About this property
Private Beach Studio - Lakefront Property
Pamper yourself with a stay at our 'Private Beach Studio:' a mountain retreat in a lakefront complex.
Walk to the Lake. Unwind in our community hot tub, under the stars. Easy access to skiing, beach, hiking, groceries, restaurants and more.
The space
PRIVACY, LUXURY, LAKE ACCESS WITHOUT THE CROWDS.
We have the best location in the Lake Tahoe Basin: walk to the Lake, the best North Shore restaurants, the 24 hour supermarket, recreation, and more. This modern and romantic mountain retreat is the perfect size for a couple or a small family or group of friends. The property has a spectacular lake view, but the unit has a "garden" view of the well-manicured pool and spa area in the rear of the property.
The compact studio is about 450 square feet, 40 square meters, and comfortably sleeps 2 adults. Additional occupants, including children, are allowed for short term stays only, with approval (by strict hoa rules). Maximum occupancy for longer stays is 2. The studio offers one queen murphy (fold-up) bed and one twin bunk bed in a sunny nook which can be used for additional short term guests or children. Our cozy studio is only 7 miles (11 minutes) to Northstar. We're also less than a 25 minute drive to many other North Shore resorts: from world-class destinations like Squaw Valley or Alpine Meadows, to affordable locals' favorites like Mount Rose, Diamond Peak, or Homewood.
Any time of year, you can take a walk on the beach at sunset. Or take a short easy drive to North shore casinos, amazing restaurants, and several of kings beach's many parks and recreation areas. Walk across the street to 'back-door' access to a network of hiking or cross-country-skiing trails. Enjoy a massage or facial at a quaint, locally-owned North Lake Massage and Skin Care spa less than a mile away. Unwind in our community hot tub, under the stars, just a short dash out the back door.
Monthly bookings available. 30 night minimum is required. The monthly rates vary by season and the rate shown is the off-season monthly rate. Rates can be substantially higher during the peak summer months - please enter your dates for an instant quote or inquire with the owner for more details.
For all bookings, signing a rental agreement is required prior to receiving access instructions (see house rules).
A few details to note about the complex and my unit:
—it has a small fridge (undercounter size 4.5 cubic feet - but it’s still a proper fridge with separate fridge and freezer, and I’ve always thought it works great for the compact space. Grocery store is literally one minute away)
— it has limited storage because it is a small footprint(but there is a proper closet with some space for clothes and a small dresser too).
—It is ground floor (but this makes for easy access and my location in the building affords an excellent indoor/outdoor feeling).
—Being ground floor means you can hear shuffling feet of upstairs neighbors on occasion. It’s just part of apartment living. It has never bothered me because it’s occasional and to be expected in a condo setting. In general it’sa very quiet building, almost to the point of feeling deserted sometimes. So generally it’s very restful and peaceful.
—My unit is adjacent to the laundry room (believe it or not this is actually a wonderful benefit - not only is the coin op laundry super easy to access and use, even in your bath slippers because it’s next door, but it also means my unit doesn’t share a wall with another unit on one side, making it quieter than some other units. The washer and dryer are on the far side of the laundry area away from my unit so laundry noise is relatively non existent and nobody uses it after 9 pm anyways).
—There is parking for only one car per unit by hoa rules - hoa is very strict and will dole out fines for unauthorized extra vehicles.
—The location can’t be beat. It is literally steps from a quiet beach. Sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking there. It is close to everything.
—Pool closes in September and opens in May but community hot tub usually stays open year round but without a guarantee.
Guest access
The private studio on the ground floor has a basic, coin operated laundry facility the next door over and a short path down to a private, residents-only beach. There is a pool in summer and an outdoor hot tub under the stars year round.
