The Space:

The newly renovated Barrett Cottage is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 682 sq foot home located in the heart of Big Bear City. Corner lot with fully fenced front yard. Beautiful, updated kitchen with full sized appliances. This home is considered single story home (there is a loft area). All bedding and bath towels are provided.
Bedroom 1: (Primary) Queen bed, nightstands, and 42” smart tv.
Bedroom 2: Twin bunk bed with twin trundle, nightstand, closet.
We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cotton balls, cotton swabs and floss picks. Hand towels (1) and wash cloths (2) are also be provided. The bath towels are not for lake use, please bring extra for the lake.
Bathroom: Tiled Shower, single sink.
Living Room: Open to kitchen and dining area. Large cozy couch, 60” smart Tv for your streaming services, limited games.
There is a loft area in this home; however, access is steep. Enter at your own risk. Young children should be watched for the ladder/stairs. The loft has two bean bags, but not necessarily made for guests use.
Dining- Table seats 4 comfortably, 2 extra chairs are provided. Additional seating at kitchen bar for 3.
Kitchen: Fridge, gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, 12 cup drip coffee, and Keurig style coffee maker. Fully stocked with all utensils, cookware, and dishware. We provide a starter pack of ground coffee, sugar, k-cups, paper towel, and trash bags. Other spices for cooking are limited and not guaranteed.
Yard – You have access to the 4-foot chain link fenced front yard. There is no access to the backyard area. The placement of the home has a connecting back yard that does not belong to Barrett Cottage. It is fenced, and does not take from your privacy in the front yard area.
Deck- Located in front of home. Two lounge chairs, 4 arm chairs, propane firepit, and grill. We do provide propane. The tank is changed once a week; however, if it is empty upon arrival you can swap it(CVS, Walgreens) or fill it (DIY). We will reimburse the tank swap with a picture of itemized receipt.
Parking: Flat gravel parking for up to 2 vehicles. Located in front of the home. You do need to walk around to a gate to enter property. No street parking allowed.
Entry- Main entrance has 5-6 steps into the home. The backdoor has 3 steps.
This home does not allow any type of animals. This does include service animals. The owner is highly allergic to even the most hypoallergenic of animals. Please respect the owners and their health by selecting a pet friendly home. We have many homes where we can host your entire family, reach out for other options!

Guest Access:
The loft area is a use at own risk area of the home. This is due to the steep ladder/stairs. You're not missing much by not using the loft area. One closet is locked for owner/cleaner use only. Otherwise you have access to everything.

Getting Around:
We recommend having your own transportation. There is public transportation which can be found .3 miles from the home. To view this option search Mountain Transit. They also have a free trolley to the main parts of town.
Taxi, Uber, and similar services are hit or miss and should not be relied on.
Other Things to Note:
Reminder- This is the mountains. We do our best to control what we can. We spray and leave bait for pests, do our best to prevent rodents, and remove weeds throughout the year. Most of our homes do have sap producing trees.

We want you to have the best experience possible so you’ll come back to visit us again soon. Here are some tips on how to avoid some of the common complaints we get about short-term rentals. The number one rule to remember is being a vacation home renter also means being a good neighbor.
PARKING (2 vehicles)
All short-term renters must park on the rental property. No street parking is
allowed. The number of approved spaces for your rental can be found on the information posted inside the unit.
NOISE
We know you have good taste in music, but your neighbors might not. So turn down the volume and keep all noise to a minimum. Guests are advised to adhere to quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
PETS (No Animals allowed, this includes service animals)
Pets are required to be leashed or kept in an enclosed area on the property at all times. Dogs are required to be licensed. Barking or other animal noise may result in noise complaints.
TRASH
Please place all trash in approved containers. Ensure containers are closed to
keep animals out. Do not place trash bags or other uncontained trash anywhere on the property.
OCCUPANCY (5 guests this includes adults, children, and infants)
Exceeding the occupancy limit could result in expulsion from the rental, fines, or both. The approved number of people allowed in the unit can be found on the information posted inside the unit.
PROHIBITED USES
Short-term rentals may not be used for commercial purposes, such as filming, corporate retreats, conferences, or wedding receptions.
COMPLAINTS
The County operates a 24-hour hotline where residents can report short-term rental violations. All complaints are investigated and can result in a $1,000 citation.
