Welcome to Lachland! (PLEASE NOTE AT THIS TIME OUR MINIMUM RENTAL IS 30 DAYS, DUE TO LOCAL LAW) This 5 bedroom home has been a beloved family vacation home for 4 generations. Lachland is located on a private, gated road. You will experience spectacular views , and nature walks that begin the moment you step outside. The gracious 3000 square foot home easily contains and entertains a large family or friends group. Very comfortably sleeps 13 guests, with additional space for squeezing a few more in. The house began life as a barn in the late 1800's. It was then converted to a hunting lodge in the early 20th century. It has been in our family since the late 1940's, when the hunting lodge was converted once again to a family home. The original hand-hewn barn beams are still visible in much of the house. The decor has charming vintage appeal with many original details. Bedrooms include: the master bedroom suite with a king sized bed, private bathroom and dressing area, the all season 'sleeping porch' that is great for kids or families with 5 twin beds, the green room with 2 twin beds, the blue room with 2 full beds, and the sunrise room which has a king sized bed (custom built raised bed to witness the sunrise, truly awe-inspiring). Vintage 1950's kitchen is well equipped and has large modern appliances. There are several serious cooks in our family, so the kitchen is well stocked for cooking and baking. The dining room is directly adjacent to the kitchen and has seating for up to 15 at an antique banquet table. Many of our guests have commented how wonderful and rare it is to be able to sit down together at one table. A large living room makes it easy to reconnect with family and friends. A stately Steinway piano, circa 1893, adds to the fun. The living room is part of the original barn structure, and maintains a rustic elegance. Lounging on the wide open porch and soaking up the spectacular views is a required activity. You will have access to basic household items such as dish soap, paper towels, aluminum foil, etc, to make your vacation seamless. House linens are provided, no need to bring sheets towels, or extra blankets. Explore the grounds and be taken in by the sweeping lawn, rock formations and rolling fields that surround the house. Spend a lovely evening at the stone fire pit, roasting marshmallows and watching the fireflies. Make sure the kids visit our fairy house, a favorite of the Lachland children. Perhaps the best feature of the house is the vista of the surrounding mountains and the Ashokan Reservoir. The open porch and raised stone patio allow for breathtaking views, and many of the bedrooms have excellent views also. Large picture windows in the living room, dining room, and kitchen ensure that you'll have great scenery inside the house too. A unique getaway in a truly beautiful area. High speed satellite internet/Wi-Fi. Please contact us with any questions, we are more than happy to assist you.

Loved our stay! The layout was perfect. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook for our large group. Love the large dinning table area. Will definitely stay again!
Beautiful location and view, extremely quiet. Room enough for everyone (we had 9 adults and 3 kids). We hosted an Easter dinner for 15, the kitchen and dining room had room to spare. We had beautiful spring weather so most time was spent on the huge porch or around the fire pit.

Fantastic place
This place is absolutely charming and there's really nothing critical we can say about it. Views are spectacular, layout is great for a large group such as ours, dealing w/ the owners was effortless. We had 14 people there in bitter cold and all were cozy, enchanted, and delighted. Highly recommended!
We were in town for the Woodstock Film Festival. The location was great for all the venues and the house very comfortable. The gate on Walton Road was a bit cumbersome and did not seem necessary
The property was exactly what we needed for our weekend away. We took a group of 8 children and five adults and everyone had an incredible time. The house was exactly as described and more - it had all of the amenities one could possibly need. Tammany was super communicative and wonderful. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a getaway.
The house was perfect for a large family gathering.
The house was large enough for a big family gathering. The dining room table accommodated 18 for Christmas dinner. The views were amazing and I was able to watch stunning sunrises from the bedroom window. The host was very accommodating when we had to change are plans due to weather. I highly recommend this property to large groups.
House easily held 13 people comfortably. House layout was especially conducive to shared experiences. Huge living area, large dining room table able to seat everyone, play room for children all flowing. Sleeping rooms also exceptional. And of course the view from almost every room was spectacular. Have done this family/friend retreat over President's Day for many years. This was the best.

