBO’s. Thank you Rob!

Great location in Chicago
House was comfortable. There are two lovely porches to sit out in the morning or evening. You can walk to shops and stores. Television had lots of variety. Kitchen was well-equipped for making meals.

Great home, great neighborhood
We enjoyed our stay. The home was clean and ready, and the process was smooth all around. It's in a great spot, minutes from the green line and shopping. The porch was our favorite place to read and enjoy a pleasant meal together.

Transplanted Rhode Islander who has fallen in love with Chicago and Oak Park. I do a lot of travel and this is my apartment you'll be staying at!

Why they chose this property

Our house is in the Ridgeland Historical District and was build in 1914. One of only two homes on the block originally designed as a two flat. Scoville is a quiet tree lined street a walk from all the attractions that garnished Oak Park’s Frank Lloyd Wright Historic District the American Planning Association ranking as one of the Top 10 Best Neighborhoods in the Nation and the Village of Oak Park was voted Third Best Neighborhood in the United States.

What makes this property unique

Our 1200 sqft first floor apartment at 233 South Scoville Ave very comfortable, vintage home with lots of character in the heart of
Oak Park a town famous as a unique village anchored in the late 1900’s by Frank Llyod Wright’s home and studio. Oak Park is the closest western suburb of Chicago and only 8 miles to Lake Michigan and Millennium Park. The apartment is a short walk to the Green Line making it an ideal Chicago touring location or Marathon training location.
