This house was spotless, the beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet as can be. We were only a short distance from Johns Hopkins for our visit, which was really convenient. The kitchen is well stocked too.

Quaint and comfortable
After traveling (and being in a vehicle for almost 24 hours) arriving here was like arriving at home. The beds are comfortable, the water always hot, the neighborhood quiet and the house is colorful and comfy. Only issue I had was opening the basement door to remove the recycling and take out the trash.
I would stay here again.

Ednor Gardens is a quiet, well-preserved, historic residential neighborhood in the middle of the city and close to everything we wanted to see.
The house was very clean, comfortable and safe. It had everything we needed. The AC worked great. The washer and dryer worked great.
I will definitely recommend to friends and family!

Great house with decent amenities. The house decor and art was a real treat to experience. Neighbors were really nice. The street is a narrow one-way like a lot of Baltimore neighborhood streets, but street parking wasn't too bad if you know how to parallel park.
So nice to stay at a home with laundry and a kitchen. The beds were great and love the themes of each room. Also the shower had great water pressure. Would definitely recommend the house to others who need a place to stay in NE Baltimore.

For readers: please note that we also have a parking spot in our back driveway, as well as a one car garage.
This property was very clean, nice , and location was quiet . Our one issue was the radiators in rooms made noise intermittently all nite with water sounds . If you are not a heavy sleeper this may keep you up in the colder weather with them on .

Thanks for your feedback. Glad you found the place clean and comfortable. Sorry to hear radiators made some noise, will discuss it with the heating company.
Communication with host was great and check-in was seamless. The house is historically beautiful and as described. There is no ventilation in bathroom so, as noted with signage, you will need to open the window after every use. The bedrooms do not have curtains so if you are a light sleeper, you will need to pack a sleep mask. The kitchen is a little cluttered but it does offer a great start for your basic cooking needs. The beds were very comfortable and theres plenty of space in the home to relax with your whole family. The neighborhood seems nice and we had no noise or issues from the close neighbors. Excellent location for nearby aquarium, museums and other tourist spots. Only an hour drive to DC as well for day trips.
This is a comfortable and inspiring home. Loved all the hand-painted touches and wonderful art all around. Very cheerful colors. Incredibly comfortable beds and linens. We were there in winter so didn't get to experience the neighborhood in bloom but could tell it must be lovely with all the flowering trees and many gardens.
The one note I have for anyone considering staying here, the bathtub/shower does not have grab bars and has a curtain all around so nothing even to lean on. It was fine for me but my 87-year-old mother did not feel safe using it. Just something to be aware of.

Thank you Lucy. Glad you liked so many of the features of my home. Thank you for your feedback about the tub; there is a plastic stool you can use, and we can make some adjustments next time if needed, just ask.
We stayed @housecolorful in August for college move-in dat/week. Property was as described. You have all that you need in a house for day‐to-day living. We liked the feel and decor of this charming rowhouse, from the squeaky floors to all of the personal items throughout, reminding us of old Europe. The host was very kind and responsive to any questions we had. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood to catch the sunset and see the skyline of downtown Baltimore, very pretty with lots of greenery everywhere, impressive to people traveling from Arizona. We would definitely go back and stay at the house again.

Perfect home base for moving our son to college
We needed a home away from home across the country to collect all the items my son needed to move into his dorm room. We also wanted a convenient location to downtown, suburbia, and DC so we could vacation a little, as well as prepare my son for college. Zoya's place had all the comforts of home from which to launch our boy on to the next phase of his life. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was the lack of wifi available during our visit. The caretaker and owner both tried to work with the provider to turn it back on so I think the problem was bigger than them but we were at the very end of our data plan so it was a bit of an incovenience. The home was cozy and the neighborhood was quiet and convenient for all we needed.

Thank you Karen, glad you enjoyed the house. Regarding the Wifi, we had had repeated problems with Verizon lately, inconveniencing our guests. We finally got fed up and decided to change providers. That also was a process and the proper installation required some pushing and shoving with the new provider's installers. What happened to customer service in this country? In any case, we could provide modest hotspot service during the transition period. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hope you will come stay with us again - now all is in good order and the speed is great.
We stayed here in April, which was a great time! The spring flowers and trees in the neighborhood were in full bloom and we were lucky to have some nice sunny days during our visit. One of the main reasons we chose the house was that it was within walking distance of our very good friends, who we were in town visiting, which made the home very convenient.
This was a very cute and traditional Baltimore row house that was lovely to stay in. The instructions for check-in were clear and easy to follow, and Zoya and her property manager were very communicative. We didn't have any issues with the house while were there, but I'm sure that Zoya would have been prompt to respond if we had any trouble. The property itself has a boho/artist vibe to it that was both creative and also very cozy. The mattresses were either memory foam or had nice memory foam toppers, and the beds were prepared with adequate blankets for the cooler weather we had while we were in town.
The shower was straight up luxurious, with perfect water pressure, temperature, and amount of water. I would stay here again, just for the shower. Towels that were provided were soft and fluffy, high end hotel quality.
Floors were a little creaky, but that is to be expected in an old house, and I personally found it charming. Would definitely recommend to friends visiting the area!

About the host
Hosted by Zoya
I have had a long career in international development and traveled extensively for business and pleasure. I enjoy staying in beautiful private homes when I travel - prefer the feeling of home to hotels.
This is my home that I rent in my absence. It’s almost 100 years old and it is furnished to feel like a home, in a very personal way - with vintage furniture and artifacts, rugs and artwork I have collected traveling around the world. Hope you like this style and will enjoy its multicultural feel. There will be some of my personal stuff around the house too, and stored in the basement. The closets are emptied for you, though.
Why they chose this property
Ednor Gardens is a quiet and friendly diverse neighborhood, but close to everything. Plenty of parking, but the bus stop is right around the corner too. We have a YMCA right nextdoor. You can walk to Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus and the JHU shuttle stop at Eastern Campus. Near Morgan Loyola and other universities, Preakness, Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore City Museum, and other sites.
What makes this property unique
Special home, decorated creatively and with love. Take a look at the photos! Creatively painted interior walls and plenty of art to enjoy this old rowhouse in the quiet urban neighborhood. Listen to the birds chirping every morning. Original features of this 1927 house include hardwood floors, wood windows, plumbing fixtures, one car garage - living history, if you like that kind of a home. Equipped with individually controlled AC split system units for each room.
House has been kept pet-free and suitable for people with pet-allergies.
The front den is setup as an office. You have at your disposal two desks, a number of plugs and a printer/scanner, plus some basic office suplies (stapler, scissors, etc.) I try to keep the printer working, but no guarantees, you are on your own with peper jams and such, and depending on timing you may or may not have to go pick up toner for yourself. One of the bedrooms also has an antique desk, for more private work hours.
Djembe drums if you like to play.
Friendly neighbors.
YMCA is right next door - has an Olympic size indoor swimming pool and all full fitness facilities. Community children's playground built and cared for by the neighborhoods.
Popular Farmers' Market every Saturday morning. nearby.
