Fabulous house in a great location. We had a fantastic week in Little Compton, and the proximity to the beach was a bonus. Donatella was wonderful. The kitchen is well-stocked, so we had everything we needed to make meals.
Donatella's beach house is great. It is well laid out, clean and uncluttered. The garden is really nice. The location is a 20 minute walk from the beach or a short drive or bike ride. It has everything one would want for a beach stay including beach chairs and a cooler.
Our family vacation was wonderful and relaxing in a beautiful, clean house located in a nice neighborhood. My first time on VRBO and was impressed with ease of booking and very delightful and helpful property manager. Look forward to go next year!
Hydrangea Cottage is the best vacation rental we’ve ever had! The kitchen is well equipped, the rooms are clean and spacious, and very comfortable. Donatela is a lovely host, and we hope to stay there again!
We absolutely love Hydrangea Cottage!! The house is immaculate and very spacious and comfortable. It had everything we could need, and it's in such a quiet peaceful setting. For anyone who likes both the country and the ocean, this is the perfect location because you can drive or bike through scenic farmland and yet you are still very close (a 3-minute drive!) from a beautiful ocean beach, We definitely hope to come back!!

Wonderful week in Hydrangea Cottage
We stayed at this home for a week with my daughter, son in law, and their baby. Everyone enjoyed the House. We enjoyed the convenience of being close to the beautiful beach and the quiet neighborhood. The house had AC, important for August comfort. Great porch and patio for grilling and relaxing. Nice farm market around the corner. Love Little Compton!

We had a wonderful stay in the Hydrangea Cottage. Greeted with fresh flowers and enchanting souvenirs, we could feel the love and felt right at home.
My parents are from Newport and I spent most every summer in Portsmouth on the Sakonnet. My family and I find peace on the shores of Rhode Island and the Hydrangea Cottage home has been the most peaceful by far. So clean, well appointed and every need was met. I was stung and the Emergency Kit came to the rescue. When it rained, we enjoyed dinner, watched movies, and played our favorite board games. The table opened to fit 6 comfortably. Although we each had a novel, we enjoyed the magazines as well. Yogi, our 11 year old Golden enjoyed his early morning walks and hanging out with us on the deck and star gazing. Thanks you for providing the seat covers, doggie bags, towel. You thought of everything.
The outdoor shower was the best. It is always a must for our summer vacations and yours is just beautiful. We walked to the Farmer’s Market twice and enjoyed all of their delicious produce, eggs and fresh bread. We went to the beach almost everyday and already made a donation to the Nature Conservancy to help protect Goosewing Beach. By far our favorite beach in RI. Just breathtaking.
We had lunch at Commons Lunch and Four Corners Grille but our favorite meal out was at Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyards. Our 3 children ages 19-24 were interested in seeing Amy and the Engine, a young Indie group from Berkley. Check the website regularly for other interesting activities, wine tasting/tours or just enjoy the pastoral views. We all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly at this venue.
We could not have asked for anything more.....the binders were very informative and all our needs were met. I hesitate to submit this review because I am afraid to let the world know about your beautiful home and serene LC!
The house and location are great. The garden is beautiful, with a very nice outdoor shower.Clean! and has everything you need.Walk or bike ride (or drive) to nearby South Shore beach. Excellent!
The Hydrangea cottage was spacious, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed walking to the beach every day, relaxing on the sunny deck, and exploring this bucolic area of Rhode Island. Could not recommend this rental more highly.
This spacious house is nicely decorated and furnished. Linens and soaps are high quality. The kitchen has a large selection of dishes, pans, and small tools.
The house is on a quiet gravel road and has lovely gardens and a wonderful back deck and patio with BBQ grill. It’s walking distance to South Shore Beach and to a nice farm market (Wishing Stone Farms).
Donatella responded quickly to emails. I felt comfortable that she would have addressed any issues immediately (we had no problems during our stay).
This is a great spot for a relaxing vacation.
We stayed here for a week in late August. Great location for daily time at South Shore beach, and we were grateful later in the day for the very comfortable furnishings and A/C for an especially warm summer. Host was friendly and responsive!
Very clean, comfortable, and attractive cottage, with everything extremely well-provided for an enjoyable family vacation rental, inside the house and also outside on the deck and in the yard.
Beautiful cottage a quick walk from beach and farm stand
This was our second stay at Hydrangea Cottage and our first during the summer season. The cottage itself is very clean, uncluttered, and yet well-equipped. It served our party of six (three generations from age 9-68) very comfortably for the week, and quite frankly we could have stayed longer. The local neighborhood was great for walks, morning runs, and bike rides for the kids. A rainy day allowed us to take advantage of the puzzles and books at the house. A built-in desk was handy for a few ongoing work calls. We cooked nearly every meal at the house over the course of the week (all with local produce and meat from the farm store a quick walk from the house or other nearby farms), supplemented just with a pastry run at Tiverton, seafood at Bristol, and blackberries from the yard! The cottage is in a quiet location about a 15 minute walk from the town beach, which we went to at least once a day through the week, weather permitting. The beach is family-friendly and perfect for boogey boarding and surfing lessons, and while it can get crowded in peak season, walking further down to the adjacent Goosewing Beach (part of the nature preserve) will thin the crowd completely. It’s also a great starting point for a day trip to Newport, the excellent bike trail between Bristol and Providence, nature trails, birdwatching at nature preserves, and enjoying other points in coastal Massachusetts. Donatella, the owner, was communicative and welcoming. We look forward to returning!
Very comfortable and welcoming property. Very roomy and ample outdoor area to enjoy coffee or wine in the sunshine and the beautiful landscape. During our stay, the Monarch butterflies were plentiful and the night sky was filled with stars. Would recommend for a quiet get away with easy driving access to South Shore Beach. Linda October 2021
Comfortable, spacious, clean and beautiful hydrangeas!
We had a really nice stay at this property. It is super comfortable, spacious and clean. I especially appreciated the central air conditioning over the hot summer! And it was great for our dog because we could walk to South Shore Beach in the morning where you can walk on with leashed dogs on the beach until 9am!
This was our second time staying at Hydrangea Cottage, and it was every bit as delightful as the first.
The house is so comfortable, with plenty of room for six people, and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is well equipped (although we mostly just had corn and tomatoes and burgers on the grill).
The Little Compton town beach ("South Shore Beach") is just a couple minutes away. We bought a week pass ($50) and went every day. Especially enjoyed watching the little kids learning to surf.
We just wish the vacation didn't have to end.
We LOVED the cottage. The hosts are amazingly sweet and we are so very grateful! Thank you, thank you! The outside gardens are as beautiful the inside: open, airy, spotlessly clean with lots of space for everyone! It was our first time vacationing here and were pleasantly delighted to see the online description was right on the mark! The location is ideal: rural, quiet and minutes from all your needs. We cannot imagine having a better experience! We are definitely, absolutely returning!
Lovely cottage. The open kitchen, dining room and living room made it feel so spacious and relaxing, and that whole area was so bright and sunny. LOVED the large deck and patio for outdoor living. Sun there every afternoon. All 3 bathrooms had lots of counter top space on the vanities...so much better than those pedestal sinks with no where to put your stuff! Little Compton and surrounding towns are pastoral, idyllic, quaint, and beautiful with their rock walls and meadows, as well as lots of water views.
