SECLUDED MOUNTAIN GETAWAY WITH MOUNTAIN VIEWS/PRIVATE LAKE ACCESS/PET OK/WIFI
Headwaters Hideaway is a secluded and cozy mountain cottage/cabin in the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains a short distance from Brevard/Rosman NC, the South Carolina/North Carolina State line. We worked this past winter to clear more trees and our mountain views are even more stunning than ever. This area is known as the "Land of Waterfalls" and Transylvania County alone has 250 waterfalls, thousands of miles of laurel-lined trails and roads and endless outdoor adventures.
Pet fee is $75 per stay for well-behaved dogs not more than 50 lbs. **If pets are not marked and paid for at the point of booking, we reserve the right to cancel the booking at the point of check -in without refund. We ask that the dogs be potty trained and be light to non-shedders. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG UNATTENDED AT THE PROPERTY. IF YOU LEAVE TAKE THEM WITH YOU! Please be aware that any damages or excessive dog hair or dog related cleanup will result in additional charges. We want everyone to have a good time and enjoy our fur babies, but we need to have some rules to ensure the enjoyment of all guests, our dogs included.
Our cottage is located on 6 acres in the private "Line Runner Ridge" community with excellent mountain views and access to a stunning and PRIVATE mountain lake where guests can picnic, swim, fish and paddle. We are located about a 10-minute drive from the closest paved road and our cottage is a very short drive/hike (less than 1 mile along a private gravel road) to the lake entrance and parking. Just take a right onto Line Runner Road off Willow Road until it dead ends at the lake entrance gate. Make sure to take the owner badge and gate key provided!
The cottage has a queen size bed on the first floor with 2 twin beds in the loft. The loft is accessed by a beautiful spiral staircase. There is a full kitchen with sink, fridge and stove/oven. There is also a gas grill outside on the front deck. There is one full size bathroom with shower and tub. Outside fireplace patio area to take in the view and a detached wooded deck for dining or just relaxing.
Located in Transylvania County about a 20-minute drive from beautiful Brevard, North Carolina. Brevard has wonderful restaurants, shopping and entertainment which you can enjoy and then retreat to your oasis in the woods. The entrance to Pisgah National Forest is just north of Brevard and about 30 minutes-drive from the cabin.
Our cottage/cabin is the perfect base for exploring the hundreds of waterfalls in the area or taking in the beauty of fall leaf season. There are also tons of great hiking, biking, fishing and hunting options in the area. If you want the mountain outdoor experience without the hassle of camping and crowded public camp sites, this is it!
We like to let people know that although our driveway may seem steep at first, this is typical for the area, and we have not yet had anyone who could not make it to the house with 2-wheel drive vehicle.

You know what really stood out other than the place being very unusual, was I felt the blankets and the linen were clean. Particularly the blankets. They took the time to wash them between guests. The place is beautiful!!!

Beautiful property that is great to visit if you want to get away from it all. Perfect house for our family of 4. My family enjoyed access to the private lake to fish. We also really enjoyed the outdoor fireplace! Will be planning a trip back!
Nice cottage in a very secluded location. Nicely decorated and well stocked. The lake and dock are very nice as well. Wish we had brought a kayak or canoe.
Quiet, secluded and peaceful. The drive back into the community is serene. Private lake 0.4 miles from property was a bonus. Outdoor fireplace gives a relaxing end to a beautiful day exploring beautiful fall colors in the Pisgah Forest and surrounding area.
The property was perfect for our family of three and our two boxer dogs!!! Secluded, clean, and peaceful. The lake was nice too!!! We enjoyed hiking and fishing in the area and coming home to dinner and cards in the sunroom.

Thank you for the great review! We hope to host you again soon!!!
The location was in a nice area and had good views! It is very secluded. The cabin is very cozy and was perfect for my family of 3. It was very clean and well stocked. Everything was very comfortable and we will visit again.
Super cute, well-appointed place. Very clean. Our minivan did have a bit of trouble on the last steep turn up to the house (largely because heavy rain had rutted the road quite a bit).
We had a wonderful stay at this cozy and charming cabin! It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway with friends or adults looking to unwind. The cabin has a warm, welcoming feel and was thoughtfully furnished with everything we needed. One of our favorite features was the beautiful sunroom — it became our go-to spot for meals, morning coffee, and late-night conversations. The natural light and peaceful setting made it such a delight. The cabin was clean and had a great layout for group connection and downtime. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in a cute and comfortable setting. We’d love to come back!

Thank you for the great review! We hope to host you again soon!!!
I really enjoyed my stay. The location was great for different mountains, waterfalls and hiking. The house was perfect for me and my little dog. The only issues for me was the difficulty i had getting my front wheel drive car up the drive and how unkept the yard was. The property manager Spence was extremely helpful and timely in getting back to me with answers to any question. I will definitely want to stay again.
What a cute cabin in the woods. Very secluded and private. Check in process was very easy. Communication with the host was great and we even extended our stay an extra day. Loved being able to access the lake and attempt fishing although we did not have any bites. First part of our stay was rainy but the cabin had a nice smart tv, although it did have zoom issues from time to time. Saw a mother deer and twins as well as just a solo fawn. Had a bear visit our car one night although we did not have food in our car. Had a good time using the fire place and roasting marshmallows/ hot dogs. Kitchen was well stocked and the house had nice amenities. We had a great stay and would be back!
Wow! Couldn’t ask for a better place to get away from all the hustle & bustle! This place has amazing views from the top of the mountain. Nice &.cozy in this rustic cabin. Plenty of beautiful, color-changing trees with amazing sunrises & sunsets. Outdoor space is just unforgettable. Sitting out by the open fire enjoying the peaceful, great outdoors was something we’ll cherish forever. Actually, we will be back to do this again!
My family and I (2 adults, 3 kids under 13) went to stay for several days and really loved it! It was so quiet and peaceful; the kids loved playing basketball and playing around the property/woods. The outdoor fireplace area was perfect for making s'mores and we were able to see TONS of stars since there is little to no light pollution. The kitchen was great and enabled us to cook our own meals easily rather than going out all of the time. There were tons of games and two TVs. We loved seeing the deer in the mornings as we ate breakfast in the sunroom. We found great hiking in the area and easily made a day trip to Asheville. We can't wait to go back in the summer!
This cabin is really nice and in a private gated mountain neighborhood. It's on top of a ridge with a view, multi acre lot, total silent privacy, and even has a small concrete pad with a basketball goal. Theres an outdoor fire place and patio set up for meals outside. Close to tons options for hiking, paddling, and exploring the many, many waterfalls in the area. Afterall, Transylvania county is the "Land of Waterfalls"... :) We caught the sunset on sassafras summit, the highest point in SC with a wheelchair accessible observation tower similar to the one on mt mitchell. You have 360 degree view and only 20 min from the cabin! We also brought our canoe and paddled around the large private pond in the community, its apparently stocked with several fish species, some, catfish and a few others, you're allowed to take - within limits. The pond was perfect for our family with our 6 and 3yr old boys, big enough to feel like you're exploring but also protected from wind / open water. We also hiked at gorges state park, courthouse falls, and twin falls, all close by. There is a small grocery store in Rosman and a Mexican restaurant that was very good, many more options and an ingles 20 min away in brevard. We cant wait to come back!
