Awesome little spot. My husband and I stayed for 8 nights and it was very comfortable. We cooked every meal and were able to walk the park or the canal after dinner each night. Neighborhood was quiet and full of beautiful homes. Would stay there again for sure!

The house was exactly as described and very cozy. Neighborhood was fantastic. We really loved Carondelet Park, which is walking distance a few blocks away. The host was very accommodating and made extending our stay SUPER easy. Highly recommend!!!

Great Family Getaway

The home is located in a great neighborhood. Close to multiple parks and some of the best food options on The Hill and Ted Drewes famous frozen custard. Two memory foam king sizes beds, a kitchen with updated appliances and a large sink, large dining table, and a cozy family room helped our family enjoy our stay. If it were a bit cooler during our visit we may have taken an evening or two in the sunroom. Mabel is an excellent host. We received timely and thoughtful communication leading up to our stay in addition to a quick check-in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend and will stay there again when we visit again!

We spent two lovely days enjoying a Cardinal game, going up in the arch and doing a steamboat cruise on the Mississippi. We played lots of games on the great dining room table and enjoyed great sleep on the comfy beds.

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The property was well represented online. It was a clean and modern update on a classic home in a classic middle-class, post-World War 2 neighborhood. We felt the neighborhood was safe and friendly. Their is a convenient grocery jsut a short 2-3 minute drive. We loved eating at the dining room table from a local barbecue place we recommend, the Stellar Hog.

Girls weekend at "the cottage"

We had such a great weekend, what a cozy place to stay! We kept commenting on the unique, original parts of the house, from the tile to the stained glass windows to door handles and faucets. We especially like the little mail slot and laundry chute! Property was as described, and communication was prompt. We felt safe and enjoyed the neighborhood. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we have an event in the area.

Wonderful Grandma house!

If you have an affinity, as I do, for a beautiful, vintage grandma house, this is the one you want. This house has been updated to modern standards (cold AC, grounded outlets, modern appliances, etc) while keeping that endearing charm. (original hardwood, mail pass through, coal chute, etc). Most of the windows are gorgeous stained glass, which apparently is a St Louis thing. The bedrooms are spacious and well appointed, and the beds are huge and comfy. The neighborhood is nice, clean, quiet, and contains many lovely homes from the same era. Our host was fantastic, attentive, and quick to reply. All said, you can't go wrong with this place. It ticks ALL the boxes

Easy to get to and from sights to see. Off street parking and near a park. Lots of nice little details like starter coffee, tea and kettle, brita filter for water in the fridge, ice made, etc. Easy communication with host though not much ever needed. Great stay!
