About this property

Stunning 3BR beachfront property, w/ private steps to the beach

Nestled in the fishing village of Half Moon Fort on the northwest coast of Barbados, Barefoot Leaf is a highly sustainable beachfront home with access to a beautiful, secluded beach and some of the best sunset views on the island. With an aim to tread lightly on the planet and promote a responsible and simple approach to modern living, our little dream home was shaped by three key elements of the island – the Sun, the wind, and the people of Barbados.

The space: This beautifully designed villa features 3 bedrooms with ensuites, all with ocean facing balconies. Two bedrooms are on the second floor and one on the lower level. The lower level has a stylish fully equipped kitchen with a large island-breakfast bar, perfect for entertaining. Living area, opens onto a covered terrace with dining and lounging furniture. Private gate leads to steps down to a quiet beach which offers exceptional swimming. This stunning villa is surrounded with well manicured gardens.

Neighborhood: This home is located in the fishing village Half Moon Fort on the northwest coast of Barbados. Fresh fish can be purchases at the local fish-market down the street and there is a small general store in the village for essentials. A short walk down the coast is The Fish Pot Restaurant. Speightstown is a short drive or bus ride and offers all the amenities, shopping, banking, beach bars and restaurants.

Getting Around: Car rentals are quite popular and are great for those who'd like to adventure around the island! Taxis are also available and can be arranged throughout your stay. Airport transportation can be arranged from and to the airport at an additional cost. Buses are safe, economical and lots of fun, it is best to avoid rush hour as they get very full with work commuters and school children. We can assist with all car rentals and taxis to ensure you are using a reputable/trustworthy recommendation.

Guests: A personal check in by host. Housekeeping is included and additional services chef and taxis can be provided for a fee. Your host will be available to assist with any queries you have whilst staying with us. At any time can be reached via phone or email.

This is a superbly designed and well-appointed house with a picture perfect beach in front of it. We have loved every minute of our stay in Barbados and staying here was extremely comfortable and relaxing.

The villa was even more spectacular than the photos. The beach is one of the nicest in Barbados (my opinion) due to the clarity of the water, perfect sand and privacy. We also loved being just a couple of houses down from where the small fishing boats come in and we bought fresh red snapper from them one day and cooked it on the BBQ. There is also a small supermarket right across the street from where the fishing boats come in which carried a lot of essentials including fresh fruit and veg. The location of the villa north of Speightstown has the advantage of being quiet and private, but the Fish Pot restaurant is only a 3 minute drive (or 15-20 min walk) and was fabulous. Speightstown restaurants are also close by. Pier One is also very close by and we loved that as a lunch spot. Snorkeling was fun, especially on the reef to the north side of the villa - saw some very colorful fish. Highly recommend this villa, and we hope to come back again soon.

Pure Heaven

This beautiful villa was everything we had hoped for! Right on the beach surrounded by sweet scented flowers, almond and breadfruit trees. These brought lots of birds including antillean crested hummingbirds and kingbirds. The villa was immaculately clean and not lacking for anything. Kitchen was well stocked and host was quick to respond. We noticed there wasn’t a microwave which was listed on amenities and she went out and bought one for us that same day. The waves were crashing and there was a few roosters calling throughout the night but I enjoyed the sounds and my spouse just used earplugs. There are electric shades that you can pull down to block the hot sun if needed. Overall a wonderful experience and would definitely book here again! Fish Pot down the street serves delicious but expensive food- well worth the money! Also there are a few homes nearby where the women will cook for you as take out. Water was lovely though not much for snorkeling.
