We walked in and were even more happy with the house. The back porch was great for us to hang out and eat and the great room was lovely for our group games. It was perfect.
6 of us gathered at the house for a biking weekend. It was a terrific location for biking and Lorna, the host, was very helpful with questions prior to the trip and responsive throughout the weekend. She allowed early check in and sweetly added small customized touches to the house to welcome us. The bedrooms were nice sizes and beds were comfortable. We had an issue with one of the shower water handles so ended up using just one shower but it was fine. The outdoor shower did not appear to be hooked up. There appears to be a hard water issue at the house so there are a few instances of water stains/corrosion that be unsightly. Once we figured it out, made us feel a bit more comfortable but that is why the overall score is reduced and suspect that is what other reviewers may have been referring to. The backyard is as pictured, we spent some time outside, some of the patio furniture is tired.

Thank you for your stay and for highlighting the comfortable beds, ideal location, and the personalized touches we included to make your visit enjoyable. I always try to be responsive and accommodating, including offering early check-in and providing detailed information to help guests feel at home.
To clarify for future guests: we have fresh, tested well water that is clean and safe to drink. Due to the natural minerals present, some corrosion on fixtures can occur over time. Most guests understand that booking a home in the country comes with the quirks that well water provides. We clean thoroughly between every stay, but short of replacing the fixtures every year, some cosmetic wear is inevitable.
The shower in question is fully functional, and I provided detailed instructions on how to operate it — it’s a unique design, but straightforward once understood. As for the outdoor shower, it is not listed as an amenity.
We always appreciate thoughtful feedback and do our best to create a welcoming, comfortable experience.
We had a great stay at this vacation rental! The location is fantastic – close to beach and quiet and peaceful. One of the highlights was the lovely backyard, which was perfect for relaxing and dining outside. The grill worked really well and made outdoor meals a pleasure. The living room was also a standout space, cozy and comfortable for movie nights. The kitchen is large and great for cooking, but it could use a few upgrades. There weren’t enough plates and glasses for our group, and the knives and pans are quite worn. It would also be helpful to have more cooking essentials like additional cutting boards and prep tools.A few maintenance items to note: the planters on the back deck were filled with weeds instead of flowers, which took away from the outdoor atmosphere a bit. The deck itself could also use a fresh coat of paint. Inside, two of the mattresses were in need of replacement—they just weren’t very comfortable. Also, only one of the bedrooms has air conditioning. Luckily, we had perfect sleeping weather and didn’t need it, but that could be an issue in hotter weather.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The house has a lot of potential and with a few updates, it could be even better!