Catskills Estate
Beautiful home. Amazing, quiet, secluded property. The pictures do not do this property justice. Tammany was more than accommodating. I would love to go back!!! Thank you for a great stay.
Old world charm, but with comfort . Cozy. Woodsy, lots of spirit. The dining room alone was amazing. The silence and the views were espetacular. My guests were beyond impressed. We

Wonderful, homey place with lots of character
Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our family reunion at Lachland. The open porch is perfect for gathering and the kids loved the big yard and the "fairy house." There is plenty of room to spread out and the smaller cottage and two smaller cabins allows for privacy. A wonderful place with wonderful atmosphere (and great views of the valley!) And for our family, the beautiful (and in-tune) Steinway piano make it extra special!!
Tammany, the property manager, could not have been more helpful. The house was all we had hoped for: comfortable, well appointed, a cozy atmosphere with a kid friendly space, games, piano, sunny porch with gorgeous views of the valley below. Comfortable beds, a fully applianced kitchen well stocked with tableware and cookware. The dining room prefers a large picture window. Would definitely go back for another visit.
I looked at a lot of homes that could accommodate our group in Woodstock and after staying at Tammany’s family’s unique home I couldn’t have wished for a better spot. The views over the reservoir kept us out on the patio/decks most of the time. We could even watch multiple fireworks being shot off around the area from our perch! There has definitely been much happiness at this home as the vibe is really great. We baked, created, sang, and reconnected at this house. Tammany was an exceptional host going above and beyond to respond to any of our needs. We would highly recommend this home.

Great house and setting...highly recommended
My wife and I rented Lachland for a family vacation with children and grandchildren, so we had all ages and maxed out the allowable occupants. We also rented the additional cottage. We were there the last few days or June and first few days of July. The weather was beautiful with warm days and cool nights – there was a constant cool breeze. Great deck areas to gather, take in the view and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The house is very well equipped and we could seat our entire group comfortably in the dining and living rooms. The view is beautiful, there are even hummingbird feeders attached to the picture windows so you get special visits while you gaze out at the Ashokan Reservoir. There is a significant amount of mowed lawn area for family games and fun. The fire pit was a big hit with the kids and we used it every night, thanks to an ample supply of seasoned fire wood.
We took in some local swimming options Peekamoose Blue Hole and Millstream Swimming Hole – both are good accessible adventures. Woodstock is about 15 minutes away for shopping and entertainment.
This is a fantastic house and setting. Our children and grandchildren have all given their highest rating. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.
Three families stayed very comfortably here for 3 nights. Every room is spacious, comfortable & clean, gorgeous views, easy drive to Woodstock, Kingston, great hikes.
Beautiful and cozy home in a great location with amazing views
We're five friends gathering for an extended weekend. Tammany is very responsive. The home is so beautiful and cozy. We enjoyed hanging out in the spacious living and dining rooms.
The dining room has a large window with an amazing view of Ashokan reservoir and beyond. Will be visiting again soon.
A group of us knitters, 6 to be exact, swarmed to the Rhinebeck area for a weekend of wooly fun. We needed a location that we could relax, knit and socialize in between activities. This house fit the bill. It was fully equipped for a much larger group. Plenty of comfy beds, bathrooms, comfy living room seats and a great fireplace. The views are incredible and watching the sunrise was an activity enjoyed and captured by all.
It is a bit dark in the living room so if you are knitting, bring your neck light.
We would stay again!
Beautiful property and home. Although the home is very large, it is a quintessential farmhouse cozy. The living room in particular is wonderful to be in during nights and rainy weather. Tammany was extremely friendly and responsive... everything you could ask for in a host. Will be visiting again soon.
The house is very clean, well stocked and very comfortable. The grounds are large with a lovely view. We had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay.
Just spent a long weekend here. Very well done. Everything we could want in a rental and more. The view is fantastic. Very peaceful. We were 5 old friends, but the house could easily handle 15 people.
The favorable reviews overall from what I read prior to renting captured our stay there to a “T”
Tammany was very responsive and overall we all were very satisfied with our stay.
We hope to be back again soon.
