A wonderful stay! A great home away from home to relax and visit with family and friends in an idyllic seaside location. We love Little Compton and this home was truly comfortable and perfectly set up for family games, meals, beach time and together time!
The house is beautiful and the location couldn't be more picture-perfect. Our family had room to be together and space to find a quiet reading spot or play Scrabble. We enjoyed the kitchen and all its amenities and the beach (with the Adirondack chairs) was a hit. We would certainly stay here again.
The home and property were just as described. The house is super comfortable with everything needed for our family’s stay. We all enjoyed watching all the wildlife in the area. All the views from the house were stunning.
Lovely beach house with amazing views of the ocean .
Our family absolutely loved staying here ! The house is beautifully appointed , was well stocked with cooking supplies , had an outdoor grill and was very comfortable. In particular, I really appreciated waking up to the gorgeous sunrises over the ocean from our bedroom window each morning . Our family really enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the fire pit which was on the private beach . The owners , Rob and Charlie were very attentive , accessible and accommodating. We are very grateful we were able to stay at their lovely beach house .
It is a fantastic spot in the beautiful Little Compton, with excellent beach access in front of the property. A slice of heaven. The home itself is clean and well maintained, with many amenities. The property management communication is pleasant, with the guests' best interests first and foremost. We are always sad to leave although grateful for the memories! Cannot wait to visit again.
We were desperate for a vacation as the country started to reopen in June, but wanted a property and an area where we could feel safe away from crowds. This home popped out to us right away. We had never vacationed in Rhode Island, but this exceeded every expectation and enabled us to create some amazing family memories that will always be a bright spot from these uncertain times. Rob and Charlie were fantastic and helped to make that possible.
My husband was interested in a kayak and Rob had one at the house, along with a PFD (perfect, since my husband forgot his). They knew our young daughter was excited to have evening campfires on the beach, and they had a little welcome basket with s'more makings. To that end, their campfire area on the beach has everything you need -- adirondack chairs, kindling, wood, etc. It was so special for us.
The cove behind the house was completely deserted most days. We smartly packed water shoes (which you will need, as it's mostly a pebbly beach). Our daughter enjoyed swimming there, as it's quite gentle. We also appreciated the passes to private Briggs Beach, which we found to be just stunning and not rough either. Our daughter had a blast jumping waves for hours! In June, there was plenty of space on the beach, so social distancing wasn't an issue. Masks are required to and from the parking area. The beach has facilities, but due to COVID, we were more comfortable just zipping the less than 10 minutes back to the house. Speaking of the house...
My husband especially loved the nautical decor. It has such a wonderful New England feel to it. Given we weren't going to any restaurants, we really appreciated the spectacular waterfront views while cooking in the wonderfully appointed kitchen -- everything we needed! Every evening, we enjoyed a cocktail on the deck, staring at the view. There is a hot shower out back, which was awesome, especially to keep sand out of the house with a young child in tow.
It was such a relaxing week and the trip exceeded our expectations. It was a silver lining to COVID, as our vacations are usually to many of the same places at the same time. This was a bit of an anomaly, but I would love to return here again someday soon. Thank you, Rob and Charlie!
This house is on a private road in a tucked-away, beautiful, water-side location, overlooking a lovely private beach. The views are spectacular, changing with weather and the time of day. The house is historic with some very tasteful and useful and appropriate updates, to make it very comfortable, attractive and livable. We loved swimming at a beautiful nearby beach. The yard facing the water is expansive--great for a croquet tournament! There is a handy outdoor shower and clothesline, and a deck facing the water with plenty of seating. We spent a lot of time out there! We saw whales offshore with binoculars, and spotted a seal in the cove, as well as a great blue heron and many other birds. The bedrooms are pretty and comfortable and the upstairs master bedroom suite with private bath is especially luxe and lovely. My family enjoyed the puzzles supplied! All in all, we loved our stay here, and the hosts Charlie and Rob were very friendly and responsive to our needs. I would not hesitate for one millisecond to return to this stellar property! So grateful we got to stay here!!
We stayed here with three generations and it was a great size space for us to all gather together in the kitchen, relax in the living room, or hang out on the deck, but then be able to spread out and have our own (air conditioned) bedrooms. The views out to the beach and water from the kitchen and the large bedrooms were stunning. The kids loved running around the big yard, digging in the sand, gathering seaweed, and throwing rocks in the water. We took several nice family hikes and bike rides through the local trails and enjoyed produce, dairy, and berry picking from the local farms. The area was very quiet and peaceful and we were able to see lots of wildlife right out the windows. It was a great place to be able to connect with each other and have our own space to come back to at the end of each adventurous day.
The house was comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked for a week cooking and baking over the winter holidays. But, it is really the location that is truly special. Although the pictures show the ocean front location, they don't really capture how private and magical the yard and beach can be if you like spending time outside in a beautiful place.
